Swimming, waterfalls, hiking, Gold fossicking and wildlife watching - the ultimate camping experience!

Nestled in the heart of Gold & Gem Fossicking country Kookabookra Falls is located within the property of Dunooki in and around the historical gold mining region of Kookabookra on the New England Tablelands just 50km Northeast of Guyra. The property consists of 6000 acres of mostly natural bushland complete with stunning views of mountain ranges and deep gorges that seem to go forever.

Kookabookra Falls itself cascades down a drop of 80-90 meters on the Nowlands River offering adventurers a rare and up close opportunity into what many consider to be a mini National Park.

Why not try your hand at Gold panning (on the property) or Gem fossicking (off the property, nearby)? Or perhaps you just want to chill and soak up what Nature has to offer. Or even better, enjoy your favourite beverage whilst cooling off in one of our many waterholes.

Although there are multiple Camping grounds on and near the falls, you will feel like its all yours. You will spend days getting lost as you explore your patch of paradise while here.

"We have enough firewood to supply the Amazon, so be sure to bring an axe or chainsaw"

Fantastic views and a really well set up camping area. The flushing toilet was a bonus! Michael was very helpful making sure we were set up right and knew about all the cool spots around. Would love to come back sometime.

Was fantastic, camp sites really dispersed so you can have privacy and enjoy the beautiful sorrounds of your camp. Each location has lovely views. Well maintained. The waterfall it's self is amazing, I did hike/climb down for photos ect , it is dangerous also snakes so gotta be prepared physically and careful of snakes if you wanna do that.

Wonderful property beautiful views with plenty wildlife kids had an absolute ball. Was great being able to collect wood to keep warm at night. We also got to make our way down and do some fossicking. Also have the water buffalo there was great sight. Absolutely incredible place- as good if not better than a national park with so much to explore. A must stay if you are in the area! Even if you're not in the area, it's worth going out of your way for 😆 Thanks so much Michael for a great time.

Our favourite hipcamp so far!!!
(We've stayed at a lot!)
We absolutely loved our stay at Michael's beautiful property.
Unfortunately it got cut short due to bad weather rolling in, but we will definitely be back!

The property is quite remote, just how we like it!
The falls are stunning and the creek leading up to it is very serene.
We loved the idea that Michael has made down by the creek a day use area so that the area is fairly used by all campers.

We were amazed with the flushing loo with a spectacular view in such a remote location it was definitely a welcomed luxury.
There's lots to offer at this property and I'd recommend staying a few days to make the most of it.
Michael is a very friendly host who is happy to talk to you about the property and surrounds.

We appreciate that you have opened your property to hipcamp otherwise we would never of known this stunning slice of wilderness existed .

Wow!!! Best trip so far! It doesn’t get better than that for me - thank you! Just know you are always welcome here. When things get too much in the big smoke, you know where to go for some sanity. Thanks again to you both and be safe. “Adventure & Beyond”

Stunning spot, we were the only campers that night. So quiet, a loo with a stunning view & a lookout point to enjoy (if you don’t mind getting a bit wet crossing the river!)
We will definitely be back!
