Learn more about this land:  ⛺️Located 3 miles east of Ohio's largest state park, Salt Fork, sits the beautiful property of Vista Venue's and Salt Fork Riding Stables in Winterset.  🌳 This location has been a primitive campsite for over 30 years and we are so excited to host you! Bigfoot AKA "The Ohio Grassman" has allegedly been spotted, heard, and captured on film at this very spot!  💫 When you're not encountering Bigfoot, enjoy pure peace as you are surrounded by 400 acres of beautiful woods, roughly 40 miles of trails, and the perfect spot to star gaze in total privacy. NOTE:  You will have to go down a trail off of the main driveway to access the campsite. 2 wheel drive vehicles should take extra caution, especially if it has been raining for several days the trail could be slick and soft in spots so please travel at your own risk and caution.  The trail is highly maintained to ensure safe travels, but just know it is not an actual road.  The trail is more than wide enough to drive a full size truck and camper down.  If you do not have a camper and do not mind a 5 - 10 minute walk, you may park at the trails entrance or contact me ahead of time before you arrive I would be more than happy to take you with a vintage tractor and beautiful wagon.

Ni e but needs a level spot
Camp was nice and secluded but could be made better with a level pad for a tent. We could not find a level spot anywhere.

We had a great time staying here! Secluded and peaceful. Definitely would recommend 4WD if you’re driving to the campsite. The hosts were extremely responsive and friendly. Our dogs loved it too!

Private and Peaceful
Great private spot! The picknic table was a nice bonus we didn't expect. We added a firewood bundle to our stay and it was plentiful. I'd recommend a vehicle with a bit of ground clearance to get back up the road, but it just adds to the experience of being back in the woods. In the evening we could hear the occasional vehicle drive by on the main road, but didn't mind. We even had the added bonus of a visit from a young hound who was very friendly and took a nap by us.

This camp is everything it says it is! Relaxing and secluded. The host was very helpful and accommodating, answering all my questions. A very layed back atmosphere. And minutes from my favorite state park! Loved it and will return!
