Hike or bike 2 miles into a completely secluded cabin on 600 acres with panoramic views of the Green Mountains. You’ll arrive to a cozy cabin that can comfortably sleep 2, or up to 4 if needed, equipped with a potbelly stove and basic cooking equipment.The mountain, once a source of wood for the Stanley Tool factory and a site for bridle trails in the summer and Nordic skiing in the winter, is now best known as a the birthplace of the Spartan Race and host of the infamous Death Races, as well being a popular mountain biking destination called the Green Mountain Trails. The trail system boasts 25 miles of flowy trails for all abilities as well as a stone staircase climbing from the base to the top of the trails at Shrek’s Stone Hut. Awake to an incredible sunrise and panoramic Green Mountain views after a night underneath a starry dome unblemished by city lights. Chilly evenings in the hut are easily tempered by a pot belly stove fed by seasoned wood. A built in bunk accommodates two people, but it’s possible to sleep up to four guests.

BlueberryHill Field Camp

The field is adjacent to the Blueberry Hill Inn and Outdoor and in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest and Moosalamoo Recreation Area. Great sunsets! We offer access to outdoor showers with hot and cold running water and toilets in the nearby Outdoor Center. There is an internet connection near the buildings but not necessarily at your site. You can drive your car to the site. There is privacy between the sites though occasionally there are other tents in the open field. You can forage for wood for a small fire or you can request 'bundles' (a small cartful) to be available upon arrival. Wood from outside Vermont is not allowed. Access to many hiking/biking/running trails just outside your tent door. We are stewards of these trails and your camping fees help to support our work. Nearby swimming, kayaking, and canoeing are available too. We provide trail maps upon arrival and you can also view them online from our webpage at Blueberry Hill Inn. Visit to our secret swimming hole located nearby...and White River access just down the road. Just up the road is the popular Silver Lake and State Park, great swimming, sunbathing, paddle boarding, kayaking or canoeing. We are close to interesting activities, such as the White River National Fish Hatchery, Billings Farm, the Queechee Balloon festival, and more. Near by farm stands sell fresh organic produce, eggs, grass fed meats, homemade food products and crafts. What is there to eat and drink? Nearby restaurants include The Barnard Inn, Cloudland, Toziers, Tessi’s Tavern, Locust Creek Diner, The Bethel Sandwich Shop, Cockadoodle and Village Pizza. Babe’s Bar in Bethel offers amazing creative cocktails in an old railway station. In the village of South Royalton 12 miles away is our local Co-op. There you can access lots of healthy food choices, many locally sourced and lots of drinks, it's our go to market. Three miles up Route 12 is the Barnard General Store and gas station they have just about everything a camper could want. They stock ice, fresh baked goodies, fruit and vegetables, prepared foods and many locally produced delights such as ice cream, kombucha and fresh baked goods. Their meat case features, sausages, thick pork chops, fresh air chilled chicken, local grass fed beef and they always have fresh Farro Island salmon. They also offer wine, beer and ciders. A mile away on 107 is the Locust Creek General Store and gas station, they uniquely offer block ice, diesel and kerosene, drinks, simple fresh sandwiches, many frozen foods and lots of newspapers. We encourage decent volumed music and all the laughter you can, we just ask out of decency to our neighbors to keep it down after 10pm on weeknights and 11:30 on weekends. (Yelling/inconveniently loud music) We have fire pits located at your site, and a communal one on the main property level. Water is accessible by hose on the main property level as well. Enjoy petting the goats Thelma and sally struthers , and getting to know them, or our dog and security guard / herder (but very loving and non aggressive ) Odin. If you’d prefer not to be on the woods, we also have the top property field where you have an amazing view of the green mountains along with the rest of the main property and gardens. We sell organic vinegars, beeswax wraps, pickled Veg, ramp salts & butter spreads , and stone ground organic mustards on site, so don’t be afraid to ask ! Enjoy your evening watching the sun go down on the mountains with a glass of wine up by the gardens in a lawn chair, or fishing the neshobe and cooking your catch riverside with a cold beer . (We have a kayak on the beach for our customers to use when available) there is a fire pit located at each site. Hiking, swimming ,skiing snow shoeing and thousands of miles of trails are all conviently located within a 5-50 min drive with SO MANY lakes and mountains and trails to choose from. We are in the works of building our outhouse and solar showers so currently we supply you during your stay with us : a solar shower bag, a compost bucket toilet with compostable bags,hand sanitizer and a food scrap bucket w/ lid (food scraps only please) we have a compost area where you can discard the food waste on property . Currently we ask you follow the “carry in carry out”policy with trash. We can’t wait to meet you! And someone is usually here 23/7 to help you with whatever you might need. Dan found this special place back in 1996. We didn’t move on site until 1999 and still haven’t build our dream home. The years were full of raising our four daughters on this beautiful property. The girls had horses, enjoyed snowmobiles, four wheeling, ice skating, kayaking, sliding parties, camping, picking wild berries and playing in the woods. We had a Christmas tree farm and enjoyed sharing the property and horses with our customers. We now enjoy all this with our two grandsons. Branbury State Park lies at the base of Mt. Moosalamoo. Sounds like something out of a Doctor Seuss book, doesn't it? So, basically it has to be awesome. In the lush forests surrounding the area you just might find something that looks like a Seuss creature too. Look in Lake Dunmore, which is the main attraction to Branbury. Once the home to a summer boy’s camp, the area is now open to more than just pre-teen youngsters. It’s a good thing too, because nothing beats cooling off in the lake on a sweltering afternoon.

Turn away from the beach and you’ll be faced with a number of adventurous options. Select hiking trails will take you to scenic vistas and waterfalls. Others will lead you into caves or up to mountain lakes. Bring a bike if you want, because the trails around here are well suited for peddling too.
