Choose a wood fired hot tub site beside the creek or choose general creekside camping beside the creek. Our campsites are on scenic, levelled areas overlooking the large dam and bushland, with grassed areas ideal for tents and camper-vans, and a portaloo a short walk away. The block is a natural timber and grassland block, with devils, quolls and wombats also residing here. We have one powered site available, and multiple unpowered sites.
There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife.

Our site (we have 1 site only) is positioned on a section of our 3 acre block that is totally private from our residence. We are located an easy 20 minute drive from Hobart airport. The site is not just in a paddock but is surrounded by beautiful native trees and garden - there is a small enclosed camp shelter with 15amp power for caravans and campervans. There is also a bench, sink, hot water, wood heater and a bar fridge. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim.
The beach is a 5 minute walk away. We have a deck positioned to pull up to next to the shed. Clifton Beach is a beachside community located on the south arm peninsula 25 minutes from Hobart city and is the closest surf beach to Hobart.
The south arm peninsula itself has many great walks and beautiful beaches. It is a great spot to base yourself to explore Hobart and local attractions. e.g Port Arthur 90 minutes.
Campers must be self contained with a toilet.

Wood available for sale at camp to use in fire pits for just $10 a tub.
We have just put in a private dump point for guest convince.

This is a beautiful natural campsite on land near our home. You'll need to have your own power, toilet/shower and leave no trace.

Rivers Edge is 24 acres of forest on the banks of the Leven River in Gunns Plains, Tasmania. We are in our own little valley surrounded by tall forests. Preston Creek flows all year through our property and meets the large Leven River where your campsite is situated. Perfect for trout fishing, platypus watching, bird watching or catching the sun setting through the trees on the river bend. There are even the endangered black fresh water crayfish.
The site is large enough for up to 5-6 caravans for large bookings, and we only take one booking at a time, so its exclusively yours.
We are only 20km to the nearest town, Ulverstone which as everything you need.
The road is close by the campsite with easy access to find the property. No toilet facilities at the site. Sat TV is good and limited mobile reception. Telstra works best we've found.
River access over a rocky, uneven embankment as it's a natural, untouched environment, just how we and the native animals like it.
Campfires ONLY PERMITTED when fire restrictions aren't in place. You absolutely must make sure your campfire is fully extinguished before you leave.
Please check "My Trips" (in your profile) for directions once confirmed. Look for the 'Rivers Edge' sign on the entrance gate, then you know youve got the right site and not the neigbours property (which is along side mine on the river)
Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept with you at all times, no roaming dogs as the road is close by.
We love the peace and serenity here so please no unruly behaviour or parties.

What a set up! Well done Aaron and Amanda on such a Beautiful camping spot by the river! We had the whole place to ourselves so got to explore at our leisure. We loved our stay at Nigel's land on Bruny Island. Views of the bay were magical. Very peaceful and quiet. Could have a fire when weather allowed you. Plenty of room for a any size van. Easy access into property and Nigel was very welcoming.

The lagoon was beautiful. Campsite was a bit crowded. Just an open field with 5 of us side by side. No fires unless in your own pit. No toilet or wood. I’d go back because the beach and lagoon were so special. The other campers were very polite everyone was in their rigs at sundown which meant it was quiet and peaceful. Very close to Bicheno (go to the lobster shack if you haven’t been!) and East Coast Natureworld (sanctuary where you can pet kangaroo, white wallaby, and watch a devil feeding).

This serene camp site was the perfect way to start my trip to Tasmania. I wish I could have stayed longer, but my schedule did not allow. They had the best set up for my self contained camper van, with a plug in so I never had to worry. I had cell reception the entire time. This made for easy on the fly planning and mapping. The fridge inside the hut was great to spread some of my food out and only bring what was necessary for the day trips. The outdoor table was an incredible spot for enjoying a meal without having to reconvert my bed. The hosts were very kind and welcoming, which means a lot as a solo female traveler. I loved the safe neighborhood and taking morning swims at Clifton Beach. The walk to the beach was very easy and the sunrises and sunsets were absolutely stunning. The bird songs in the morning were some of my favorite ways to wake up. I enjoyed the market near South Arm and some great hikes. Mt. Wellington was very easy to get to from here. Hobart city is near by and you can take the ferry in from Bellerive to go to the Salamanca market, with easy parking for the camper just down the road from the pier, both advice given by the lovely hosts. The local recommendations were spot on and I am very grateful for them. I look forward to returning to this paradise.

A beautiful place to stay with everything you’d need for a restful night. Well maintained facilities and really great bathrooms and showers which felt luxurious after hiking for 9 days. Consistent pressure, hot water, hair dryers, large food prep area, laundry/drying facilities! Well located to hiking areas and very accessible, Steve and Alana have created a a most welcoming base camp for your adventures.

Amazing central location to explore around Bruny Island. Quiet area with lots of room with a few different choices and style of sites. We enjoyed being able have a fire most nights. Nigel was very accommodating and we will definitely be back again.
