We are one of only a few farms on a no through road and offer a unique experience of peace and serenity while being close to some of the major attractions the East Coast of Tasmania has to offer.
We are located only a 10 minutes drive to one of the most beautiful (secret) beaches in Tasmania and 15 minutes drive to Triabunna where the ferry departs for Maria Island.
We live on site (a few acres away across the rivulet) and are delighted to offer 12 opportunities for self-contained campers to camp on our private land and share our passion for the area.
This is a leave no trace property that suits self-contained campers who bring everything they need and remove everything they bring. Well behaved dogs and humans are all welcome.
We are farmers and this property is where we live and work. Please respect our requirement for self-contained campers only. This includes caravans and campervans with toilets on board. Our campsites are on scenic, levelled areas overlooking the large dam and bushland, with grassed areas ideal for tents and camper-vans, and a portaloo a short walk away. The block is a natural timber and grassland block, with devils, quolls and wombats also residing here. We have one powered site available, and multiple unpowered sites.
There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife.

Wood available for sale at camp to use in fire pits for just $10 a tub.

Discover Leven River Camping at Wattle Farm, a tranquil retreat nestled on the edge of the wilderness, where the river and forest greet you at your front door. This naturally forested 100-acre property is a haven for abundant native wildlife, offering an idyllic escape into nature.
When you book, you'll secure a site within one of our designated camping areas, with the freedom to choose your exact setup spot upon arrival. We offer two main areas: "The Big Paddock" (left of the road) and "The Little Paddock" (right of the road).
The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river.
For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket.
Natural Surroundings & Activities:
Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic.
Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley.
Important Information
No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal.

As well as camping, it is also available to rent for a variety of purposes; as the ultimate fishing retreat, for wedding, birthday and other significant life events, as a yoga, meditation and lifestyle retreat, or simply the ultimate holiday destination. This is such a special place that you really need to come and experience it for yourself to believe it. We await your visit.
*Some important notes before you book:
- Campers must have their own toilet and must remove all waste and rubbish. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all time.
- River water is available but drink at own risk.
- We recommend a strong vehicle, and a 4WD when towing caravans as the road in is steep.

Our site (we have 1 site only) is positioned on a section of our 3 acre block that is totally private from our residence. We are located an easy 20 minute drive from Hobart airport. The site is not just in a paddock but is surrounded by beautiful native trees and garden - there is a small enclosed camp shelter with power, bench, sink, hot water, wood heater and a bar fridge. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim.
The beach is a 5 minute walk away. We have a deck positioned to pull up to next to the shed. Clifton Beach is a beachside community located on the south arm peninsula 25 minutes from Hobart city and is the closest surf beach to Hobart.
The south arm peninsula itself has many great walks and beautiful beaches. It is a great spot to base yourself to explore Hobart and local attractions. e.g Port Arthur 90 minutes.

As the site is teeming with wildlife including the barred bandicoot, we don't allow dogs.
There are no facilities on the block apart from a long drop dunny (byo paper) and a small supply of non-potable water so you will need to be self-sufficient though there are good meals at the nearby Lufra Hotel and excellent coffee just up the road at the legendary Cubed Coffee van.
We only make provision for two campsites so you'll never be crowded.

There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife.

The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river.
For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket.
Natural Surroundings & Activities:
Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails.
The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic.
Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley.
Important Information
No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal.

Our site (we have 1 site only) is positioned on a section of our 3 acre block that is totally private from our residence. We are located an easy 20 minute drive from Hobart airport. The site is not just in a paddock but is surrounded by beautiful native trees and garden - there is a small enclosed camp shelter with power, bench, sink, hot water, wood heater and a bar fridge. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim.
The beach is a 5 minute walk away. We have a deck positioned to pull up to next to the shed. Clifton Beach is a beachside community located on the south arm peninsula 25 minutes from Hobart city and is the closest surf beach to Hobart.
The south arm peninsula itself has many great walks and beautiful beaches. It is a great spot to base yourself to explore Hobart and local attractions. e.g Port Arthur 90 minutes.

Bookings are for two adults; children under 16 are free. It may be possible for larger groups to occupy one site - please enquire before booking.
As the site is teeming with wildlife including the barred bandicoot, we don't allow dogs.
There are no facilities on the block apart from a long drop dunny (byo paper) and a small supply of non-potable water so you will need to be self-sufficient though there are good meals at the nearby Lufra Hotel and excellent coffee just up the road at the legendary Cubed Coffee van.
We only make provision for two campsites so you'll never be crowded.

We were impressed how professionally the camp areas had been set up. Lots of water areas and other activities for children. I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 solo nights in the Little Paddock with my dog. Two other young families were also camping in the paddock, but there was plenty of space between us all and plenty of space for children to play and be kids without disturbing each other.
The Paddock is grassy, fenced, and lovely and flat, flanked by bush, river and a quiet dirt road. There is access to the river via the 'beach' near the bridge which is great for a swim, fish or kayak. Lots of bird life, awoke to a family of Kookaburras singing on the first morning which was cool.
Phone reception is poor, but I was able to send/receive text sms to let my partner know I'd got to my camp etc, which was nice. Other than that, you're camping, so switch off!
Plenty of nice shady spots to lull the afternoon away with a book. No firewood, so bring your own. Sam kindly sent me a note when I made the booking to register my little fire with TFS, given it is end of summer and you're in the bush. It was easy to register this 3 days ahead of my stay.
Highly recommend to other solo, couple, dog parents and families.

A lovely property and exceptional hosts. Ease of parking and the amenities including a lovely bumpy with hot running water, fridge and outside shower to wash the beach sand off, was high on our tick list. The area is amazing and lots to see and do. The bird life and nearby beaches offer endless things to see and do.
We would highly recommend Lyn and Allan’s property as a go to place for caravaners.

Fraser Flats was everything we expected and more. A brilliant site, next to Ringarooma river, on a large farm, in a tranquil valley. Derby is just done the road, with the Dorest Pub and The Hub pizza house, but we just lived the chance to chill and enjoy the natural environment.

Really beautiful and well set up site. Very private setting. A very relaxing few days. Just a few minutes walk to one of the most beautiful headland bays in Tassie. Close enough to Hobart to do day trips into Mt Wellington and sightseeing in Hobart and surrounding areas.

We had a great time at Frasers Flats! The owners are really friendly and the site is brilliant! We were lucky enough to spot a platypus in the morning as well, and the honey for sale is delicious. I would highly recommend!

Nice and close to Adventure Bay if you are going on the boat cruise. Perfect spot for our base for three nights. Lots of room to spread out and have your own space.

Beautiful, peaceful location not far from all the local attractions. Lots of wallabies came to visit in the evenings. Stayed 3 nights would recommend if you want a quiet location and an alternative to crowded camps in Triabunna.

We absolutely loved our stay and were fortunate enough to have the place to ourselves. Sites were not level but manageable. View was amazing looking out at the Franklyn rivulet. Close to Yorktown and Narawntapu National Park for day trip. Great communication from Sarah, highly recommend for a quiet relaxing stay.

Cluny Lagoon is a beautiful tranquil spot. We booked out the 3 site's for a family trip and had the best time. Beautiful view and great fun on/in the water. Our fur babies also enjoyed. Highly recommend 🤗

We felt very secure leaving our van each day to explore the area,and take an all day tour from Triabunna. Florence's friendly communication was excellent, and she always responded in a timely manner.
Being able to choose the spot on her block that suited us and the van, was a bonus. It was definitely peaceful and serene as we returned to the van each day. The block is quite level,with only a small chock adjustment where we chose.
We would wholeheartedly choose Florence's property as part our next trip back to Tas!
