Wonderful clean spot very friendly kind hosts. So much space we had the field to ourselves one night. We stayed an extra night it was so good, delicious coffee up the road, a long walk to the beach and port Arthur and definite visit.

We only spent one night at Stephen and Janelle’s place but would have gladly stayed longer! Stephen was very warm and welcoming, he came to greet us on arrival and gave great tips for locations to see/walk.

A beautiful spot, with amazing views and very welcoming hosts.
For those with large (rental) RVs just be careful with the turn into the plot and the overhead branches, they have been trimmed back, but the path can still be quite tight.

Fantastic place to stay!
Beautiful amongst the trees with all the wildlife.
Be sure to pack away all food, the pademelons are clever.
Stephen is a great host and gave great tips for surrounding areas.
Cubed coffee up the road is a must try, best coffee I’ve had in Aus and has stunning views while you enjoy.
Thank you Stephen, we’ll see you again 😄

Overall we had a good time (bushy outlook, cute wildlife, ocean glimpses) however we found the site to be quite sloped and not particularly appropriate for a caravan set up. We were supposed to set up at the thumbs but the car was showing a 10% decline down towards the road! We were nervous about even turning our caravan around on the thumbs site due to slope. The host agreed it was too steep at the thumbs and we were moved to the other side (the lanterns?) which was vacant but still quite sloped. We managed to get caravan flat enough with some rocks/timber acting as caravan levels. I think it wouldn’t have been as bad if most of the flat space wasn’t cordened off for an event, which we weren’t told about ahead of time. The entry gate was also really narrow and bushy so we sustained significant scratches to our caravan getting in and out of the tight entry.

Perfectly placed campground on the Tasman Peninsula, just above Pirates Bay.
What we loved most was the two camp sites had plenty of space, and we didn't feel like we were crowded in. Easy access to each site, long drop toilet available, and a lovely area to explore.
Cubed (retro coffee van) is a short walk away for a lazy start to Saturday and Sunday mornings. The 'best bang for buck' bushwalk to Waterfall Bluff is an easy 10 minute drive, and thoroughly recommended.
We took our own firewood however the hosts can arrange this if you don't have your own supply.
We fell asleep each night to the distant roar of waves, with the occasional hoot-hoot of an owl. Other visiting night-life included pademelons and bandicoots.
Our hosts provided sound local knowledge, and we will definitely be back again.

Quiet and peaceful spot with a far off view between the trees of the cliffs in the distance, a beautiful beach just down the hill and a drop toilet provided (we had our own bathroom in our camper so didn’t use it). We bought some wood and it was a very generous amount! Stephen was very friendly and had lots of good tips for walks to do nearby (we were there to walk Cape Huay). It was lovely!

Nice spot, but the view was more obstructed by the tree line than expected. The lack of a fire starter in the wood kit was a bit underwhelming. Clearer signposting of the two sites would make arrival easier.

I arrive around 4 pm .been driving non stop since 6 am ..and it was an was accident on the road ,.and was disappointed as the picture on the booking does not reflect at all the site , no sea view, ( the picture on the site is off a drone !!! ) very deceptive ..and the site where I could see a glimpse through the tree of sea , the man said I could not park there ....the place he indicate for my car was too sleep confortably in my car ( camping equipped)..I left stay away and try to find an other place and to recharge my phone ...anyway , I email the person I will not be staying at thier property..they did not reply . ..I find a better and cheaper place !!! As I ask a person in the street as I was lost without my phone google map .. Wow , full kitchen , , with electricity , hot showers and proper toilet , just 2 doors up , very friendly place " the diving center " so friendly with Alpacas and chickens .... for only 15 dollars a night ...very disappointed by hipcamp , not worst the money when ravelling alone and pictures and site very inaccurate....No happy with hipcamp ..

We loved camping at Stephen & Janelle's. It was spacious, quiet and had lovely views. It was a great place from which to explore the Peninsula, with lovely beaches nearby. Would recommend for a peaceful stay.

We had the most amazing time at this campsite. Our hosts were so welcoming and helped us pick the best spot to set up in order to get the best view. And, boy were they not wrong! The setting was romantic, secluded and comfortable and both my partner and I were commenting on how we had never seen so many stars before. We opted for a wheelbarrow of firewood and enjoyed a beautiful campfire. Saw some sweet little animals and just relished in the stillness. We will definitely be back to this incredible site. Thankyou Stephen and Janelle for such a special time.

I loved this spot, it was one of the highlights of the trip. Within walking distance from Cubed espresso and the thumbs have the lovliest view of the peninsula. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting that neck of the woods!
