Also very close to some great beaches where you can enjoy water activities. There is a boat ramp on the other side of bay approximately 5kms away. There are shops and cafes just down the road at Adventure Bay. 1.5 hours drive from Hobart. We are located only a 10 minutes drive to one of the most beautiful (secret) beaches in Tasmania and 15 minutes drive to Triabunna where the ferry departs for Maria Island. For the rest of the description, please see below Deep Glen is a beautiful, quiet 5 acre property at Eaglehawk Neck, gateway to the stunning Tasman Peninsula. Hiking, surfing, fishing, swimming, diving are all at your doorstep, not to mention the famous Three Capes Track and the Port Arthur Historic site just a short drive away. If you want to see the coast shown in these photos, both the Tasman Island Cruise and Wild Ocean Tasmania offer excellent trips Bookings are for two adults; children under 16 are free. It may be possible for larger groups to occupy one site - please enquire before booking. As the site is teeming with wildlife including the barred bandicoot, we don't allow dogs. There are no facilities on the block apart from a long drop dunny (byo paper) and a small supply of non-potable water so you will need to be self-sufficient though there are good meals at the nearby Lufra Hotel and excellent coffee just up the road at the legendary Cubed Coffee van. Why not take your mountain bike up there and enjoy the downhill ride afterwards? Sunsets are spectacular at Stringybark and the skies phenomenal during clear nights. Although it feels like the end of the world, surrounded by bush and wildlife, we're only 30 minutes drive from Launceston CBD, Ben Lomond National Park and Josef Chromy's winery and only a 20 minute drive from Launceston Airport, making it a perfect base to explore Launceston and surrounds. You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in. We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out. Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). If you want to see the coast shown in these photos, both the Tasman Island Cruise and Wild Ocean Tasmania offer excellent trips Bookings are for two adults; children under 16 are free. It may be possible for larger groups to occupy one site - please enquire before booking. As the site is teeming with wildlife including the barred bandicoot, we don't allow dogs. You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in. We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out. Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). This naturally forested 100-acre property is a haven for abundant native wildlife, offering an idyllic escape into nature. When you book, you'll secure a site within one of our designated camping areas, with the freedom to choose your exact setup spot upon arrival. We offer two main areas: "The Big Paddock" (left of the road) and "The Little Paddock" (right of the road). The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river. For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket. Natural Surroundings & Activities: Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails. The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic. Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley. Important Information No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal. We grow and process organic certified medicinal herbs and plants. The camping site is located in a beautiful location overlooking the lavender fields, in bloom december/january, with the ever-changing Mt Roland in the background. On days with cold southerly winds, alternative campingsites are available on the farm. Please contact us to find out. Includes use flushing toilet, hot shower and laundry (external access). Approx. 300m from the campsite. We are pet friendly. We've got room for up to 5 separate bookings. Due to shortage of personnel, we can no longer offer the farm tours. Hope this will change coming season 2024/25. But hipcampers are welcome to have a walk on the farm. We are working together with other organic certified farmers. Stringybark is a quiet 80 hectare rural property in the North East of Tasmania, featuring bush, native grassland and 4 beautiful lakes. It's the perfect place to kick back and relax, enjoy the views, the abundant wildlife and refreshing swims in the lakes on the property. If you feel like going for a wander, you can spend hours exploring the bush and native grasslands on the property and if you're keen on climbing the hill you get rewarded with amazing views over the Great Western Tiers. Why not take your mountain bike up there and enjoy the downhill ride afterwards? Sunsets are spectacular at Stringybark and the skies phenomenal during clear nights. Although it feels like the end of the world, surrounded by bush and wildlife, we're only 30 minutes drive from Launceston CBD, Ben Lomond National Park and Josef Chromy's winery and only a 20 minute drive from Launceston Airport, making it a perfect base to explore Launceston and surrounds. You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in. We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out. Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). This is one of the best family friendly and well thought out camp grounds we've ever been to on hipcamp. We chose campsite 2 and it was very nice to be able to know our toddler could safely play at the playground/sandpit while we set up and cooked. We had an issue with out bbq on the first day and Aaron came out and helped us solve the issue. We all had lots of fun and are already thinking of coming back again in the future! We stayed at campsite 2 for my partners birthday, despite our extremely late arrival the communication between me and the host was constant and clear, he had no issues with us arriving past our previously discussed time. Upon arrival there was a beautiful set up with marshmallows and a roaster, a sign for my partners birthday and some flowers. We got to set up our tent under beautiful festoon lights strung above, and were also able to prepurchase some firewood to have the pit nice and toasty. We also added the feature of the outdoor cinema, which was a game changer! The host had a lot of movies preloaded onto the usb, and even asked if my partner had a favourite for her birthday. The nearby walks are simply stunning and the waterfall is a short walk around the corner from the campsite. Absolutely stunning location - just be prepared to drive on some loose gravel if you’re in a smaller car! Will absolutely be visiting ladybug campgrounds again! 11/10

Kanyini, what can we say? Such a surprise when we arrived. The communication with Florence was a breeze. Such a lovely person. We had the whole camp to ourselves, well, apart from the wallabies and array of bird life. So peaceful. Just a camp fire, curious Wallaby’s, Kookaburras and Currawongs under a starry sky Will definately add this to our list of must return to spots. Really nice hosts with excellent communication. We reached out with questions about a different site as we required a private site with access for our campervan. The hosts opened up the site early for us to stay, it wasn't quiet finished yet but they let us stay. Hosts greeted us after we arrived and were friendly and polite, but kept things brief and left us to relax after a long drive. Very peaceful location next to the creek, flat ground and nice grassed area. Driveway in is good gravel, a few up and down hills but no dramas in our Toyota hiace commuter. We don't often stay at campgrounds as we like to camp privately with our dogs, this campground was very private and I would definitely recommend. There is wildlife around so if your dogs don't have a solid recall they would need to stay tethered, if they are well trained a wonderful space for the dogs to run around. We would definitely stay again.

I’d love to tell people not to book here to keep it a hidden gem for my husband and I, but the space is too good not to positively review. A short drive outside of coles bay town centre, close to the beach, walks and the beauty of the east coast but still enough away to feel private and secluded which is rare for this part of Tasmania. We loved our stay so much we booked and extra night and time over NYE. Highly recommend this camp- and Taj is amazing!

When you book, you can be assured that the property is yours alone, making it a quiet and private experience. The unpowered site gives you the opportunity to enjoy the land. Welcome to The Bush Circus. This is where I love to play and I welcome you here. All the deets you may need are listed here so read careful. Of course you can contact me if you can't work something out. You arrive here at the bottom corner of the property on Slab Rd where there is a place to park cars around several large gum trees. There is a very short walk through bush on manicured trails to one of three dedicated camp sites all of which is sign posted. There is also one RV spot at the car park. Toilet is located within a short walk from each campsite. All sights are reasonably flat and they all have a campfire. Please feel free to pick up twigs and breakable sticks to create a fire. If you want firewood it is $1 per piece and you can put this into the tin at where the firewood is collected. RV Spot- This is marked out as a section on the car park area. There may be some other cars near you but these are for the campers. Holy Tree Camp- The first sign takes you to this camp. You will see the tree with the burnt out base. Suitable for a small to medium tent. Tall Tree Camp- Second sign leads to here. It is adjacent to the tallest tree on the property. Small to medium tent. Octopus Tree Camp- Look up. You will see how it gets its name. Small to medium tent. This is a small property and if you get lost just follow the tracks you will find the camp you have booked. There are two toilets. Toilet one is for number 2's and toilet 2 is for number 1's. Just to make it confusing. All signposted but message me if you can't work it out. The circus area is not available for campers. Please contact me if this area interests you.

Preston Creek flows all year through our property and meets the large Leven River where your campsite is situated. Perfect for trout fishing, platypus watching, bird watching or catching the sun setting through the trees on the river bend. There are even the endangered black fresh water crayfish. The site is large enough for up to 5-6 caravans for large bookings, and we only take one booking at a time, so its exclusively yours. We are only 20km to the nearest town, Ulverstone which as everything you need. The road is close by the campsite with easy access to find the property. No toilet facilities at the site. Sat TV is good and limited mobile reception. Telstra works best we've found. River access over a rocky, uneven embankment as it's a natural, untouched environment, just how we and the native animals like it. Campfires ONLY PERMITTED when fire restrictions aren't in place. You absolutely must make sure your campfire is fully extinguished before you leave. Please check "My Trips" (in your profile) for directions once confirmed. Look for the 'Rivers Edge' sign on the entrance gate, then you know youve got the right site and not the neigbours property (which is along side mine on the river) Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept with you at all times, no roaming dogs as the road is close by. We love the peace and serenity here so please no unruly behaviour or parties.

Aug 2024: the site now has a flat patch for campers visiting 🏕️ The plot is nearly 3 acres and is earmarked conservation land and surrounded by neighbouring conservation land. This is your perfect lunawuni/Bruny Island escape! It is tucked away from the no-through gravel road and surrounded by Australian bush and wildlife with filtered water views of D'Entrecasteaux Channel and 100 m from the beach. It's a tranquil heaven yet so close to all the famous Bruny sites and must dos: Bruny oysters, beer and cheese (why not bring some to the campsite to enjoy?) The Neck, Truganini Lookout + penguins! Cape Queen Elizabeth Track and other hiking trails Adventure Bay and *white wallabies (*we give you a map on where to go to find the white wallabies!!) South Bruny, and the Light house When you book our site, you have it all to yourself! Except for sharing it with the wildlife, of course. As the name suggests, there is a family of quolls living on the land and you are very likely to see them! Once dusk arrives and the stars start lighting up the sky, the quolls usually come out to say hi before they start their night activities. Joining the quolls, are the potoroos who are not afraid to come up close and sniff your feet in curiosity. If you are yet to see a quoll and a potoroo in the wild, this is your campsite! Other wildlife includes the endangered Forty Spotted Pardalote and critically endangered Swift Parrots. To access the beach, simply walk through the property to the end of the plot and follow the path. There is an echidna living near the road so keep an eye out for her. The campsite is a perfect spot to see wildlife, and birds, and for photography. On the campsite is a large outdoor kitchen with two sinks. Wait... is there a bathtub? Yes! The bathtub is great for a bush shower (byo solar shower) as the taps are not connected. You must bring your own toilet. Rainwater is available too, we have two tanks! Campfires are allowed but you cannot collect firewood on the property. Please bring your own firewood or add it at the time of booking and we will provide you with firewood for your stay. The land is a conservation area and quolls are known to live in up to 5 nests. They live under the logs and it is an important habitat for the species. We love the quolls and know you will too so please do not disturb their homes. The site is excellent for stargazing once nightfall arrives. Simply BYO a hammock (we have prepared the setup!) and lie down to watch the stars with a glass of red or a hot chocolate. We recommend campervans for the site and it's only suited to self-contained campers leaving no trace behind. Available on-site and free to use are also a director's chair and a table. The kitchen is also equipped with a double sink, dish rack, two buckets, BBQ tools, cutlery, and a dustpan. There is also a cleaning kit with biodegradable spray, hand sanitizer, and soap. There are also a set of caravan/van leveling ramps and chocks for you to freely use. The site is perfect for those wishing to find privacy amongst an otherwise busy Island. Very private valley nestled between two mountainous sandstone ranges. 3.5 kilometers from Colebrook, via Yarlington road. The property in total size is 37 hectares half of which is gently undulating grassland slopes. These slopes lead to the banks of the beautiful Iles Creek which runs nearly all year round. The western range across the creek includes numerous caves within comfortable walking distance. The highest cave provides magnificent views to the East coast. Camping options include non-designated sites either side of the creek under the huge black-wood trees, restricted to 4-wheel drive vehicles during winter and spring months, with a secluded site with year-round access for all vehicles. At the entrance sits the first of the designated sites, the rest are accessed via the meandering road down 300 or so meters to the camping ground entrance for the other two sites. The last 500-700 meters of Yarlington road leading to the entrance is quite steep. Some two wheel drive vehicles towing large vans have found this challenging, while others haven't. The two main camping areas now have a 'bush loo' in each site. if you wish to use these please use your own paper. Also, now for camper convenience the whole area has access to the campers' lounge and resource shelter. It contains First Aid and snake bite first aid kits. Water is available here. WildWing Retreat is a beautiful 25 acre bush block, located within a 15 minute (1km) walk, to the local surf beach of Four Mile. The property has been created to host retreats centred around nature immersion, movement and connection (i.e yoga, acroyoga, dance, meditation, mindfuness, embodiment practices etc) and in the 'off season' it's available to host hipcampers! Because the space has been designed to host large groups, there are a bunch of facilities available to use, such as compost toilets, a communal kitchen with fresh running water, solar lights and gas cooker, an undercover deck area, hot showers, and a cedar barrel hot tub (refer to the extras section for hot tub use!). We also have a small stream on the property, with a little waterhole for plunging in and are surrounded by native wildlife. The property blooms with native Kunzea bushes, wattles, native cherries and various varieties of eucalyptus. WildWing is also our home, so we have our own set up, on a different section of the property. This means that we are nearby if needed, but that we all have our own space on the property :). There is a beautiful large fresh water river and waterhole just down the road (15 minute walk, or 2 minute drive), and aside from the surf beach down the front, we are also only a 10-15 minute drive from a bunch of other beautiful and popular surf beaches on the east coast. The whole area is great for fishing, boating, surfing, bike riding, walking and short hikes. We are a 10 minute drive from Falmouth, a 25 minute drive from the St Helens mountain bike trails, a 30 minute drive from Bicheno & Douglas Apsley National Park, a 45 minute drive from the infamous Bay of Fires and an hours drive from the Freycinet National Park. Our property runs beef and cultivates crops alongside the Ringarooma river, North East Tasmania. We often host mountain bike riders here to access the world-class trails at Derby. Nearby are many marked mountain trails, and numerous falls. Skiing is 1hr away in the winter. Our camping site is alongside cattle grazing paddocks and the Ringarooma river, and we offer one site only, to one group at a time, so it's yours exclusively. A toilet is available nearby. A gravel track descends to the river with a short steep bank preceding the flats. When the track reaches the river the camping site is just through the gate on the right. One gate and two wire gates may require opening on the way and these gates need to be closed again to prevent cattle from wandering. Electrical fencing is in use and alive - please be careful! Wood for your campfire is available to purchase, $15. I can supply fresh sourdough loaves $6 also fresh eggs $3perhalf doz, and fresh cows milk most of the year $5/2L. Fly fish for trout and cook over the coals for a treat. Welcome to bring your dog along, but please keep them under control.

On most Saturdays our small farmgate stall is open near the farm garden, off Bruny island Main Rd near Simpsons Bay Turn Off. The farmgate stall offers farm garden produce, cookies, jams, preserves & firewood. The Woodlander Campsite is set in our bottom forest paddock, next to a dam, with a seasonal winter creek. It is private and peaceful, with no other campers, houses, or nearby neighbours. We welcome travellers, with up to two vehicles, who are here to enjoy the peace and quiet (no parties please). The campsite has its own separate access, site toilet, solid picnic table and chairs, firepit and and is approximately 600 meters from where we live. Next to 70 acres of forest the location is great for birdlife, with many of Tassie's endemics around, and other wildlife abundant after dark. We are always happy to help with birding or wildlife tips! Based approx 5 minutes from Alonnah and 10 minutes from Adventure Bay, the "Woodlander" is central to so much of what Bruny Island has to offer.

Many would consider this place to be very remote.....to us it is close to the City only 50 minutes away over the Mountain gravel roads. If you want to travel on mostly sealed roads go through Fingal and PAST Mathinna. Check maps before you leave as NO reception out here. It is 40 acres and we have MANY MANY free roaming animals, milking goats, ducks, chickens, cows, 3 BIG dogs. (The dogs will get out of the way of cars so just drive ahead and the dogs will move out of your way they have big barks but they are friendly) PLEASE NOTE: If you have any issues with dogs let us know in ADVANCE and we can lock them in their yard for your stay. EVERYONE is told upon arrival to honk/toot your horn if you have any issues or need help and one of us will come and help if you let us know! Otherwise we leave people in peace to camp as they wish and where they want. The property has a big guest house that is currently empty, this is where the flushing toilet is for you to use whilst camping if you like. This Rustic country house is also available for hire/rent, there is hot water via a woodfire (takes up to 5 hours to heat up water $50 per wheelbarrow load of wood) with Big triangle bath and a shower for use if you book the house, (3 single beds and a few new double bed air mattresses are available for your less rugged campers who want to come but need that extra comfort or to be close to a toilet at $40 per person per night.) You are welcome to come camping anytime with a range of needs catered to. Sorry no wheelchair ramps, a single step into the house and one step into the toilet too. Pick whatever spot you like to camp upon, by the river, the rocky island in the river, in the bush, just on the paddock grass anywhere. The big house is for you to use the toilet, kitchen sink and feel free to have a cold shower if you want. You can wander on the property connect with us and if you like you can help feed the animals.
