Ladybug Camping 🐞 is a private campground offering a serene and immersive escape in Oldina, North West Tasmania 🌿. Set within a sheltered valley among towering Silver wattle, Man ferns and Blackwood trees, our 50-acre bushland retreat features three private waterfalls and a babbling creek that winds through the property—perfect for families, couples, and groups seeking peace, privacy, and connection with nature. The naturally protected valley shields guests from wind, creating comfortable camping conditions year-round. Wildlife encounters are common, with platypus gliding through the creek, Tasmania’s giant freshwater crayfish hiding beneath the rocks, pademelons grazing at dusk, and abundant birdlife throughout the day 🦆. Our spacious, private campsites cater to all camping styles. Some sites are self-contained, while others are tent-only for a more immersive bush experience. We offer sites ideal for caravans, campervans, rooftop tents, and group bookings, alongside more secluded sites perfect for couples and solo travellers. A well-maintained toilet is available for guest comfort. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit—ideal for outdoor meals, cozy fireside evenings, and stargazing under Tasmania’s clear night skies ✨. Site 2 – Creekside Hideaway Just across a quaint footbridge from the carpark, Site 2 is a lush, grassy sanctuary tucked within a pocket of temperate rainforest. Surrounded on three sides by a gently flowing creek and shaded by towering blackwoods, this tent-only site stays lush and green even through the driest Tasmanian summers. The short 50-metre walk over the bridge adds to the sense of seclusion, giving this site a peaceful, tucked-away feel. There’s room for up to three tents, making it a great choice for families or small groups wanting space, privacy, and a strong connection to nature. As the sun dips low, festoon lights strung through the trees create a soft, magical glow. Guests also have access to our outdoor cinema and a nearby tree swing—perfect for a bit of carefree fun, whether you’re young or just young at heart. If you’re after a quiet, fern-filled retreat with creek views, rainforest ambience, and a touch of whimsy, Creekside Hideaway is a truly special place to set up camp. Site 1 is our newest site, it’s a cosy, creekside campsite well suited to couples or small groups with up to two tents. With the creek gently flowing past, the site offers a calm, relaxed setting that feels close to nature without being overly secluded or remote. Festoon lights provide a warm glow in the evenings, while the fire pit and picnic table make it easy to settle in and enjoy slow nights by the water. The smaller scale creates an intimate feel, ideal for guests who want a simple, comfortable base with atmosphere rather than excess space. If you’re looking for a quiet, creekside camp with character—perfect for couples or a small group—Site 1 offers an easy, inviting place to set up and unwind. Camp 4 is a deliberately private, single-booking campsite tucked away in the heart of Oldina, Tasmania. Surrounded by protected bushland and flanked by a serene creek, this site offers complete seclusion for your group—no shared spaces, no interruptions, just the natural environment and your party. Designed for self-contained campers, Camp 4 accommodates rooftop tents, traditional tents, caravans (up to 20 ft), camper trailers, and hiace-style vans. Large Winnebago-style vans and buses are not suitable. While 2WD vehicles can access the site, we recommend using a 4x4 when towing for your safety and to protect the tracks. The site is naturally sheltered, offering protection from the elements while immersing you fully in the sights and sounds of Tasmania’s wild landscape. Silver wattles, ferns, and native flora create a tranquil, photogenic environment perfect for a summer getaway, family retreat, or quiet nature escape. Campsite 6 is a brand new spacious, level site set in a quiet valley beneath tall wattle trees. A fern-lined creek runs along one side, offering a beautiful natural boundary and a place to explore or simply sit beside the water. The waterfalls are just 200 m upstream, an easy walk for those who want to visit or swim. Back at camp, the setting is peaceful, private, and designed for families or groups who want to camp together without interruption. The entire site is yours alone to enjoy—no sharing, no neighbours, just space and seclusion surrounded by nature. This site is perfect for tents, rooftop tents, camper trailers, vans and caravans up to 20 foot. Note: Large caravans (20 foot +), buses, and large motorhomes will find it difficult to get in and out of the campsite. For safety and to reduce damage to the gravel tracks, please engage 4x4 when towing vans/trailers throughout the property.

Just a short 100-metre stroll from the carpark and across a charming wooden footbridge, this gently sloped, grassy glamping site is perched at the top of our spectacular upper waterfalls 💦 (one of three private waterfalls guests can explore on the property). With the creek bubbling past and a refreshing natural swimming hole nearby, it’s an immersive and rejuvenating bush escape, perfect for a cool dip on warm Tasmanian days. 🌿 No need to haul tents or heavy gear — this unique site includes exclusive use of our two lovingly restored vintage Ladybug caravans, Honey and Wattle, providing cosy sleeping for up to 6 pepole in total (3 double beds). These character-filled vans offer a comfortable and nostalgic base, tucked away in a peaceful bush setting. The site is fully equipped for relaxed outdoor cooking, featuring a dedicated camp kitchen with BBQ, gas stove, basic pots, pans, and utensils. Fresh spring water is available on tap at the site for washing up and general use (note: this water is not a registered drinking supply — please boil, treat, or bring your own potable water for drinking and cooking). You’ll also enjoy a picnic table, firepit 🔥for story telling and marshmallow roasts, and soft festoon lighting strung through the trees for magical evenings under the stars. There is ample space for additional tents if larger groups wish to join. Guests have easy access to the nearby composting toilet and our much-loved tree swing. Important facility notes: There is currently no shower facilities on the property — embrace the rustic Tasmanian bush experience with creek swims or bring your own portable setup if needed. Drift off to the soothing sound of falling water, wake to birdsong, and truly unwind. A delightful spot to spend time camping. Peter and Kim greeted us as we were setting up and communication with them was excellent. We enjoyed our stay with friends with so much room! The fire pit on this site was amazing it worked so well. The wildlife must have been a little shy as we only spotted a few pademelons and a noisy possum in the tree. (Maybe we were to noisy! ;) It was very private, and we would love to come back soon. Be aware there is no phone signal on this site but there is if you wander further up the driveway.

Stayed at campsite 4. Met Peter, who was very friendly and informative. During the past 50 plus years I have camped in all states and territories in Australia, and this is my favourite. Extremely spacious and private. A wonderful all weather gravel track. Wonderful listening to the cascading water flowing over the rocks in front of us. A lot of effort has been put into placing hundreds of little painted ladybugs on trees, table and rocks around the campgrounds here. We were able to check out campsite six, as it was vacant, and it’s equally beautiful. Had five very tame pademelons visit us regularly. We also had wood provided for a campfire. The hammock was a treat. The vegetation surrounding our camp was beautiful.The location is also central to so many tourist towns and attractions. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

We stayed on campsite 4, great spot near the river. We had a 13 m set up car and Van managed to turn it around and park it down near the river. Peter came along introduced himself and then was kind enough to show us around his property to all the waterfalls and inform us that they had large freshwater crayfish which that afternoon we spotted. One must’ve been a foot in size it was massive really cool. Just a few tips. I’d probably engage low range drive if you’ve got a big rig coming down and EG the same on the way out, all in all great spot great host. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved the Water Fall. Spring water lovely to drink. The toilet was super handy. Very large campsites and extremely private. Beautiful natural features and well maintained. Hosts were very accommodating and looked after us so well. Would definitely stay there again.

Lady Bug Campsites is one of the top camping experiences I’ve come across in Tassie. Thoughtful set up next to a beautiful creek abundant with wildlife (including platypus!). The outdoor cinema was a touch of luxury. Looking forward to visiting again.

Superb, tranquil spot with a hammock right next to a bubbling creak with towering man ferns, a little swimming hole upstream for hot days and a fire pit for the cooler nights. Well worth venturing off the highway to find this surprising property. The campsites are very generous in size and thoughtfully spaced so it was remarkably peaceful. The glossiest nature loo I’ve ever encountered! We booked for one night, stayed for two… and will definitely be back.

We all had such an amazing time at Ladybug Campground. Peter and Kim were wonderful hosts and really went out of their way for my partner’s birthday. The property is absolutely stunning and lots of scenery to be found (even a secret waterfall!). The dogs loved the wide open green grass and we enjoyed swimming in the water holes. Peter and Kim have put a lot of love into the property and it shows. Thanks and we can’t wait to come back again!

Ladybug camping is a beautiful and peaceful spot to camp. We appreciated the close proximity to the toilet (which was so clean!) and the water tap right at our site. Having the creek right next to us with the festoon lights overhead made it so picturesque, and we enjoyed walking over to the waterfall. This was our first time hipcamping and it was so easy. As we were leaving we were already deciding which campsite to book next time ☺️

We had the most lovely relaxing stay at Peter and Kim’s Stunning property. Our group of 3 families had campsite 6 all to ourselves. Our campsite was in a beautiful secluded spot right next to the river which the kids loved playing in and it was only a couple of minutes walk from our site to a waterfall and swimming spot. We made great use of the picnic tables and firepits which were provided. Peter and Kim were lovely and communicative hosts who went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay and even took us on a tour to see the other campsites which were all lovely and each had their own unique feel. Campsite 6 is perfect for larger groups or multiple families camping together. Ladybug is in a great location and we found it a great base to explore the area- only 25 minutes to boat harbour and sisters beach. We also had a great day trip to Stanley and ‘The Nut’ and crayfish creek. This was a memorable trip and we will definitely be returning

A must-see!!!! Kim and Peter's little paradise is a gem!!! The setting is idyllic, the pitches are spacious and well separated, ensuring great privacy. The facilities are spotless. If you're lucky, you might even see a platypus! Peter will welcome you with great kindness and a wonderful smile.

I think paradise and commitment to make an amazing spot, its the best way to describe this place. The whole land its magical, the forest, the trees, the creek crossing the camp, the waterfall. But also, how Peter and Kim are taking care of this place make the things much more special. You can see how they are working hard to keep everything tidy and beautiful. And I think the cherry on the top of the cake is how private each camp site is. Im so glad. We left the place already planning our next trip there.

This was our first trip to Ladybug and it won't be our last! It is evident a lot of love has gone in to developing the campsites with the comfort of guests in mind. From providing a compostable toilet, to ambient lighting, spacious and private sites, firepits, to picnic tables and chairs. Every need, covered. This isn't just any ordinary camp ground. You are surrounded by nature, a creek and private waterfalls. It's a paradise. We can't wait to come back ❤️

A beautiful secluded spot amongst the forest, creek and waterfalls, we rented a movie projector and our campsite was already setup with fairy lights, table and fire pit. We will definitely be back 🙌

Wow!!! What an amazing part of the world!! Peter and Kim and their darling children were so welcoming.. you have the whole space to yourself and your group of friends. Going to sleep listening to the water run over the rocks was so soothing.. wildlife in abundance.. we loved it so much we have already rebooked 5 stars

I stayed at Campsite 3 and it was absolutely stunning!! perfectly positioned close to the top waterfall. Falling asleep to the sound of running water and waking up surrounded by nature was something special. The site felt very private and peaceful, with plenty of space and a great setup. The whole property is incredibly well cared for and has a calm, secluded feel while still being easy to access. It honestly felt more like a hidden bush retreat than a campground. Peter and Kim have created something really special here. I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic escape in Tasmania. I’d definitely come back.

Ladybug camping, hands down our MOST favourite place to camp. What Peter & Kim have done is second to none. An absolutely beautiful piece of paradise. Huge private sites with festoon lighting, waterfalls and swimming holes so perfect you forget that you are still so close to home and not a million miles away from everyday life. Wildlife, forest, ferns, and falls, peaceful, private, serene, there really is no perfect word to explain the natural beauty that is Ladybug Camping. There is only one downside.....going home. I would be happy to stay there forever. Thank you so much Peter and Kim for all your hard work, and for giving us the privilege of sharing your piece of Tasmanian paradise.

The most beautiful camp grounds and its extremely evident how much love and care has gone into the property. Sites are very generous and private, toilet was clean and fresh and the cart for bringing belongings across the bridge was such an appreciated thought. Have already recommended to family and friends.

Ladybug campground is an absolute dream. We stayed at site 6, and other than the beautiful owners, we saw (or heard) no other campers even though they were fully booked. We played in the river, walked to one of the waterfalls, panned for gold, had campfires and made very special memories, ones we will cherish forever. Ladybug is a special place and one we can't wait to return to.
