Prossers Ridge Richmond is 52 acres of rural paradise within close proximity to the heritage town of Richmond. The topography slopes up from the road to a large flat top and is dotted with weathered gum trees. There are sweeping views in all directions, including a view of the sunrise to the east and spectacular sunset views toward Hobart's Kunanyi (Mount Wellington).
The property has good access for all vehicles and there are plenty of flat sites for camping at the top of the property. Some minor leveling may be required in parts for RVs and Caravans. Plenty of space though to find your own peaceful, private patch. And you're welcome to bring your dog along too!
Please note: some front wheel drive motorhomes have encountered difficulty getting up the driveway. If you have rented a Fiat Motorhome you wont be able to get to the campground
We have one toilet available for shared use, self contained campers are encouraged to use their own facilities where possible.

Camp and fish just a stonesthrow from one of Tasmania's most stunning natural landscapes, Cradle Mountain. Here you'll find nature at its best, just 10 minutes drive from the Cradle Mountain Visitors centre, the perfect base for discovering this magical area.
Our campsites are on scenic, levelled areas overlooking the large dam and bushland, with grassed areas ideal for tents and camper-vans, and a portaloo a short walk away. The block is a natural timber and grassland block, with devils, quolls and wombats also residing here. We have one powered site available, and multiple unpowered sites.
There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife.

As we are a fully self contained campground we do not provide power, toilets or showers. You'll need to have your own amenities and discard of any rubbish .

Huntsman Lake is a great favourite of fly fishermen and kayakers alike, there is also a very pleasant picnic grounds there, swimming hole and boat ramp.
The village of Meander is 4 kms away offering a wonderful cafe , where the staff are friendly and the hamburgers , coffee and cakes are fantastic.
As we have no facilities on our farm yet, so we ask that all campers must be fully self contained, with their own toilet , water and power.

Very private valley nestled between two mountainous sandstone ranges. 3.5 kilometers from Colebrook. The property in total size is 37 hectares half of which is gently undulating grassland slopes. These slopes lead to the banks of the beautiful Iles Creek which runs nearly all year round. The western range across the creek includes numerous caves within comfortable walking distance. The highest cave provides magnificent views to the East coast.
Camping options include non-designated sites either side of the creek under the huge black-wood trees, restricted to 4-wheel drive vehicles during winter and spring months, with a secluded site with year-round access for all vehicles.
At the entrance sits the first of the designated sites, the rest are accessed via the meandering road down 300 or so meters to the camping ground entrance for the other two sites. The last 500-700 meters of Yarlington road leading to the entrance is quite steep. Some two wheel drive vehicles towing large vans have found this challenging, while others haven't.
The two main camping areas now have a 'bush loo' in each site. if you wish to use these please use your own paper. Also, now for camper convenience the whole area has access to the campers' lounge and resource shelter. It contains First Aid and snake bite first aid kits. Water is available here. This reconstructed building was once The Campania Scouts and guides, hall.

Very private valley nestled between two mountainous sandstone ranges. 3.5 kilometers from Colebrook. The property in total size is 37 hectares half of which is gently undulating grassland slopes. These slopes lead to the banks of the beautiful Iles Creek which runs nearly all year round. The western range across the creek includes numerous caves within comfortable walking distance. The highest cave provides magnificent views to the East coast.
Camping options include non-designated sites either side of the creek under the huge black-wood trees, restricted to 4-wheel drive vehicles during winter and spring months, with a secluded site with year-round access for all vehicles.
At the entrance sits the first of the designated sites, the rest are accessed via the meandering road down 300 or so meters to the camping ground entrance for the other two sites. The last 500-700 meters of Yarlington road leading to the entrance is quite steep. Some two wheel drive vehicles towing large vans have found this challenging, while others haven't.
The two main camping areas now have a 'bush loo' in each site. if you wish to use these please use your own paper. Also, now for camper convenience the whole area has access to the campers' lounge and resource shelter. It contains First Aid and snake bite first aid kits. Water is available here. This reconstructed building was once The Campania Scouts and guides, hall.

Firewood is provided for the hot tub, you may buy wood on site for your individual campfires. The hot Tub is not for wild parties, but to relax and view the native wild life, quietly watch the platypus in their natural environment.
Please note, we accept one camper trailer/caravan per booking. If you are traveling in a group with multiple caravans, you will need to book multiple sites - but will still be able to camp close together although we dont allow big noisy, disruptive groups anymore! Beautiful peaceful spot nestled on a working dairy farm next to the Ringarooma river and has its own platypus population. HUGE Level sites, fire pits with wood available on site. Bikes, kayaks and other things available for use of campers. Town of Derby with walking distance and Branxholm on a few km away. However, you would think you are in the middle of nowhere. Easy access with our 21ft van. Rosie, our host, visits daily and is very friendly and helpful. We will return.

Our stay at Ladybug Camping was a truly special experience. The campsites are wonderfully secluded and private, and it’s clear that Peter and Kim have put a lot of thought and care into creating such a magical place—no doubt with a little inspiration from a special someone else in the family.
We stayed at Campsite 6, which is very generously sized and would easily accommodate multiple families camping together. We also had a look at Campsite 4, which looked equally inviting, with even a hammock offering a perfect spot to relax.
The track in is well-made and easy to navigate—again, a sign that real effort and investment has gone into making the experience smooth and enjoyable.
This Hipcamp is about as good as it gets for self-sufficient campers. A serene, magical forest setting, complete with your own creek gently bubbling nearby, makes it incredibly easy to unwind. One thing that’s probably underappreciated is how well protected the valley is from the often blustery Tassie westerly winds—if it’s windy, this is exactly where you want to be!
Peter is a fantastic host and a great communicator. Thank you—we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely love to return.

Plenty of great fire pots sprinkled around and friendly owners who played Easter bunny and helpers hopping around the camp site with choc eggs for everyone. We loved the experience of camping on Site 6. It was so peaceful and relaxing down by the river. The area was well maintained and easy to find a flat area to set the van up on. The picnic table and fire pit was a very welcome addition and we enjoyed both. We enjoyed a walk to the waterfall and the scenery was spectacular. I would highly recommend this place but just remember that you need a 4W drive to get in and out as the road is a little steep in parts.

What an outstanding site. We have stayed before on the top level ( 3 trees).
This site offers a little more protection for the wind and has a different perspective to the amazing vista.
Huge grassed area that is easy to access and mostly flat.
You may need to share with others but there is plenty of room so no dramas with that.
Our host was very attentive when it mattered... getting to the correct location, but then left us to enjoy the serenity.
She then answered any queries promptly...so top marks.
Phone reception is very limited from this site, which can be a good thing.
Good reception is available from the top of the hill if you need to stay in contact.

Ladybug Hipcamp was a perfect getaway for us. The sites are large, well grassed and level. They are also well positioned to ensure privacy, have proper fire pits and even have cute mood lighting. Peter and Kim came and said g'day with the kids who brought Easter eggs. A genuinely lovely experience. Definitely recommend this Hipcamp.
