Camp and fish just a stonesthrow from one of Tasmania's most stunning natural landscapes, Cradle Mountain. Here you'll find nature at its best, just 10 minutes drive from the Cradle Mountain Visitors centre, the perfect base for discovering this magical area. Our campsites are on scenic, levelled areas overlooking the large dam and bushland, with grassed areas ideal for tents and camper-vans, and a portaloo a short walk away. The block is a natural timber and grassland block, with devils, quolls and wombats also residing here. We have one powered site available, and multiple unpowered sites. There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife. A keen fisher? Throw a line in at our other dam and catch your dinner! Nothing beats fresh fish, that you caught yourself, cooked on a campfire.

Camping/fishing
Amazing view from camping areas. Just because I didn’t catch any fish didn’t mean they weren’t there, I saw some monsters.

Cradle Mountain Fishery and Camping
We loved Cradle Mountain Fishery and Camping. We parked up at the top smaller dam for a more secluded stay, although it was a hub for the kids to play so we met a couple of other lovely travelling families to walk Cradle Mountain and share a fire with. Cradle Mountain is only a short 10-15 min drive away and it’s so peaceful with the two dams and plenty of animals roaming free. We saw at least 15 Tassie Pademelons on Scott’s front lawn. Scott was a great host and very helpful (especially with the fishing tips). Thanks for having us!

Trout fishing and camping
Wonderful spot to camp just outside the NP. We got bogged ( but got ourselves out) and "roughed up" some turf. Scott immediately fixed it with good cheer. We also observed him helping youngsters how to fish for trout. He came over every day to say hello but didn't intrude. It was a beautiful, peaceful place and we saw several " day trippers" fishing. Scott was the consummate host.

Cradle Mountain Fishery and Camping
Lovely clear camping area with good view over the dam. Very clean "flushing" loos. Fire pots/fire wood available for extra $. Host Scott is a nice, genuine person and great to talk to. Fishing is extra but just watching feeding time is entertaining. Really enjoyed our stay.

Cradle Mountain Fishery and Camping
Our stay at Cradle Mountain Fishery and Camping was awesome! Great location near Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. Such a beautiful piece of land with the dam and wildlife roaming around. Easy access to camp spots, levelled and has picnic tables all around the property! Would definitely recommend!
