Prossers Ridge Richmond is 52 acres of rural paradise within close proximity to the heritage town of Richmond. The topography slopes up from the road to a large flat top and is dotted with weathered gum trees. There are sweeping views in all directions, including a view of the sunrise to the east and spectacular sunset views toward Hobart's Kunanyi (Mount Wellington).
The property has good access for all vehicles and there are plenty of flat sites for camping at the top of the property. Some minor leveling may be required in parts for RVs and Caravans. Plenty of space though to find your own peaceful, private patch. And you're welcome to bring your dog along too!
Please note: some front wheel drive motorhomes have encountered difficulty getting up the driveway. If you have rented a Fiat Motorhome you wont be able to get to the campground

I offer private bush camping beside a small lake on a 103-acre rainforest property. Only one group is allowed at a time, making this an exclusive camping and bushwalking experience. Guests also enjoy private walking-track access into Tasman National Park, including routes toward Tunnel Bay and Shipstern Bluff.
A toilet is available in the owner’s home, and fresh drinking water is provided. Stays are limited to a single group, with a maximum of four people, so the space is entirely yours to explore in peace.
Please note that the driveway is not suitable for large campervans. Two-wheel drive vehicles are generally fine, but care is required. There may also be an opportunity to arrange a short extended stay in exchange for light gardening work, by prior discussion.
Important: This is not a party property. It is a private residence in a uniquely quiet and secluded location on the edge of a high-value national park. Playing loud music or behaving in a drunken, antisocial, or otherwise disrespectful manner will result in the owner contacting the police. Please keep this in mind before booking to avoid any issues.

Mountain River is a rural valley under the kunanyi/Wellington Range, in the Huon Valley, just half an hour from Hobart. Mountain River itself is a small river flowing from the back of kunanyi and joining the Huon River near Huonville. There are swimming holes in the river for the brave… it’s very cold!
Campsites are located on the riverbank, near the home or further afield.

This is a great base for exploring the entire Huon area, from the nearby mountains to the Hartz Mountains, Hastings Caves, the Tahune AirWalk, and even the end of the road in Australia at Cockle Creek. All of these are possible as day trips.

Very private valley nestled between two mountainous sandstone ranges. 3.5 kilometers from Colebrook. The property in total size is 37 hectares half of which is gently undulating grassland slopes. These slopes lead to the banks of the beautiful Iles Creek which runs nearly all year round. The western range across the creek includes numerous caves within comfortable walking distance. The highest cave provides magnificent views to the East coast.
Camping options include non-designated sites either side of the creek under the huge black-wood trees, restricted to 4-wheel drive vehicles during winter and spring months, with a secluded site with year-round access for all vehicles.
At the entrance sits the first of the designated sites, the rest are accessed via the meandering road down 300 or so meters to the camping ground entrance for the other two sites. The last 500-700 meters of Yarlington road leading to the entrance is quite steep. Some two wheel drive vehicles towing large vans have found this challenging, while others haven't.
The two main camping areas now have a 'bush loo' in each site. if you wish to use these please use your own paper. Also, now for camper convenience the whole area has access to the campers' lounge and resource shelter. It contains First Aid and snake bite first aid kits. Water is available here. This reconstructed building was once The Campania Scouts and guides, hall.

There is an undercover outdoor small kitchen with a 2 burner gas stovetop, basic kitchenware (with hand-held coffee grinder and aeropress), sink, solar lighting and rechargeable camping lanterns.
The toilet is a private eco-throne with a view to Bare Rock. It is composting and only a short walk from the cabin.
We provide you with wood for the indoor wood stove, an esky, bed linen, towels, tea-towels, basic kitchenware, cooking basics and toilet paper.
The kitchen sink and bath water comes from a spring fed dam, perfect for washing your dishes and bathing in. Please bring your own fresh drinking water.
Please note this is rustic accommodation, the cabin doesn’t have 240v, only a solar powered charging port with USB-A/C inputs to recharge the camping lanterns and your devices. You may wish to bring head torches for night time reading and card games!
There is no wifi available but there is strong mobile phone service.
Fingal is fondly known by the locals as "the Valley", and hosts several coffee and food vans for travellers passing through. Our property runs beef and cultivates crops alongside the Ringarooma river, North East Tasmania. We often host mountain bike riders here to access the world-class trails at Derby. Nearby are many marked mountain trails, and numerous falls. Skiing is 1hr away in the winter.
Our camping site is alongside cattle grazing paddocks and the Ringarooma river, and we offer one site only, to one group at a time, so it's yours exclusively. A toilet is available nearby.
A gravel track descends to the river with a short steep bank preceding the flats. When the track reaches the river the camping site is just through the gate on the right. One gate and two wire gates may require opening on the way and these gates need to be closed again to prevent cattle from wandering. Electrical fencing is in use and alive - please be careful!
Wood for your campfire is available to purchase, $15. I can supply fresh sourdough loaves $6 also fresh eggs $3perhalf doz, and fresh cows milk most of the year $5/2L. Fly fish for trout and cook over the coals for a treat.
Welcome to bring your dog along, but please keep them under control.

I offer private bush camping beside a small lake on a 103-acre rainforest property. Only one group is allowed at a time, making this an exclusive camping and bushwalking experience. Guests also enjoy private walking-track access into Tasman National Park, including routes toward Tunnel Bay and Shipstern Bluff.
A toilet is available in the owner’s home, and fresh drinking water is provided. Stays are limited to a single group, with a maximum of four people, so the space is entirely yours to explore in peace.
Please note that the driveway is not suitable for large campervans. Two-wheel drive vehicles are generally fine, but care is required. There may also be an opportunity to arrange a short extended stay in exchange for light gardening work, by prior discussion.
Important: This is not a party property. It is a private residence in a uniquely quiet and secluded location on the edge of a high-value national park. Playing loud music or behaving in a drunken, antisocial, or otherwise disrespectful manner will result in the owner contacting the police. Please keep this in mind before booking to avoid any issues.
Due to serious fire risk and the potentially devastating impact on the surrounding area, campfires are highly restricted and permitted only in safe weather conditions, as determined by the owner.
This property offers a rare opportunity to experience a truly special part of the world in peace. No crowded car parks. No tourists. No noise. The nearest neighbour is over 1 km away. With no light pollution and sweeping views toward the Southern Ocean, it’s an exceptional spot for stargazing—and even for seeing the Aurora, which can occur here (check Aurora alerts for updates).
You’ll have access to your own private walking track into the national park, along with a vast natural area to explore. The property is largely undisturbed temperate rainforest, featuring creeks, springs, a 35-metre waterfall (after good rain), incredible plant and animal diversity, and countless places to wander at your leisure.
You may even spot a resident Tasmanian devil, and you’ll certainly be surrounded by native marsupials—plus the occasional enthusiastic greeting from my doodle dog, Roo.

There is a lovely walking track around the dams periphery. Feed fish from the edge, spot platypus frolicking about, and keep your eye out for Peacocks wandering the property too. Whilst you are welcome to bring your dog with you, please ensure they don't harass the wildlife.

Mountain River is a rural valley under the kunanyi/Wellington Range, in the Huon Valley, just half an hour from Hobart. Mountain River itself is a small river flowing from the back of kunanyi and joining the Huon River near Huonville. There are swimming holes in the river for the brave… it’s very cold!
Campsites are located on the riverbank, near the home or further afield.
Caravans and large Motorhomes cannot be accommodated. Rental vans - Apollo /Maui etc, are fine.
This is a great base for exploring the entire Huon area, from the nearby mountains to the Hartz Mountains, Hastings Caves, the Tahune AirWalk, and even the end of the road in Australia at Cockle Creek. All of these are possible as day trips.

Very private valley nestled between two mountainous sandstone ranges. 3.5 kilometers from Colebrook. The property in total size is 37 hectares half of which is gently undulating grassland slopes. These slopes lead to the banks of the beautiful Iles Creek which runs nearly all year round. The western range across the creek includes numerous caves within comfortable walking distance. The highest cave provides magnificent views to the East coast.
Camping options include non-designated sites either side of the creek under the huge black-wood trees, restricted to 4-wheel drive vehicles during winter and spring months, with a secluded site with year-round access for all vehicles.
At the entrance sits the first of the designated sites, the rest are accessed via the meandering road down 300 or so meters to the camping ground entrance for the other two sites. The last 500-700 meters of Yarlington road leading to the entrance is quite steep. Some two wheel drive vehicles towing large vans have found this challenging, while others haven't.
The two main camping areas now have a 'bush loo' in each site. if you wish to use these please use your own paper. Also, now for camper convenience the whole area has access to the campers' lounge and resource shelter. It contains First Aid and snake bite first aid kits. Water is available here. This reconstructed building was once The Campania Scouts and guides, hall.

There is an undercover outdoor small kitchen with a 2 burner gas stovetop, basic kitchenware (with hand-held coffee grinder and aeropress), sink, solar lighting and rechargeable camping lanterns.
The toilet is a private eco-throne with a view to Bare Rock. It is composting and only a short walk from the cabin.
We provide you with wood for the indoor wood stove, an esky, bed linen, towels, tea-towels, basic kitchenware, cooking basics and toilet paper.
The kitchen sink and bath water comes from a spring fed dam, perfect for washing your dishes and bathing in. Please bring your own fresh drinking water.
Please note this is rustic accommodation, the cabin doesn’t have 240v, only a solar powered charging port with USB-A/C inputs to recharge the camping lanterns and your devices. You may wish to bring head torches for night time reading and card games!
There is no wifi available but there is strong mobile phone service.
Fingal is fondly known by the locals as "the Valley", and hosts several coffee and food vans for travellers passing through. Fingal is located just 15 mins to local township St Marys, where you'll find IGA Supermarkets and the popular pub/restaurant St Marys Hotel. Our property runs beef and cultivates crops alongside the Ringarooma river, North East Tasmania. We often host mountain bike riders here to access the world-class trails at Derby. Nearby are many marked mountain trails, and numerous falls. Skiing is 1hr away in the winter.
Our camping site is alongside cattle grazing paddocks and the Ringarooma river, and we offer one site only, to one group at a time, so it's yours exclusively. A toilet is available nearby.
A gravel track descends to the river with a short steep bank preceding the flats. When the track reaches the river the camping site is just through the gate on the right. One gate and two wire gates may require opening on the way and these gates need to be closed again to prevent cattle from wandering. Electrical fencing is in use and alive - please be careful!
Wood for your campfire is available to purchase, $15. I can supply fresh sourdough loaves $6 also fresh eggs $3perhalf doz, and fresh cows milk most of the year $5/2L. Fly fish for trout and cook over the coals for a treat.
Welcome to bring your dog along, but please keep them under control.

For the nature and adventure lovers. Perfect little getaway for people who love being outdoors. It was windy for my visit, but I loved doing art/ painting inside, as well as being in the bath letting the winds blow over while I enjoy the view. It's such a cosy spot. Tending to the bath and pot-belly were highlights. It's a little sketchy going up the driveway in a van, but completely doable.

Ladybug Hipcamp was a perfect getaway for us. The sites are large, well grassed and level. They are also well positioned to ensure privacy, have proper fire pits and even have cute mood lighting. Peter and Kim came and said g'day with the kids who brought Easter eggs. A genuinely lovely experience. Definitely recommend this Hipcamp.

Valley's Nest is a dream! My third stay and I'm in love. The birdlife is amazing. Eagles, Black Cockatoos, Magpies, Scarlett Robins and more. The campsite was absolutely incredible, with breathtaking views that made the whole experience feel special. Scott was a wonderful host! He was friendly, helpful and welcoming. The facilities were excellent, including clean toilets, BBQ areas, fishing and canoeing, and a convenient space to wash up. Free WiFi was available, which added extra convenience. Firewood was also available for purchase, perfect for keeping warm and enjoying a cozy fire in the evenings. My wife and I had a wonderful time!

What a great view, the owners have made some pads for campers to level out the ground. There is a toilet available at the main house. There are some geese on the property which may be a bit noisy. Otherwise it's a nice and quiet place

John and Leslie were very welcoming. We decided to camp for the night of NUTOPIA - held on the 1st April each year, on their farmstay, which, was amazing 👏 music, hospitality, laughter and friendly people and delicious curry and hazelnuts! We'll be back for sure. The camp spot is located on a gorgeous piece of land.

Easy to follow directions to get there with good roads. If you enjoy complete peace and quiet with just the sounds of birds, chickens and the occasional piglet then this is the place for you. We had a good nights sleep with no road noise. They do have a couple of portaloos if you need to use them. Would recommend this Hipcamp and would definitely consider visiting on our next trip to Tassie.

We enjoyed our recent stay at Mount Gnomon Farm. The views are spectacular at any time of the day. Family and pet friendly location. Relatively easy instructions to follow. Bonus with the restaurant on site for weekend feeds. We was lucky enough to time our visit with live music, sampled local beers and house cider and the farm to table was perfect. Only negative is there could have been more attention given to amenities, and we couldn't locate the shower easily (or at all). Remi the farm dog was friendly and would freely roam, so if you dont have pets that enjoy others company be mindful when considering this location. Overall we will definitely be back in the future.

We had an amazing time camping here. The views were spectacular and it was incredible seeing so many wallabies and other wildlife. The pesky possum's gave us a fright the first night but then left us alone after that. The camp site was very clean and well maintained and barely a bug in sight. We especially appreciated the shack to cook our dinner in and the ye old bush loo with a view. We took the short hike up the bush track to visit the cave, said hello to the Alpacas who greeted us on the way in to the camp, and explored the old school house. Gordon was a very welcoming host providing the history of the property and brought us over a fire pit to use. We had a relaxing time full of laughs and will definitely be back again!

Wendy and Dale are super helpful and responsive. The camp grounds are clean/tidy and provided everything I needed for a weeks’ stay. The shower was hot/clean and as a solo female camper, I felt safe the whole time.
