Russell Falls Cottages at the entrance to Mt Field National Park offer self-contained, self-catering accommodation suitable for couples and families. Four spacious cottages – each set a comfortable distance apart on a beautiful piece of paradise . Also offering Unique warm Camping Pods with single, Queen and King beds. Camping sites also available. The property is surrounded by the Tyenna River and has an abundant of wildlife such as pademelons, possums, platypus, , Quolls, bandicoots, Eagles and other wildlife are frequently seen especially our resident echidna who wonders happily around the property. A footbridge across the river leads directly to Mount Field National Park, with the National Park Visitor’s Centre and the famous Russell Falls Waterfalls just meters away. The path passes through temperate tree fern rainforest, populated by glow worms. A minimum three nights stay is recommended as this area has so much to offer- Mt Fields walks and water falls- Junee caves- styx valley and land of the Giants- Strathgordon dam-creepy crawly walk-Lake Dobson- Rail track ride- Maydena adventure hub- Tassie bound adventures and you will need time to relax and enjoy Russell Falls cottages and the peaceful river, rain forest and birdlife.

At the entrance to Mt Field National park , Turn right down the driveway between the two big trees to your booked Riverside camp site. Park your van/Motorhome (Not suitable for tents) in our allocated camping area on the back gravel area of Russell Falls cottages and enjoy the peaceful surrounds of your camp site. Being a few meters from our large stretch of river enjoy the ever changing view of this body of water being on most days clear enough to clearly watch the platypus play and fish swim and other days view the river a bit higher, louder and not as calm. Walking distance to Russell Falls , so a night time adventure to see the glow worms is a must do. 100 meters from your camp site is a bathroom block which offers private large bathrooms with heaters as well as heat lamps. Also a laundry with washer and dryer. Gold coins required. Fire pits with wood avaliable for purchase. $70 for 2 persons $30 per extra adult. Kids under 12 $10

The Possum Camping Pod 3 is a unique camping experience. It is a 4 by 4 meter fully insulated wooden pod with a 1 meter under cover deck. Inside bed configuration is a Queen bed as well as a bunk bed. Queen Bed is fitted with electric blanket, fresh linen with a winter rated doona. Towels plates bowel cups cutlery is supplied. Provided with the nightly costing is a power supply pack that will power up your electric blanket, lights for 6 to 8 hours so best to be conservative with power used as battery not charged again till 10am. No heater provided but well insulated. In paddock area are picnic tables where you can quietly watch the river for the resident platypus and trout's or enjoy seeing the Eagles flying above you or share your space with the many possums and padymelons. Fire pits are available and wood can be purchased, please advise upon booking. A short walk to the amenity block which consists of x4 very large shared bathrooms with showers, sinks, bench chair and toilet. Toilet paper is provided . There is a laundry with speed queen washing and drying equipment which is coin operated, as no reception atm please remember to bring your own gold coins and laundry powder.

We provide you with a BBQ upon and if you are purchasing a park pass you are able to use the great BBQ facilities and shelters at Mt Field National Park which is a two minute walk from our cottages. Sleeps four comfortably in the same room. There is also a sofa couch that can be an extra double bed for children only. All cottages have a self contained kitchen, dining, lounge, laundry, bathroom and outside decking. Walking distance to Russell falls which has been voted the best waterfall in Tasmania! Guest access Cottages are located on a large property with two sides being the Tyenna river. Guests can walk over entire property and enjoy the open grassed area great for family fun, enjoy the River and the small beach area at the back of property. Walk into Mt Field National park where there is a kids park, bbq areas, and many short and long walks. There is also a cafe at the National Park. Other things to note The closest supermarket is at New Norfolk and it is recommended to bring your food with you to cottages as there is not much choice for meals. A unique accommodation experience. There are six 4-meter by 4-meter double insulated Camping pods. Each pod is supplied with 400amp power pack which will generate lights, electric blanket and phone for up to 8 hours. The heater provided will use up the power faster so guests need to be conservative with power consumption. Pods include x1 power supply unit, bath towels, a comfortable warm bed with top and bottom sheet, warm doona and spare blanket, picnic table, fire pit (May to September only as fire restrictions) (wood for purchase at $20 per bag (or small wheel barrow of kindling and wood), use of large bathroom and laundry facility. Power packs are recharged each day at 10am. Large private bathrooms and laundry located 100 meters from Pods Guests will walk from the front of their pod across the grass to the bathroom block. Although pods are off grid they are fitted out with a 400amp battery that if used conservatory will operate lights and electric blanket for 6 to 8 hours so must be used wisely as packs are recharged each morning at 10am. A lovely place to camp!

The camping area borders a beautiful stream - we ate breakfast at the picnic table next to it. Another camper told us they had seen platypus in that stream! The Mount Field National Park entrance is right across from Reception - you could walk from your campsite up to Russell Falls. Vicky has added amenities like fire pits and a shelter with BBQ's. The toilets and showers were clean and spacious. There is even a small kitchenette and laundry. Vicky was nice and accommodating when we came a bit later than expected. A lovely place to camp!

Great location with respect to being at the entrance to Mt Field NP. I was up early, so wandered into Russell Falls with a cup of tea, and didn’t see a soul! Definitely on the expensive side, but taking location into account, fair enough. Bathroom ammenities very spacious, and considering how busy the campsite was over the long weekend, they did a good job keeping them clean. As a tent camper, it was great having the ‘laundry’ set up for washing up, meaning I didn’t have to book water. Food van looked good value, but didn’t get a chance to try it out.

I’ve stayed at Russel Falls holiday cottages before and once again it was a pleasant experience. Beautiful location, clean campsites, helpful hosts. Would very much recommend.

One of the best places I’ve stayed at in Tasmania so far,👍🏻. Well priced, coffee cart, a toilet /shower facilities just great. Nice open lawn area for games, very large site areas on the river. Can’t fault it.

Thank you Vicky and family We enjoyed our stay very much. Had some lovely walks, enjoyed the peace and trees and river so much. We appreciated your facilities such as fridge, washing up station and clean bbqs. We enjoyed the many picnic tables around the campsite- shade or sun and often right by the river. Glorious. The clean and lovely hot showers at the end of each day were divine. Hope very much to return with more of our family another time. With gratitude, Kristy and Martin

We stayed here for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The sites were large with pristine garden areas and the bathrooms were new and clean. This Hipcamp is right on the river and immediately next door to Russell Falls. We walked there to look for glow worms as it got dark. There was a food truck at the front and firepits provided throughout the park. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

The positives; Location is great and only a short walk from the national park and cafe. There’s a good food trailer on-site also open to 8pm serving coffee, pies and chips etc. toilet and shower facilities almost brand new and free and the managers were helpful on check-in. Site is clean and well maintained. The negatives; We booked a site that indicated power was available however there were only two power outlets on site located next to the toilet/shower block and impossible to connect to. Other sites closer were touted as power being provided, however again there’s only two power outlets and several extension cords were needed to access power for those that did. The description of power being available at the site we booked was incorrect and inaccurate. Also whilst it was indicated our dog was allowed to stay on site, there’s a discrepancy between booking sites as the direct booking site indicates no pets allowed (as informed by the people occupying the site next to us).

I stayed for 2 nights in my tent. Conveniently located close to Mt Field National Park, it was a great base for exploring. Really nice to have hot showers, flushing toilets and an outlet to charge electronics. The aquaculture place next door made a bit of a humming noise, but I found that it was pleasant background white noise rather than annoying. Staff were friendly and good with directions.

The campsites are lovely and green with great proximity to the river and the national park. Only suggestion would be to clean the bathrooms more regularly when it's busy! Will be back!!

This was our favorite site from out trip to Tassie! It’s even nicer in person, owners were very nice, you can tell they’ve put a lot of work into the sites.

The campsite was great (better than it looks in the photos) and very close to the river. A water tap and camping tables with some shade were near the sites. The toilets were premium quality, very clean, and a great size. The campgrounds are within walking distance of the national park, which makes it easy to walk a different trek every day. I highly recommend it.

We stayed at a powered site. Location is beautiful - quite, in nature, not crowded. The national park and it's hikes are within 5-15mins of drive. Facilities are excellent - warm showers, huge common bathroom/toilets, kitchen with fridge, 2 big BBQs for common use and it was never busy. Service is phenomenal - Dan and Kay were amazing. They were helpful in relocating us when our Tesla wouldn't charge, lend us some pillows, and were just super nice in everyway. We were booked to stay for 2 of the 5 nights in Tasmania and ended up extending the stay for the entire time. It was that good!

We loved staying at Russell Falls camp grounds. The toilets were clean, there way plenty of potable water sources and it was an amazing location! The staff were warm and welcoming and the camping spots are spacious, perfect for tent camping or RV camping! Would definitely come back.

Gorgeous and comfortable campsites with nice hosts. They have fire pits laying around, and you can buy firewood from them, and have bbqs, laundry, toilets and showers. Nice to be on the river side.

being my first time in the area, it was very convenient for me to travel to MBP.the camp made it easy for me having the ammenities like toilet and hot shower. i didnt get to use the laundry and bbq. but it is there when needed. the place is neat, peaceful & relaxing. It is very safe as well. I got to just leave my tent for the day and it was still the same when I got back.I would definitely use their services again when I go back to Maydena
