We absolutely loved this place! We cam e in search of warmth as rain and wind pummelled our van, and man did it deliver. We enjoyed nightly fires in the quaint little hut and an outdoor wood-fired hot bath, plus spectacular scenery. Cheers for an incredible stay.

Amazing spot to camp that’s away from the public camp site. We’ll be back. Friendly and knowledgeable host who goes above and beyond. Beautiful bush lands, hut kitchen made things easier, having animals was a huge kit with the kids.

Excellent spot if you're hitting the Derby trails. Jonathan was great, even helped us out with a ground cover to stop us getting mud in our swags because it was a bit wet.

Jonathan is a great host. So many little extras at this camp. Very close to town. Communication is great. Planning a return visit with friends. Very quiet and peaceful at night. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you!

Derby Bush Bath Retreat
We had a lovely time at Jonathon’s place catching up with extended family.
Jonathon was genuinely interested in our experience while staying at his place, first with getting us settled and always responsive and happy to be helpful without being overbearing. We were pleased to find a Dutch oven in the rustic kitchen shelter to use in the fire drums provided for an outdoor cooking experience.
Jonathon has done landscaping work to make the campsite attractive to campers and the outlook to the surrounding hills is spectacular. We would recommend staying here.

What an awesome spot! Loved the camp, loved Derby. We ended up staying at extra night! The camp was beautiful and peaceful, but I only 2 mins from town. John was an amazing host - helping us out when the kids got sick, taking them for buggy rides and just being all all round nice guy. Would highly recommend this camp :)

Another Tasmanian 'funky' place. We were the only one's there and were able to have an open air bath, after firing up the 'donkey'. Great camp kitchen for those that need it and just 'something different'. Thanks

We loved staying at Jonathon’s place - it was great to meet him during our stay. Had a choice of sites which all had a great outlook. Very close to the trail heads, but far enough away to quiet. Our kids loved the space and my husband loved the outdoor bath after a days riding. We will be back for sure!

Got a nice little perch above the main area with a firepit and privacy for my rooftop tent 4wd. 👍 Night sounds were typical of the NE too with a few owls.🦉
Will be good to catch up with the host Jonathan next time too. Extremely helpful bloke with a wealth of knowledge for info on the area. 🍻

We loved camping on Johnathan’s block. It was very peaceful and Jonathan was the perfect host. The walk up to Kings Wall was lovely and the bush bath was a highlight!! The block is very close to town so convenient for the bike trails and to grab a shower at the public campsite. We would definitely come again and thoroughly recommend!!

We had a great stay at Jonathan's place - so quiet and great views from his block. He is a lovely host - so friendly and helpful about what to do in the area. We didn't get to use the bath but it would be perfect on a warmer stay.

What a great spot to camp. The only thing better, Jonathan, who would be one of the more knowledgeable and nicest guys we've met. The outdoor bath is a great idea and the little hut has cooking options and fireplace just adds to the mystic. Wonderful view over the valley with some wildlife visiting after dusk. Camp fire was brilliant to.

A very quiet and peaceful camp. Fresh free range eggs were such a bonus!

Jonathan was the absolute best host; he has set up a great environment and wanted to share the wonders of Tazzy. Derby is a super cute little town. We had two kids and they had a wonderful time playing with other guest.

Would an amazing HipCamp. Jonathan would be one of the most welcoming hosts we have ever had and what we really love about meeting people local to the area, he gave us so many tips including a secret little water hole he even joined us at. We were lucky enough to have the camp to ourselves so all enjoyed the bath.

Nice place, My girlfriend was looking forward to the bush bath but did not get it as you needed to pay another $20 for wood. Second day someone else camped on our spot even though we left a tent , table and ground sheet there. They where quiet enough though but we feel awkward moving camp right in front of their view as there is only limited space that is not sloping.
Overall beautiful views, nice guy, but mostly stayed at the trail heads all day with all the amenities you need for free where I will stay next time

Wow, I think this might just be the best Hipcamp in Tasmania! The location is amazing in itself, the outdoor bath is an experience to behold, but what really makes this place special is Johnathan. He genuinely takes an interest in you and makes you feel so at home going above and beyond with things like taking the kids on his tractor etc. Cannot recommended this place enough, 11/10!!!

Wonderful spot, quiet, great hosts - our boys enjoyed exploring the damn and short walks - mostly loved the friendly dog Millie.
Got to see a clear sky with the planets aligned - spectacular!

Lovely elevated spot next to bushland and a quick walk into town via the road or through bush trails. Jonathon was a lovely hosts with lots of interesting knowledge about local history. Creek and lake swims, walks with Millie the Kelpie, riding the bike trails and hot bath watching the sunset. Beautiful.
