Beautiful spot , relaxing and peaceful. James was a great host and couldn’t of been more helpful . The sauna and plunge pool were amazing . Will definitely be back and will definitely recommend to others

The setting was absolutely beautiful, however I feel it is a spring/summer camp due to tall trees not allowing much sunlight in the winter, also cold and damp. Also firewood provided was wet. A better cover over the firewood to protect from rain would be good.

Dragon River Campground
Dragon River Campground is an amazing place to unwind and recharge. The location is absolutely stunning, offering plenty of privacy and a real sense of escape from everyday life.
Graham was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.
For anyone looking for some genuine rest and relaxation, this is the perfect getaway. I highly recommend booking the sauna and plunge experience as well — it’s a fantastic addition and something truly special that takes your stay to the next level.
We’ll definitely be back!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The camp was extremely beautiful and very relaxing, we even saw a platypus. The plung pool and Sauna was amazing. We would highly recommend this Hipcamp.

Lovely private river camp. One of the best we have been to. Very easy access and nice flat areas to setup on. Fire pit provided and plenty of wood to keep warm during the Tassie winter nights

What's not to love.
Set on a beautiful river. Abundant native bird life.
Nature's finest animals, including a platypus.
Fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble with excellent communication skills.
And the whole camping area to ourselves and doggos.
I'll be sure to try the sauna and cold dip in the pool next time.

What a gorgeous spot, it's so peaceful and the wildlife is amazing. Even spotted a platypus in the river.
James was the perfect host and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend.

The Dragon River camp ground is one of the best places we have ever stayed! You have the whole massive site to yourselves and you are surrounded by lush green foliage with a river running past. We were lucky enough to get up early and see a platypus right near the site.
The owners have recently added a sauna and plunge pool, which looked fantastic!
This site was a highlight to our trip! Thanks James!

What a magnificant camp. Green grasss, crystal clear creek front with patypus, birds and the sound of running water. And the best part is you get the whole place to yourself. The free firewood is a bonus. We highly recommend it.

This is an absolutely magical piece of paradise, and im so pleased James and his Family decided to share it. Beautiful spot surrounded by the river. So tranquil. We were joined during the evening by a mother and baby possum each night, and had a visit from the curious Alpaccas. The stars are amazing to watch too. Next trip we are going to book the plunge pool and sauna. Yes, definately returning. James was a terriffic host. Thankyou!

It was a beautiful peaceful area, next to the river.
We very much enjoyed having this amazing spot all to ourselves. We got to see a platypus and had a visit from a very friendly possum.
We definitely plan to visit here again.

James's place was fantastic, not only do you get the entire campsite to yourself, you can have a camp fire and you can add on to your booking an hour long sauna and plunge pool session. I'd highly recommend trying it, especially after a day of mountain biking or hiking.
It was just so peaceful at our campsite, we set up beside the Ringarooma River watching the platypus play, we didn't want to leave. It's also a short walk or ride into the charming town of Branxholm. Where you will find the biggest & best lamb pie's I've ever tasted at Tin Timbers Cafe.
James and Graham (son & father) were so friendly and welcoming. They also have cabins onsite if your not into camping. It's a beautiful property that you don't want to miss.

We had the absolute best time camping at James, Graham and Christine’s place last weekend and couldn’t recommend it more! The space is perfectly secluded by the river where we even spotted a platypus frolicking in the water. The entire family were extremely welcoming and even allowed us to try some of their fresh produce and take it home! James and Graham have built their own sauna and plunge pool which are available to use for a small cost-an experience we absolutely loved before going to bed each night. Their hospitality throughout our stay was unparalleled and we’ve already booked our next weekend away to come back. Thank you for everything you did! Georgia and Kate :)

We loved the riverside location, the soft green grass and the curious lamas.
The best part however, was the sauna/cold plunge pool.... well worth the money.

Fabulous private large grassy site right by the river. Friendly hosts. They left us a huge pile of logs for the fire. Sadly Sauna was getting some maintenance done but would totally recommend this campsite - excellent stop and only a 500m walk to town.

What a beautiful spot! So close to the river and perfect having the place all to ourselves. We loved how quiet the camp is, except of course for the birds. A cheeky possum made an appearance our first night along with some chubby wallabies. So much to see with Mt Paris Dam, Derby and Ledgerwood so close. Communication with James was always prompt even when he was out bushwalking on the West Coast. He arranged for his Dad Graeme to meet us and relay anything we needed to know. A perfect spot to just relax and enjoy nature.

We loved this stay. The campsite is an absolutely beautiful place that is well protected and very private. The river is magic and the option to walk to town for a meal gave the kids something to look forward instead of another camp kitchen production! The welcome from James and Graham was terrific. An all round absolute gem that we look forward to visiting again.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful creekside Hipcamp. The setting was incredibly peaceful with no one else around, making it the perfect place to relax, unplug, and enjoy nature.
James was a fantastic host, friendly, responsive, and made everything easy from start to finish. The site felt private, well cared for, and truly special.
If you’re looking for a quiet, serene getaway with a great host and a gorgeous natural setting, this place is a total gem. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Fabulous place, quiet and peaceful next to the river. Got to see the local platypus and resident wombat! Lovely stay.
We may have had an issue getting out towing our van up the hill had it have rained however due to the beautiful green rolling hills of grass as a road into the camp area, luckily it didn't rain and we were fine
