The Little Garden Farm is a small farm with a private and exclusive Campsite - The Woodlander. The Little Garden Farm is a 100-acre forest and pasture farm that we began improving in 2023. The property is located at the base of Bruny's Isthmus, enjoying cool sea breezes in summer and mild temperatures in winter. The Woodlander Campsite is set in our bottom forest paddock, next to a dam, with a seasonal winter creek. It is private and peaceful, with no other campers, houses, or nearby neighbours. We welcome travellers, with up to two vehicles, who are here to enjoy the peace and quiet (no parties please). The campsite has its own separate access, site toilet, solid picnic table and chairs, firepit and and is approximately 600 meters from where we live. Next to 70 acres of forest the location is great for birdlife, with many of Tassie's endemics around, and other wildlife abundant after dark. We are always happy to help with birding or wildlife tips! Based approx 5 minutes from Alonnah and 10 minutes from Adventure Bay, the "Woodlander" is central to so much of what Bruny Island has to offer.Set up your caravan, RV, or camper trailer or pitch a tent, and light up your campfire ready for a relaxed and peaceful night at this private and nature-filled campsite.  Approximately 2kms from The Izzy Bar and Restaurant (cosy, great staff, great food and great views), 2kms from the Bruny Baker Bread Fridge and only a 5 minute drive to Hotel Bruny/Alonnah. Great for small or larger groups and fantastic for those who love a touch of Bird Spotting - The forest is a haven for many of Tasmania's Birds. The Woodlander is a private, gated/lockable site with a camp shelter to use for additional space or if the weather turns. Base price is for up to four guests. The site also has a sturdy picnic table and fire pit. Kindling is available about the farm. Bring your own extra firewood or purchase a bag/s of firewood at the extra section of the booking page. A site toilet is also available for those campers who do not have access to their own facilities. The campsite adjoins our 70-acre forest which is great for bird life with many of the Tasmanian endemics in the forest and other wildlife is abundant after dark. We live nearby (600m away) and are happy to help with birding or wildlife tips. Please note, this is a peaceful campsite ideal for those looking to relax in nature - it's not a place for parties or rowdy behaviour. Please come here, and enjoy the peace and quiet!

Our group found Rachel’s private camp spot just perfect for recharging our low social batteries over Easter. We arrived to a peaceful, tidy well set out camp site with, clean drop toilet, plenty of comfortable seating, tables, a safe wood fire to keep us warm and cosy and a hobbit hut to get out of the rain and wind should we need it. Waking up to the birds and gentle rustling of sun soaked leaves was just what the doctor ordered. The Woodlander is a tranquil private campsite, it feels miles away from everything but not too far from amenities should they be required. Thank you for having us Rachel, and the additional delivery of wood on Saturday. We all loved this camp spot and super keen to stay again 💜

We were thrilled to be staying in such a idilic location, tucked away amongst the trees and looking across the bull rushes. The Hobbit Hut was a welcome restore in which to pitch our swag on a cold and windy night. The real bonus was the carpet of stars above us. We would not hesitate to recommend the Woodlander to future travellers. Rachel was also a great communicator and most helpful. We had to smile at the attention to detail with the toilet paper folding too, 5 ⭐️ detail!

What a beautiful spot, peaceful, wildlife everywhere. A well built little shack for poor weather and a very civilised composting toilet were very welcome. Check in was smooth with excellent communication from the host. 10/10 would recommend.

What a beautiful peaceful campsite this is. Set not to far off the dirt and main rd, this suited us perfectly. The icing on the cake having it all to ourselves. The cute little hut was magnificent and the cookies to die for. It was so very central to all Bruny has to offer. Rachel was very helpful in her communications to us and we loved those cookies.

It's amazing the difference a few thoughtful fixtures can make to the comfort and ease of a camping experience. Loved this site, feels remote but nearby to lots of places and a great base to explore the island. Rachel was a helpful and quick communicator.

The Woodlander is beautifully set up with a composting dunny and a small hut that we could retreat into on a rainy day. Also has ability to have an outdoor fire. Rachel made us cookies which were welcomed whilst hiking. The native forest u are surrounded in is magical and personally we felt the whole experience a wonderful chance to unplug and enjoy the liberating feeling of being free from technology and the outside world. It is also very accessible to everywhere in Bruny including the famous Bruny Baker just down the road.

We loved it here so much! SO secluded and quiet, a real sanctury amongst the trees and wildlife. The drop toilet was very clean and nicer than most, and the little hut is a great option for having some shelter. Would recommend to anyone wanting a taste of wilderness!

What a beautiful peaceful spot to camp for our 2 nights on Bruny. Set up with just enough comforts to make the stay easier (ie composting toilet, undercover seating area & fire). We loved waking to all the different bird sounds. Would love to come back sometime.

Brilliant spot! A great spot to watch birds, the wildlife and we were treated to a show from the bats. A great base to visit the Island attractions from, everything is an easy distance away. Bring bug spray. The toilet was fantastic and the hut would have a a lovely place to ruddle in bad weather. I highly recommend and intend to come back.

This space was so wonderfully private and peaceful. The hobbit hut really separates this space from others, and makes camping here even more special, and it’s helpful for keeping things dry overnight if needed. It’s a great location on the island, too. Highly recommend this beautiful spot!

5/5 stars. The woodlander is a great spot and being right in the middle of North and south bruny, the location was extremely convenient to all the attractions. The site itself was secluded and peaceful and the wood heater was very welcome on the winter nights when we stayed. The hobbit hut made cooking a breeze and was a handy add-on.

The camp ground was clean and very well laid out. It rained heaps whilst we were there but the site handled the weather without any issues. The fire was great and the hobbit hut was a nice dry spot with the wet weather. This is a very good winter camp ground. We can't wait to try it in the summer.

Great private site by a waterhole with a little shelter shed (the Hobbit Hut), picnic table, wood stove and composting loo. The site is nice and flat with shady trees (but not too shady 🌞). The location is nice and central to alot of Bruny attractions and the hosts communicate really well.

Fantastic campsite on beautiful Bruny the hobbit hut was a godsend in the end as we had a couple of days of weather and it made it so much nicer to sit and cook undercover, even a couple of couches. Fireplace is a ripper. Location great to explore all the island. Thanks for a great few days.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Beautiful and peaceful surrounds and the hobbit hut was perfect place to keep the kids entertained and duck out of the light rain we had unexpectedly. Fantastic extras as well and we cannot wait to come back.
