Weekend Trip to TerraLyra Sanctuary Retreat

What a beautiful place it is, I loved my stay. Terralyra is a place for healing and sanctuary. The tent was large enough and the views from my tent were lovely. The showers and toilets were very clean, and Bush kitchen had everything I needed to cook and store my food. I enjoyed my coffee time sitting on the deck and inspired by reading the 4x4 adventure stories of Australia in a magazine that was left on the table. The host welcomed me and showed me everything I need to know during my stay, thank you Heather and Lousie, I will see you soon.

Hidden Paradise! We had a wonderfull stay and we loved the beautiful landscape. The owners are very lovely people and we felt safe everytime. The powered site fit our campervan 6m very well. Practical campkitchen, clean toilet and shower. We highly recommend this place!

Weekend Trip to TerraLyra Sanctuary Retreat

We had an incredible stay at this camp! It’s the perfect spot if you’re after peace, space, and a touch of comfort. We stayed on the 3 trees by the lake camp site where there was heaps of room to spread out and we were able to bring our dog along who absolutely loved it! We had a picnic by the dam for my birthday, and utilised the onsite kayaks for a paddle. There’s one flushing toilet, one shower and a camp kitchen that has everything you might need to cook up a good meal if you prefer to have your creature comforts on a camp trip. We loved exploring the bush walks around the property, and went spotlighting at night to see some gliders and possums in the trees. The owners Heather & Louise were incredibly friendly and welcoming, happy to help but also gave us plenty of space to enjoy the surroundings. All in all, it was one of the best camping experiences we’ve had! Highly recommend 😊

Weekend Trip to Macallon Farm Stay

Thank you to Michelle for fitting us in at the last minute and for her warm and friendly hospitality. She placed us at a lovely private campsite alongside a creek, with plenty of shade and a large fire pit. We woke up to some very curious alpacas and llamas peering at us over the fence, which was an unexpected highlight. The campsite was peaceful, and well maintained, and had the bonus of showers and toilets available for those not fully self-contained. We didn’t need to use them, but it would be an ideal setup for those camping in tents or camper trailers. A great spot for kids with the opportunity to feed the many animals onsite.

3 nights at Nature's Edge Cottage & Campsites.

Camped at Bamboozle. Site was flat with central fire place. We had lots of rain one night but it ran away from this spot quite quickly. Friendly host Glen introduced once we set up leaving us to enjoy the camp. Will rebook this spot in future camps.

Weekend Trip to Stargazers cabin

The Stargazers Cabin was a beautiful and unique stay with everything you need for a comfortable weekend away being supplied. The sunsets were beautiful to watch in the evening with the starry night sky taking over shortly after. The horses were so friendly and loved coming to say hello throughout the day. Hopefully we can go back soon.

A gorgeous camp ground that is also a great experience for children. Unfortunately we had to leave a night early as our little one was a bit unwell but we absolutely loved our short stay and will be returning at our earliest opportunity!

Beautiful property with dog proof fence and friendly horses. Lots of birds to watch during the day, and amazing views of the stars at night. The set up is super easy (one of the easiest camp/glamp set-ups I've been to) to navigate and extremely comfortable. We used the camp oven one night over the fire using some chilli and lemongrass from the garden. The free firewood provided was greatly appreciated. Take your food, drinks and everything else is ready for you. Highly recommend. Thank you Avon and Brian for having us and our 2 dachshunds.

4 nights at Macallon Farm Stay

We recently stayed at the Creek flat Tucked Away site at Macallon Farm Stay for 4 nights. The Host Michelle & her family were extremely accommodating. The kids had an absolute blast playing in the creek, they loved all the animals and the farm tour our whole family enjoyed. Michelle is a superwoman! She even helped me arrange a birthday cake for my husband which was soooo yummy and much appreciated. Showering under the stars was beautiful! The farm is so clean and tidy. Toilets close by and if you need anything you can just ask and they will help you. There was a coffee van because it was Easter weekend and it was dam good coffee!! Great family, our kids are begging to go back. Thank you again.

The site has power and water for your use but you are required to supply your own camping toilet (Please note if you arrive without a toilet you will be asked to leave) and remove all rubbish waste on departure. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash and under owners control at all times. Campfires are allowed in the fire pit provided and firewood is available at a small additional cost. Please keep your site clean and tidy and respect the natural environment and animals at all times.

Overview

Australia’s most appealingly named strip of waterfront, the Sunshine Coast is a laidback spot with golden beaches, surf breaks, and lush hinterland. With options ranging from holiday parks set right on the beach and rainforest campgrounds to glamping tents on the edge of pristine wetlands, you’ll have no problem finding a place to sleep under the stars. The Sunshine Coast is popular year-round, but you can avoid the biggest crowds—and highest temperatures and heaviest rainfall—by visiting outside of summer (December through February).

Where to go

Caloundra

About an hour's drive north of Brisbane, Caloundra is home to some of Queensland’s best beaches. Kings Beach is a favourite for its oceanfront saltwater pool and walking tracks that lead around the Caloundra headland. In the heart of Caloundra, on the Pumicestone Passage, are a range of accommodation options from camping and caravan sites to oceanfront cabins and glamping tents, many with access to a swimming pool, laundry, and free wifi.

Maroochydore

Half an hour up the coast, Maroochydore is considered the heart of the Sunshine Coast. You can easily spend all your time in the main town, catching waves and enjoying the bars and restaurants that line its lively esplanade, but it’s also a prime spot for embarking on diving and snorkeling trips.

Coolum

Coolum is a perennially popular getaway for its beaches, golf courses, and carefree atmosphere. Explore the rocky headlands of Point Perry and Point Arkwright, and even tackle the climb to the peak of Mount Coolum—the view from the top is well worth the effort. Back down at sea level, oceanfront campgrounds offer van and camping spots with direct access to the beach.

Noosa

Surrounded by national parks, beaches, and hinterland, Noosa's natural beauty makes it the jewel in the Sunshine Coast’s crown. Adventure abounds: You can soak up the turquoise waters of Noosa Main Beach, spot wildlife in Noosa National Park, paddle through the wetlands of the Noosa Everglades, and head from Noosa North Shore to Rainbow Beach and into Great Sandy National Park, home to the famed Fraser Island.

Hinterland

Head into the Sunshine Coast’s Hinterland and discover the rainforest of Kondalilla National Park, the ancient volcanic peaks of the Glass House Mountains, and the bohemian atmosphere of the Eumundi Markets. You can wake up to mountain views and the sounds of a burbling creek at a number of area camping grounds.
