If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond. We currently don't have a boat ramp however once you have launched your boat at the public boat ramp we have a nice bay in front of the campground where you can anchor your boat.

The camp grounds has an easy access and campers have had no issues levelling out on the gentle slope or go higher up the paddock to the trees and the ground is level with the best views of the mountain ranges. Olive View Farm is ideal for self sufficient campers. At the front of the property near the bus shop we have permanent picnic tables set up for anyone to use. Dogs on a lead are welcome - we have lots of Kangaroos and Wallabies and we want to protect them. We are always on site and happy to help with anything you need. *Please note any negative feedback for camping received was from a festival that took place on our property in 2022 and the event organisers promised the campers facilities and did not deliver. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed. Please note, if there is lots of rain, the track to the creek can get very muddy and difficult. If access is compromised due to weather, there are alternative spaces you can set up camp. We accept tent and 4WD camper trailers only, please no caravans or motorhomes. Our property is dog-friendly, keeping in mind it is a working cattle property.  Children under 12 stay free. Please still add them to your booking so we can monitor numbers, they will not be charged. Axe throwing has recently become popular within the city, if you must try it on the property , bring a board, our trees are not to be used as targets. Stay out of our gated paddocks. We are not the place for rowdy parties or large groups. Most of our sites are nestled on different levels between trees and bush, so you may feel like you are the only ones there. Campfires in the provided fire pit or drum only. Due to the unique surroundings we offer, we do require you to be extra vigilant with fire safety. You are most welcome to use your own off the ground firepit anywhere in your site. We have 178 acres of beautiful land hidden in the hills of Tarome in the Scenic Rim community. An amazing view of the national park and Cunninghams Gap. There is a hidden creek at the back of the property that never runs dry, running from Gap Creek Falls at the top of Cunninghams Gap. The location is perfect for a quick getaway or long stay, complete privacy and little reception depending on your phone service, ensuring a peaceful camping stay. There is lots of activities within a short drive from the property including fishing at Lake Moogerah, hiking the mountain tops or having brunch at the amazing local cafe's in the area. Our campsites are hidden in the hills, down by the creek or out in the open. You will need a 4 WD to access the rear of the property. There is a steep incline at the beginning of the track followed by a tight corner because of this caravans must be off road and under 17 ft. Make sure your car has the power and weight to get it up the hill. There are 3 x 2WD camping options for caravans over 17ft or those not off road. Depending on the type of vehicle and van will dictate your camping locations. Maximum caravan access for the rear of the property is 17ft off road van. This is due to the hill climb and a tight corner at the top. Please be aware of the weight you are towing and your car is capable of pulling it up the hill. Dogs are welcome but must stay within the camp, be under control or on a leash. If you have friends who you want to invite but don't have camping gear that's okay, we have the option to hire a camper trailer. All they need to bring is food and drinks. The camp grounds has an easy access and campers have had no issues levelling out on the gentle slope or go higher up the paddock to the trees and the ground is level with the best views of the mountain ranges. Olive View Farm is ideal for self sufficient campers. At the front of the property near the bus shop we have permanent picnic tables set up for anyone to use. Dogs on a lead are welcome - we have lots of Kangaroos and Wallabies and we want to protect them. We are always on site and happy to help with anything you need. *Please note any negative feedback for camping received was from a festival that took place on our property in 2022 and the event organisers promised the campers facilities and did not deliver. Some cattle tracks for the kids to ride along in the paddock also. -Wivenhoe, Somerset Dam in the area for water sports -Wildlife watching, this paddock sustains a large variety of native animals, if you’ve got a keen eye -Bottle Tree pub is just down the road, - bit more than walking distance tho :) -Take it easy.

The location is perfect for a quick getaway or long stay, complete privacy and little reception depending on your phone service, ensuring a peaceful camping stay. There is lots of activities within a short drive from the property including fishing at Lake Moogerah, hiking the mountain tops or having brunch at the amazing local cafe's in the area. Our campsites are hidden in the hills, down by the creek or out in the open. You will need a 4 WD to access the rear of the property. There is a steep incline at the beginning of the track followed by a tight corner because of this caravans must be off road and under 17 ft. Make sure your car has the power and weight to get it up the hill. There are 3 x 2WD camping options for caravans over 17ft or those not off road. Depending on the type of vehicle and van will dictate your camping locations. Maximum caravan access for the rear of the property is 17ft off road van. This is due to the hill climb and a tight corner at the top. Please be aware of the weight you are towing and your car is capable of pulling it up the hill. Dogs are welcome but must stay within the camp, be under control or on a leash. The site and facilities were exceptionally clean and very well maintained by Peter & Doris, who welcomed us with genuine warmth. We added firewood to our booking and Wow, I was pleasantly surprised by the great quality of it. Plus, the little bit of 4WD driving required to enter the site added an extra layer of fun to the experience! If this was in middle of year, I would already made another booking :) 10/10!!

Once again, nothing short of a beautiful weekend out at Bares's Hideaway. The rain can't dampen the mood! Toilets are still one of the cleanest ones I've seen. One of the showers ran out of gas, but we sent them a message and they were down and changing the bottle out within the hour. Friendly owners, and continual upgrades (concrete drive for easier access for cars and vans), and if you like to be bare foot, am yet to find a prickle. 🙌

The view was absolutely stunning. The horses were very friendly coming over for a pat. Make sure you read the recommendations on the hipcamp site on how to get there as we followed the GPS and ended up on a very steep hill climb with nowhere to turn around. Thanks to a quick chat with Viola and very good directions we made it and had a very enjoyable weekend.

Property divided by Millarvale Creek offers secluded and private camping. We have two camping sites on the bank of the creek catering for the single camper . Each site has total privacy. Enjoy the peace and tranquility with clear starlit nights around the campfire, stunning panoramic views and sundowners on top of The Knob, walks along the rocky creek, and swimming in the clear running water. All campers must be self contained. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control and restrained at night and not interfere with livestock or wildlife. Campfires only in designated firepits dependant upon any restrictions in place. All waste to be removed from site in accordance with our 'Leave No Trace' policy. RESPECT other campers privacy ! NO DRONES over other private campsite!. If caught you will REMOVED from the property INSTANTLY and DEFEAT ANY PAID CAMP FEES!. SITE 1 & 2 camps now has a port-a loo for hire. CLOSING AS OF 3/1/26 Optus phone service good. Telstra phone sporadic. Vodaphone roaming ok. Children under 13 free! Wheelchair access on flat grassed areas , no pathways. 2WD accessible to most campsites. At present all good sites have Porta toilets for hire, fresh water pod & pod of split wood for cash available. Plenty of friendly wildlife including birds, wedgetail eagles, kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, goannas, bandicoots, betongs, dingos and red deer. Two kayaks and red claw pots available for guests to use in Somerset Dam. Water access 2 mins away via prior arrangement through Camp Somerset. Or public day areas, The Spit and O'Sheas crossing around 10mins away. One part of the gravel driveway is steep, so a vehicle with some clearance is advised. ***All campers need to be self sufficient with toilet and shower. Dump point in nearby town.*** (Or portaloo available to hire via extras when you book) Fire pit available and fire wood available for a $20 fee with your booking request. A pile will be delivered to your camp site, which is more than enough for 1 or 2 nights.
