Enjoyed a few peaceful couple of nights. There is a public trial along side the Campsite but wasnāt an issue with noise. Communication and direction from the host was easy and campsite is easy to find. It is a great location close to Lowood and Fernvale. The horses were a added bonus bring plenty of food..

Lovely place with a great view, easy access to the Brisbane valley rail trail if you want to explore.
I loved the native grasses n wild flowers, and the inquisitive horses.
Spent the Australian Day long weekend. To be very honest to say it was disappointing is an understatement. I was struggling with whether I should leave a review, because I could not find a positive for this site. From struggling with gates that didnāt open properly, having to traverse two mud bogs, not ārutsā as described, track to site overgrown, camp site over grown with lantana, absolutely nothing like what was shown in photos. Really overpriced for what it was. I think HIPCAMPS and owners should be held to account for portraying their sites with photos that are not indicative of what their sites currently look like. Timing is everything, maybe we just picked a weekend when the site was not at its best.
The good: well kept camp grounds and a decent fire pit. Plenty of friendly horses who love carrots.
The Not So Good: limited privacy as youāre right on the BVRT a you will have people within 100m of you from the crack of dawn.
The Bad: Access to the camp site is not maintained and heavily rutted. Damage to van or vehicle is highly probable when trying to maintain momentum during some very boggy sections.

Perfect Off-Grid Escape Near Lowood

āWe had a fantastic 2-night, 3-day stay at this peaceful property in Lowood, hosted by the wonderful Lynette and Lauren. This is the ideal spot for true off-grid camping.
āImportant Note on Facilities: This is a primitive camp, meaning there are no shower or toilet facilities. Campers must be fully self-sufficient, but if you're prepared, the reward is pure quiet and space.
āWhat it lacks in amenities, it makes up for in space and charm. There is plenty of open land and the entire experience was incredibly relaxing. The check-in and check-out process was easy and seamless.
āThe absolute highlight was the friendly resident horses! We highly recommend you pack carrots and apples to make some new friends.
āFor restocking supplies like wood and ice, the town of Lowood is only a quick 5-minute drive away. We highly recommend this spot for a peaceful, hassle-free getaway.

Great spot, just out of Lowood. A gate from the property on to the rail trail was excellent for a bike ride. Great communication. Track in was a little rough but this was communicated well and ok with our set up.

Loved our stay at the Top Paddock! Despite the weather not being on our side for the most part, we loved the privacy of the site and the big stone fire pit. Lynette was very responsive and kept us updated on the conditions of the track in. We got bogged in the mud but as per Lynetteās updates we were prepared for it and managed to get out. The wildlife here is beautiful and the horses are hilarious.

We loved our stay and had a great time! It was so nice seeing the horses and having access to the rail trail and being riding distance from the shops too. I hope we get to come back another time, thanks for having us!

We had a quiet, private spot that was well maintained. No mean feat considering the amount of rain the areas has had recently! The track in was but slushy but understandable given the recent weather. Not much light pollution so plenty of stars when the night was clear too!

Nice quiet spot with very cute enquisitive horses
We enjoyed our time at the Dam view with the sounds of nature and our visits from the horses were a treat.
A sign would have helped pointing you in the right direction but once found we enjoyed our relaxing time with the dogs who loved swimming in the dam.
Would go again!
Beautiful location. Very clean and ample space away from the other camp site. We have made this spot our little 35 min getaway from the city. Horses are friendly and love a feed of carrots.
This is a really lovely spot. Private and flat and nicely grassed. Bit tricky to get into if it has been wet, you definitely need 4x4 as there are some deep and muddy ruts to negotiate. Only thing to watch is the horses can be overly friendly - we had problems stopping them coming in under our caravan awning in the middle of the night and damaging stuff.

Enjoyed our night here with the very friendly horses.
With nice grass, complete privacy amongst the trees and the serenity, this is an awesome campsite for quiet relaxing weekends away. The track in was fine for our 16" semi offroad caravan although just need to keep an eye on the weather as it may become a bit boggy after rain in the rutted low areas. The horses paid regular visits and were very friendly, sometimes a bit too friendly. The host gave us very detailed directions to get into the property and campsite when we arrived late on a Friday afternoon, and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the site to find it clean, reasonably level, nicely grassed and very private with a firepit ready to light and enjoy the amazing sunset.

Beautiful spot close to town but you wouldn't know it. Nice open paddock, well maintained and easy to find. The horses are definitely not shy!
This is my second time staying at the āDam viewā campsite run by Lynette and Lauren. Again the stay was awesome, a very well maintained camp area.
I certainly will be coming back for another visit.

Great site to camp , close access to the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail which was located over the fence. Lowood shops only 1klm away it was close for supplies. The host communicated responsively during our stay to ensure everything was ok. You definetely require a high lift 4wd to get access if arrive during a rain period as the track can be boggy

What a top spot. Camp was right on the BV rail trail. It was also a short bike ride into town, which has a great pub, pool and country feel. The horses on the property were super special, stars were magnificent and sunsets were next level. Hosts were lovely and responsive to any questions. Highly recommend.

Great location for Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Excellent directions & views! Horses were friendly. Quite spot with great fire pit.

This is a large space with lots of level ground. It is a private area.
The best thing of all is it is across the paddock from the rail trail for riding/walking. You donāt need to get into your car at all.
We loved it and will definitely be back.

What a find! Close to Brisbane, next to Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and feels like we are in the middle of the bush. Lynette was very communicative with easy to follow directions.
Horses popped in every-now and then to say hello. Views, flat large area, fire and sunset sets- perfect!
