Our sites are completely isolated from town, with views and not visible from the road. Sites are set among nearly 100 acres of a mix of open land and rainforest. Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot!
The Stonesthrow Bush Camping sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Some sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. THESE ARE THE ONLY SITES THAT CARAVANS CAN ACCESS.
The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites.
Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather-dependent.
We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top.
Due to insurance considerations, no 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved Hipcamp booking.
We are a Leave No Trace campground - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you.

The location of the Treehouse was chosen by our then young children. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek.
We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy.
As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot.
It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world.

- However you are only 2.5 minutes drive to the nearest beach (Casuarina) and shops! The land is elevated, flood free and has some ocean views/breezes.
Guests MUST be fully self contained with their own toilet facilities. This must be shown to host on arrival. If you do not have your own toilet you will be asked to leave. If you want to pay a bit extra for your own private ensuite (running water, hot shower, power, lights, vanity and flushing toilet) then you can stay without your own toilet.

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot!
The Stonesthrow Bush Camping sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Some sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. THESE ARE THE ONLY SITES THAT CARAVANS CAN ACCESS.
The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites.
Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather-dependent.
We are not a 4WD adventure park. Vehicles must be left at your campsite and NOT used to explore the property. Exploration of the property is welcome by foot or bicycle: 1.2 km from bottom to top.
Due to insurance considerations, no 'day visitors' are allowed unless they have an approved Hipcamp booking.
We are a Leave No Trace campground - ensure what you bring in, leaves with you.

The location of the Treehouse was chosen by our then young children. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek.
We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy.
As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot.
It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world.

- However you are only 2.5 minutes drive to the nearest beach (Casuarina) and shops! The land is elevated, flood free and has some ocean views/breezes.
Guests MUST be fully self contained with their own toilet facilities. This must be shown to host on arrival. If you do not have your own toilet you will be asked to leave. If you want to pay a bit extra for your own private ensuite (running water, hot shower, power, lights, vanity and flushing toilet) then you can stay without your own toilet.
Cabarita beach (voted best beach in Australia for 2020 and 2021) is only 7 min away, Fingal and Dreamtime Beaches 10 min drive.

This site can easily accommodate small or large groups with flushing toilets, hot showers, kitchen and fridge available. There is also lots of Bell - 'glamping tents' for full luxury provided. If someone in your group wants it all 'finished' when you arrive.

A beautiful creek descends through the 135 acres which includes rainforest that is listed as State significant vegetation.
There is a deep swimming hole at the waterfall and other swimming areas up and down the creeks.
You can hike to the upper plateaus that feature two ancient Strangler Figs with ocean views and a view of Mt.Warning as well as to the Bushranger Caves and lookouts higher up on the Lamington Plateau.
Natural beauty is everywhere you look with mountain views, volcanic boulders and rock formations, Upland Rainforest and lots of wildlife. This is a property for nature lovers.
Mobile reception (Telstra works the best), flushing toilets (ladies & gents), hot shower, and campfires permitted in designated locations - sorry no pets.

We are located on six flat acres adjacent to Mt Tamborine in the picturesque Scenic Rim area.
Chestnut Farm is only a short drive to the local wineries, alpaca farm and only minutes from the cute little town of Canungra with its famous pies and coffee shops. For a bit of mountain air take the short drive up to Mt Tamborine to the artistic hub of Gallery Walk.
Chestnut Farm is a peaceful, serene place to camp. Enjoy native wildlife and an array of birdlife as you relax and unwind by a cosy fire. Take advantage of the local area activities such as hiking and horse riding trails, mountain bike tracks and climbing escarpments.

Camping at Sarah's farm was perfect.
Sites are nice and private, not placed directly on top of each other, the grounds are meticulously maintained, and it's very peaceful.
The tub of fire provided is a nice bonus as well. 10/10 from me.

Kezza was an amazing host- she took us around the farm, gave lots of information and lots of her time and took the kids on a tractor ride around the farm. She was super helpful and it was a great stay- highly recommend!

We absolutely loved camping at Kezza & Dave's land. We ended up being at the powered site by the tank, site 5, which was great as it was quiet and private. Kezza & Dave were fantastic and always available if we needed anything. Kezza took us on a farm tour and we learnt so much, this was a highlight of our trip. They also had the kindest dog, Marley, who always stopped in for a daily visit. Even though it was just my husband and I we couldn't help but cook enough food for 3, as Marley is just the sweetest and enjoyed Hubbys bbq meat. Was thankful that we had bug spray as the mozzies were relentless, but that's the normal with bush camping. Overall 10/10 and will definitely be back. Thanks Kezza & Dave for being amazing!

We had a great time staying on Kezza's farm. Kezza and Dave were kind and communicative, It was quiet and peaceful, our kids enjoyed seeing cows, sheeps, horses (on the neighboring lot) and lots of kangarooes. Kezza gave us a tour of the farm, teaching about the farm's produce. The location is excellenct, close to thunderbird park and the rainforest walk.

We had a group of families with kids and Dogs over the Easter break and it was a fantastic camp spot. It has everything for the parents and kids, Nice flat ground to set up and a great spot on the creek for the kids to spend all day playing around which gave us adults to be able to take in the peaceful surroundings and watch the world go by listening to the running creek. Having this camp site separate was great as we had heaps of space for the caravans and for everyone to kick a footy and a game of cricket not having to stress about cars and other camper driving through. Great to have the toilet on site and great camp fire area overlooking the creek and to watch the stars at night. We will definitely be back as its so close to us yet a world away when your camped up. Thanks Patrick and Tom for a great spot and the great communication.

We enjoyed Camping at Riverside Campsite. It was a quiet, private campsite, which we love. It was in a picturesque location and very well suited for a 2WD or AWD. It was also centrally located to enjoy the beaches and waterways of Coolangatta down to Kingscliff. Alana was a great communicator but also gave us full privacy. Perfect camping site.

We forgot to read some rules about collect firewood and the host was very calm and polite to give the right instructions to us.

Lovely site out the back of the property away from everyone. Close to the swimming section of the creek with a nice fire pit and places to hitch a tent or rooftop.

Camped at Eagles Nest. A very nice spot! The site was private, level, shady and a fire pit available. The main track up to the remote sites was not difficult but a 4WD is definitely required as advertised. This was a last minute trip and Steve responded right away and confirmed our booking. Steve was a legend and runs a 10/10 Hipcamp.

Patrick and Tom have created a beautiful oasis. We had the most incredible time camping at site 2. Everything was perfect. From the comfortable and well kept space, to the clean toilets, the cows roaming around us and the gorgeous creek which was just perfect to swim in throughout the day. I couldn’t recommend this campsite enough. Oh and it’s completely private!

The most magical weekend away. It seriously is a little slice of heaven. Beautiful flowing creek with little swimming holes, so much exploring to do and so happy it was dog friendly so we could bring our pup with us. Cows freely roaming and just a true oasis!
