Christmas Creek Bush Retreat was perfect for a short stay in our pod camper in May. The water is clear and would be great for swimming in warmer times. The camp sites are large and easily accessed , flat and well-grassed. The grounds are immaculate, Dave, the host we met, was very informative and easy-going.

Absolutely breathtaking hidden gem. Even the drive to the location will have you in complete awe. The view... I can't even describe. The spot is private, quiet and tidy. Perfect for star gazing, we saw a few shooting stars. Has a small table and 2 large campfire spots which you can utilise; a drop toilet, which usually not a fan of but didn't smell and was very tidy. Brendan was very responsive and the gentleman that met us was very kind

Hubby & I had a beautiful relaxing time in our campervan on the lakefront campsite. We saw so much birdlife, loved the resident goats Cappuccino & Daisy in the animal farm.. Toilets were unfortunately not up to standard for cleanliness..But we will go back again to camp as it was a special place.

Our stay at Atkinsons Lake was nice. The area is beautiful. Facilities were ok and kept moderately clean. The powered sites were not all functioning. The only real downside was the caretaker asking us to keep the kids quiet from 6pm and the permanent residents have a very loud domestic dispute late into the night. Would be a great place to stay under new ownership and with a bit of TLC

Beautiful camp site, lots of space, hot showers and working toilet. We could not fault anything at all!Tthe views of the lake are amazing, plenty spots to fish, launch boats etc, it’s essentially a campers dream! Zero service on mobile phones so take that in to note if you struggle being cut off. We will be back for sure, thanks so much :)

Overall great spot. Has no reception at first I was like mmm but then it was actually refreshing as we struggle to be present today as life is busy. Says there was no showerd but there was so another up and overall lot is huge so heaps fo privacy. Would recommend.

We are a very short 900m bicycle ride from the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BRVT) which is one of the must-do cycle treks in the southern hemisphere. If you or your crew need a place to stay while riding the trail then this is perfect for you. The town of Esk and two major dams are very close by where you can browse the antique shops, waterski, or fish to your heart's content. We are also close to Fernvale where there are big Sunday Markets.

Come and relax at our flat, peaceful 5 acre hobby farm. Most animals wander around example the sheep, ducks and chooks, all the poultry. We have a mini pig (Splat) that has her own paddock as she likes to escape and you definately don't want a pig in your tent or swag or pushing your furniture about. 😆 She is super gentle and please go in and give her some belly rubs and pats. We also have Gibbles the male gobbler turkey (his gobble gobble is a delightful sound), dorper sheep, hens and Henry Rooster, so theres will be a cock a doodle do in the mornings, ducks and horses if I have enough grass. You can ask for the horses to be here for your visit, they are often at other agistment nearby. Baby animals are seasonal, ducklings and baby chicks in summer and lambs after winter roughly. There are a couple of small playgrounds, double flushing toilets, picnic tables and chairs for your convenience and a nice above ground pool to stay cool in. We have firewood for sale, and I make a great expresso coffee if your a coffee lover, like myself. Bring some cash for firewood, coffee and other bits and pieces. The $45 camp fee pays for 2 adults and 1 child. Extra adults campers are $20 adults and $5 for kids. We also offer day visits for $5 per person. Plenty of room for caravans, buses and horse floats. I have a round yard and horse yards and horses are $10 per horse/night to cover water costs. BYO hay. Wivenhoe Dam, Atkinson Dam and the Brisbane river are all closeby. The famous rail trail that a lot of horse riders and cyclists enjoy is just a klm down the road. (keep an eye out for koalas) Hope to see you soon.

Andrew Drynan Park is situated on Running Creek, 47 km south of Beaudesert and 19 km from Rathdowney on the Lions Road. The drive from Brisbane will take a couple of hours. It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee. Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp. Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent. Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east. Campers & Day Trippers Rules: The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park. By using this park you agree to the following rules. All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed limit. Fires must be extinguished prior to departure. Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish. It must be taken with you! The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem! Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set up on top of other campers. Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of 2pm to 6pm. Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all times. No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users. No antisocial behavior. No camping on creek banks. No playing around toilet block area. No livestock to be kept on the park. No cutting down trees. No person to travel in the load area of vehicles. No motorcycles other than on the formed roads or when moving between your campsite and the road. No stock whips, firearms or weapons of any sort, chainsaws, drones or fireworks allowed in the park. No use of detergents, soaps or shampoos in creek. No washing dishes or clothing in creek. No hitting of Golf balls. No cricket with cricket ball (tennis ball ok). No swings to be tied to trees. Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for trespassing. Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use of the park. We are only 8 minutes from shops in town and a short drive for all of the Scenic Rim's attractions. We are in the heart of The Scenic Rim. The camping grounds is private and picturesque in our back paddocks - looking back over our olive grove and out to the great dividing range. We have fire pits set up in the camp area - please bring an extinguisher, wood and matches. The camp grounds has an easy access and campers have had no issues levelling out on the gentle slope or go higher up the paddock to the trees and the ground is level with the best views of the mountain ranges. Olive View Farm is ideal for self sufficient campers. At the front of the property near the bus shop we have permanent picnic tables set up for anyone to use. Dogs on a lead are welcome - we have lots of Kangaroos and Wallabies and we want to protect them. We are always on site and happy to help with anything you need. *Please note any negative feedback for camping received was from a festival that took place on our property in 2022 and the event organisers promised the campers facilities and did not deliver. Unfortunately Hipcamp won't remove these comments and we had no management of these customers. ALL other positive comments are through us direct.

Guests can enjoy feeding the animals at an additional cost with staff and learning about the history of the property and the founders who settled on the land in the late 1800s, built the existing dwellings, and farmed the thousands of acres surrounding the farmstay. What does our farm have to offer? An open space to camp with incredible views; A play area to keep the kids entertained including a tennis court, lawn games, basketballs and hoop, a trampoline and more; Swimming or floating down the Albert river from one end of the property to the other; Animal feeding - with the option of an animal encounter where you get to enter our paddocks with a farm hand and spend some time with our animals or buckets of feed to feed our animals through the fence (these are both at an additional cost); Buggy rides to get the kids around the farm and so much more!

Christmas Creek Cedar Cabin is a Tiny Home in the Scenic Rim. Positioned on a hill above Christmas Creek to take in the views, were you can watch the sun rise over Little Widgee Mountain and the sun set over the mountains to the west. This fully contained cabin is approximately 30 square metres and features a small veranda out the front facing Little Widgee Mountain and Buchanans Fort. Sit back and relax on the bench seat or table and chairs. A larger veranda out the back faces Christmas Creek and the mountains to the west. Relax on the deck chairs and read a book, or sit at the bar and enjoy a drink while watching the wildlife. There’s a table with chairs to enjoy your breakfast or dinner outside.The loft bedroom has a queen bed. There’s reverse cycle air conditioning to keep you comfortable. The kitchen is self contained with a small microwave/oven, a 60 cm ceramic cooktop, a medium size fridge/freezer, a toaster and kettle. The lounge room has a couch, 40 cm TV with DVD player, small table and chairs. There’s no free to air TV channels available. BYO DVD or there’s a small selection available. No Wi- Fi There’s a small firepit and chairs in the yard to enjoy the sun setting over the mountains and stars at night. The cabin is a few minutes drive to the creek where you can go swimming. Relax on the sun lounge listening to the birds sing and Christmas Creek flowing by, or enjoy a Scenic drive or bushwalk in the local area. Christmas Creek Café is just down the road. Phone reception is available at the cabin if you’re with Telstra. The property is 2WD accessible, but I recommend 4WD in wet weather No pets please.

One acre dog enclosure available for friendly dogs. Large grassed areas among gum trees, set high so there are sea breezes in summer. Lots of birdlife, with kookaburras, galahs, curlews, cockatoos and lorikeets nesting on site, you will meet our friendly magpie and butcherbirds too. We are in a koala zone and occasionally get visitors during breeding season, and there's been a few wallaby sightings recently. We have a small hobby farm with chickens and ducks. We also have a goat, native bees, a worm farm and an aquaponics system Plenty of local activities and events. Too many to list! Beaches, bush and city stuff too The closest activity is the mini-golf at Alexandra Hills Hotel and Conference Centre. The hotel is very handy for breakfast, lunch or dinner if you don't feel like cooking. Family friendly and reasonably priced. There is a playground for kids and a bottle shop. Defibrillator on property. Fire extinguishers on site. Farm Fresh Eggs Available...... Emergency Department 4.5 km away at Redlands Hospital.
