Our rare slice of property only has limited available bookings throughout the year to keep it more exclusive to our guests. Please send a message through if you cannot see a date that suits you, and we can see what we can do. Our 330 acre property backs onto the beautiful D'Aguilar National Park and is still heavily treed with some cleared areas for cattle grazing. The property has many interesting native birds, animals and trees for you to discover. There are many walking tracks both gentle and steep within the property. Approximately 2 hours from Brisbane CBD. Either stay in our popular cabin for those creature comforts, or camp next to our creek bed areas and enjoy the serenity. There is No cellular service around the camping areas to help you unwind!

4WD ONLY Pitch your tent, camper trailer or small 4x4 caravan  at Red Cedar camp area  where you have access to your own private sanctuary within our 330 acre lifestyle property approximately  2 hours from Brisbane CBD. Sit around the fire pit and contemplate the rich history of the indigenous people     ( Garumngar- part of the Jinibara group) and European settlers living and working (logging), within this area. You will be off the grid, so you will have no phone or internet coverage during your stay at Red cedar, however, a hike to the top of the property will give you full coverage. Children 4 and under are free (no need to include in booking just let us know they are coming). Larger groups will need approval prior. Tank water is available for your use, however, please use conservatively. Bring your camp oven and cook a meal over the fire. Tripod provided. Firewood bundles of split seasoned hardwood can be purchased from our stock through extras in bookings or cash onsite. Fire wood will be dropped to your site. Collection of kindling is allowed. BYO Fridge/Esky BYO camping toilet (all waste human and dog) to be taken home by campers.  Friendly dogs that won't harm/chase wildlife or cattle are welcome. Dogs must be on a leash at night and when walking on the property.

Step back in time and stay in the Cattlemen's Cabin. Built in 1950, the cabin is set on 1.5 acres within a 330 acre lifestyle property approximately 2 hours  from Brisbane CBD. Camping, caravan or camper trailers are also welcome to stay in this area for larger groups if needed. The property backs onto the D'Aguilar National Park and is still heavily treed with some cleared areas for cattle grazing. The cabin is open plan and sleeps 3, (queen and single).  Listen to the silence. This is a quiet and serene environment with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and landscape. This could be your base camp while you discover other places within the Somerset region or just enjoy the peace and quiet on the property. The property has many interesting native birds, animals and trees for you to discover. There is a walking track to Kluvers lookout, (within national park -steep) and other more gentle walks within the property where you can discover stands of large sub tropical rainforest, cabinet and eucalyptus trees. Sit around the fire pit and contemplate the rich history of the indigenous people  (Garumngar - part of the Jinibara group) and European settlers living and working (logging), within this area. You will be off the grid, so you will have no mains  power, phone or internet coverage during your stay at the Cattlemen's Cabin, however, a hike to the top of the property will give full coverage. LED lighting and 12 volt battery provided, (no mains power) BYO Fridge/Esky Tank water is available for your use, however, please use conservatively. Wood fired heater inside for use on those cooler nights. External barbecue (gas provided). Basic kitchenware provided (plates, cups, cutlery etc). Firewood bundles of split seasoned hardwood can be purchased from our stock through extras in bookings or cash onsite. Fire wood will be dropped to your site. Collection of kindling is allowed. Bush pully shower provided Flushing toilet provided Friendly dogs that won't harm/chase wildlife or cattle are welcome. Dogs must be on a leash  when walking on the property.

This property is awesome. 2 families with 4 kids under 7. With no other campers in sight, The kids just roamed all day adventuring through the creeks and paddocks. No reception meant that adults were not tempted to pick up the phone that made 3.5 days feel like a week off work. Big thanks to Ryan. We have a 4WD (with stock tyres) and Jayco outback pop-top camper and we struggled to get up a couple of the hills on the property. This was due to a lot of rain the days before hand and the track being slippery. We ended up getting stuck on one of the hills. As friends of ours went to ask Ryan for a tow, we noticed I had punctured a tyre in one of the creeks crossing to get there. Now we were stuck on a hill, with a heavy camper trailer and needing to change a tyre. As I chocked all the wheels to stop the ute slipping, Ryan was straight under there in 6inches of mud placing the jack in position and started replacing the tyre. After replacing the tyre, he hooked up the snatch strap and towed us up the top towards our site. Ryan will be receiving a carton of beer from me next time we head out, hopefully with better tyres and a little less mud on the tracks.

Native Lime Camp
We spent a couple of nights at Native Lime Camp and had a really enjoyable time. The kids loved the creek and the cows and the mud and Ryan was very friendly and welcoming. Toilets and showers were clean and a short walk away. Plenty of space to roam and very private.

Really lovely, lush and private property. Well kept is an understatement. Everything that was promised in the ad and more. We found heaps of natives like Illawarra plums, native lime trees and mushrooms galore. Creek running through was where we spent most our time. Thanks for having us. Appreciate it!!!! Absolutely perfect for families, this place was magic ✨ Plenty of shade , loads of privacy and lots of adventures to be had exploring this amazing property. The cows when you drive in are gorgeous. Ryan was lovely and very friendly to deal with and welcoming to his property. Peace and quiet and so beautiful. Highly recommend. 🐕‍🦺 - Dog friendly 🔥 - Campfires 🌅 - Scenery 💦 - Swimming - small water holes and creeks Have a look at our reel of our amazing stay here if you want to see what it’s all about. adventure with challenges on instagram and FB Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!!!

We spent two nights at the cattlemen’s cabin for a family adventure. Had a fantastic weekend - we loved it here. The kids loved the creeks, riding on the property on their bikes and cooking marshmallows on the fire pit. We hope to return again someday.

𝐀𝐁𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄 & 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 Totally exceptional experience from initial enquiry to actual stay. Ryan & Kellie are amazing, sharing their slice of heaven and providing an abundance of information both before & during our stay! We dragged our 4x4 13ft Hybrid Van into the Red Cedar Camp area (make sure you have a capable van & tow tug if attempting this as parts of the track will require 4x4 capabilities). As we entered the track to our campsite we were totally blown away by the beauty of the forest canopy above us (forgot to take pics) and before us. A few creek crossings (photos don't do them justice) and then WOW, an opening that was our camp site right beside the creek and at the end of the track so no traffic travelling through ❤️ We are officially in love and will be back !!

Native Lime Camp
As I travelled along Mt Byron Rd I wondered if I’d gone too far but keep driving until you reach the very end and turn left. Be sure not to enter the private property with no trespassing signs on the gate. Once I arrived at my camp and met Ryan, I was taken aback at how private and quiet each camp site is. They have created a truly peaceful camp for everyone to enjoy, I didn’t once hear any other campers who were also staying at the property. The campsites are well shaded, cool and breezy even in the middle of Summer. I was self sufficient but Ryan & Kellie have now built shower and toilet facilities if needed. It was such a beautiful experience to wake in the morning surrounded by curious cows all peering into my tent and after a hike around the property, a swim in the refreshing crystal clear creek was much appreciated. I look forward to returning and exploring more of the surrounding hikes. Thank you Ryan & Kellie 😊

Off the grid simplicity @its best with all the essentials. A flushing toilet, a shower (heat yr own water), tracks to explore, amazing views, peace and quiet, firepit, shady trees, warm comfy beds, curious cattle and obliging hosts. Loved it, we'll be back!!

The cabin has its own little fenced yard so our dogs could be off leash. My husband and I stayed in the cabin with our family in tents beside the cabin. It was fantastic! The property is beautiful and the hosts were welcoming. The road in has a few creek crossings if it’s been raining. Thanks to Ryan and Kellie for sharing your piece of paradise.

Stunning drive into the camp-site along mostly dirt roads with a number of creek crossings. We needed to put the Navara into 4H in a couple of sections to get the camper trailer through but there wasn't anything too challenging. The camp-site itself was level, clean and mowed. Absolute privacy at the Red Cedar camp-site. Plenty of shade and right next to a seasonal creek which wasn't flowing however had a couple of deep waterholes which the dogs loved. Plenty to explore with a steep track leading off from the other side of the creek. Good size firepit with permanent tripod for cooking. We will definitely be back!

We all had a great time during our stay. We had the opportunity to 4X4 and hike around Ryan and Kellie’s property due to no campers. The kids had a blast and enjoyed interacting with the animals. Even got to see a family of deers wandering on the other side of the front gate. Thanks again and hopefully we’ll be back in the near future.

Great quiet secluded place, kids had a ball ages ranging from 2 to 12, played all day and all night without bothering anyone. Perfect for our families to get away, firepit was on point , scenery beautiful. Wouldn't recommend taking any big caravans, we had a 17ft jayco and only just managed to get in and out. Only thing we regret is not booking for longer

Another fantastic stay at Cattleman's Cottage! Ideal place to get away from the rat race and enjoy nature and reconnecting as a family. They turned it on with deer,cows and plenty of wallabies. We will be back.

I love this relaxing and beautiful place. Unfortunately, we had to leave earlier as my son fell sick, but we will definitely come and visit again. There were a lot of cows on the way there and back that refused to leave the road, which was absolutely hilarious for the kids :D

My husband and I + 3 kids (10, 8, 5) and dog had a great time at Ryan and Kellies Cattlemen's Cabin. Was rushing at the time of booking and only saw sleeps 13. Please note there is only a queen + single in the cabin so we took a double camp mattress for the kids, which fit ok. Not a lot of swimming areas but plenty of creek crossings to play in. Took our bikes and had a great time cycling along the dirt tracks. The kids loved the adventure of no electricity and having a campfire each night. Will happily stay again - Thanks Ryan/Kellie.

The cabin was simple but had enough room, roof and amenities to make staying on the edge of a scenic remote cattle property a delight, even in the rain. It was also reassuring for a caretaker to greet us and let us know he was available via radio. It was all lovely - lying in listening to rain on the roof, lounging outside with cattle crowding curiously nearby, or setting off on adventure walks around the extensive property when it was sunny. It felt so remote, rural and peaceful - yet only an hour or so out from Brisbane. Loved it.

We had a wonderful time at Cattleman’s Cahin. If you are looking to get away from it all then this is the place for you. Beautiful countryside with cows, kangaroos and a creek for the kids to play in. Enjoy bushwalking during the day and roast marshmallows over the fire pit at night while marvelling at the starry skies.
