Enjoy the peace and tranquility with clear starlit nights around the campfire, stunning panoramic views and sundowners on top of The Knob, walks along the rocky creek, and swimming in the clear running water. All campers must be self contained. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control and restrained at night and not interfere with livestock or wildlife. Relax and unwind by the fire pit, or venture down the creek and explore the twists and turns of the crystal clear water. Located just over 1.5 hours from Brisbane, we are within easy reach for a perfect little getaway. We only have one site available so you will have this great little spot all to yourselves. We are within easy reach of Main Range National Park, Mount Cordeaux, and Mount Mitchell, as well as the Historic Maryvale Crown Hotel and Spicers Resort. Warwick is half an hour away. Horses/cattle live here so animal droppings are to be expected and cattle may bellow from time to time, it is a working farm after all. Please do not feed the horses or cattle. Pets are welcome but must be kept on leash/restrained at night. Pets must not disturb any of the livestock or native animals in the area. If you a lucky you may even spot platypus, there is abundant birdlife, bandicoots and bettongs if you are a nature lover. Campers must be fully self sufficient with their own camping toilet and must take all rubbish and waste with them on departure, as per the 'leave no trace' policy. Welcome to “Karinya” which means peaceful and happy home. We are delighted to share our property with those that appreciate nature and want to take some time out amongst the gum trees. We are on a koala and wildlife corridor so respect for our wildlife as well as our domestic livestock is essential. We are conveniently located just off the Warrego Highway but once you set up camp, you will feel miles away from anywhere. Relax at camp or wander down to the creek to swim, fish or kayak (if the seasons are favourable); birdwatch, hike or mountain bike along the ridge; wander our flower field (seasonal picking available at additional cost); visit with the cattle and miniature ponies; stargaze and enjoy a camp fire (if there are no fire bans). If you want to explore the region, we are only 18klms from Toowoomba or Gatton and you can slip up Springbluff to easily access Highfields/Crows Nest area. Plenty of space to choose your camp, with very limited numbers accepted. Potable water available but Council requirements mean you must be fully self contained. Nearest dump point will be Gatton Showgrounds. The criticism of our space by some campers has been the nearby railway line. We have become immune to it but for some the passing coal trains is annoying. They are sporadiac - sometimes frequent, other times not. If you don't like trains, perhaps Karinya is not for you :( Leave no trace.

Glenroy Camping is a wonderful spot! Plenty of open, flat space, privacy, and access to amenities. There’s a swimming hole, even kayaks to hire (super cheap). Our group of friends and fur babies had such a great visit and will definitely be back.

Lovely secluded spot all to ourselves. Nice grassy area and relatively flat for set-ups. Creek was low and not clear so not great for swimming but was still nice to sit by. Thanks for a great stay :-)

Jan came to greet me upon arrival which was really nice as it made me feel very welcome on her property. Jan goes to a lot of effort to make the camp sites a nice place to stay. I had a delightful spot well away from the other sites and all to myself. The site was right on the water and well maintained so no fear of snakes. Total privacy and peace of mind that dogs can be off leash without any trouble. Was very happy to have two nice shady trees and a campfire at the site. Just sad I didn’t know this place existed sooner.

What a wonderful spot for some peace and quiet! We had a great lunch at the Maryvale pub before heading down. Well maintained camping area, nice level ground and a good-sized fire pit. The creek is beautiful, the stars are amazing, and satellite spotting is always fun. The cows and horses dropped by too!

From the moment I rounded the bend and looked down on the camp-site, I knew I was somewhere special. A large flat grassy space with a ready-made firepit, right beside a creek lined with trees. The hill behind the site means this beautiful spot is secluded, and you have it all to yourself! We saw and heard maybe half a dozen cars drive past the whole time we were there, and the only other sounds were birds and insects, and of course the resident beasts! One of my dogs was not very keen on the horse and cattle visits! But they were inquisitive and friendly, and my other dog got to say hello. The creek was gently babbling and the perfect temperature, with easy access to get cooled off and sit and enjoy the serenity. If you're a self sufficient camper who loves your own space, do not go past this spot! I will be back as soon as I can manage it. 🙂
