Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat is a small family owned and operated campground on the shores of Beautiful lake Moogerah in the heart of the Scenic Rim, SEQLD.
We are conveniently located only 2km from the Cunningham Hwy and are set in a quiet bush location surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Scenic Rim. We have a range of accommodation including powered and unpowered camp sites, group camp areas, bunk style cabins and a fully self-contained cabin.
There is never a shortage of things to do, you can take a canoe or boat out for a cruise on the lake or try your luck at some fishing. Moogerah is well known for its large Bass & Yellow belly. There is a good bushwalk at the property that takes you out to Striker point and into the gorge waterfall with spectacular views along the way. If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond.
We currently don't have a boat ramp however once you have launched your boat at the public boat ramp we have a nice bay in front of the campground where you can anchor your boat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had the Koala Cottage for two nights. It had all the creature comforts of home which was nice as the heavens opened up on our first night. Very well appointed, great stock in the kitchen with adequate utensils, appliances etc. would recommend to friends and family and will definately stay again. Only wish is that there was a boat ramp or a pontoon to get out past the reeds and tree stumps. I scraped and cut my foot on a tree root trying to go for a swim. A little dangerous for someone unsteady. It would be nice if there was a convenience shop even for icecream for the kids would be a plus! But, we had a fantastic time nevertheless. Thankyou to the caretakers for making us feel welcome!

Awesome experience. Rita site manager. Was amazing so helpful great local knowledge and extremely friendly. all the kids that visit had a fantastic time down by the lake as well as just riding their bikes around the site had a great relaxing stay. Ben and Megan greeted me as they were doing work around the camp and they were lovely all round. Great experience thanks very much. A big thumbs up.

Such a relaxing and peaceful place. We loved sitting by the firepit at night under the starry sky and waking up to birds in the morning. Rose was quick to respond and made us feel very welcome. Our family had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely retun next

A beautiful spot with considerate and thoughtful hosts. The Vet Shed is well provisioned with lots of handy things you’d normally have at home. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. Great spot on the lake. Very quiet and private but within a short drive to shops and cafes if you need them. Spectacular views and a charming old house. Well maintained garden with plenty of space and a fire pit. House was comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We made the mistake of leaving the windows open as the sun set and then the house was full of insects (despite the fly screens), so once we knew to avoid that mistake the next night we had no dramas.
