The property also features communal dining and gathering spaces, outdoor activity areas and facilities suited to both small and larger groups, with an approved site capacity of up to 100 people across the retreat.

There is no shortage of opportunities to experience the natural environment at Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat.
Groups can explore the lake through fishing, canoeing, kayaking and other suitable water-based activities, develop practical outdoor living skills, enjoy bushwalking and nature discovery, or simply reconnect with the outdoors through engaging educational and recreational experiences.
Lake Moogerah is well known for its Australian Bass and Yellowbelly fishing, while our onsite bushwalk leads towards Striker Point and the gorge waterfall, offering spectacular scenery along the way.
For those wanting to further explore the region, Spicers Gap National Park is only a short drive away and offers scenic walking tracks and breathtaking views over the Fassifern Valley and surrounding landscapes.
While we do not currently have a boat ramp onsite, groups bringing their own boats can launch at the nearby public boat ramp and utilise the sheltered bay in front of the retreat.
Important Information About Our Retreat
Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat is not a tourist park or standalone transit campground.
Accommodation is available in connection with participation in educational, recreational or nature-based programmes and activities offered at our retreat, rather than as unrestricted drive-in accommodation.
All groups wishing to stay at the retreat are required to participate in an educational or recreational programme, with their chosen activities confirmed as part of the booking process and introduced by our onsite caretaker upon arrival.
Our programmes cater for all ages, abilities and experience levels, ranging from simple, self-guided outdoor activities for families and small groups through to fully guided, structured and tailored experiences.
Activities may include fishing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, bushwalking, stargazing, archery, bush cooking, outdoor survival skills, wildlife observation, campcraft and other nature-based learning and recreational experiences.
Our complimentary Introduction to Outdoor Education & Recreation programme is particularly suited to families, beginners and small groups. It encourages participants to explore, learn and connect with nature through a selection of practical outdoor activities undertaken at their own pace.
Many of our introductory and self-guided programmes are available at no additional cost when participants provide their own equipment, while equipment hire and more structured or guided experiences may attract additional fees.
Programmes can be tailored to suit the interests, abilities and desired outcomes of each group, whether you're planning a school camp, family gathering or reunion, youth programme, workplace team-building retreat, Scouts or Guides activity, sporting group retreat or other organised group experience.
We can cater for groups of varying sizes, up to our approved site capacity of 100 people.

* Only 1 caravan per site allowed.
BOATS
Boat launch locations are available for campers at designated areas within the campsite and to comply with our SEQ Water licence:
* No parking within 20 metres of the water.
* Vehicles must stay on the designated road and cannot drive down to the boat ramp.
* After launching, vehicles and trailers must be parked back up the hill within the Pointro boundary.
* Marquees and similar structures must be at least 6 metres from the water’s edge.
* Boats may be moored during the day but must be removed overnight.
Breaches may result in fines from SEQ Water, which will be passed on to the responsible party.
OTHER RULES
* NO travelling in the back of boats, trailers, jet skis being towed
* NO travelling in the in the back of utes.
* NO trail bikes.
* NO Smoking.
* NO excessive noise and no noise after 10pm.

Before we even booked Eloise was helpful in answering our questions. Upon arrival you get greeted and told how to get up to the tent. The owners have outdone themselves. The whole set up was amazing. The view was breathtaking. The tent has the softest carpet and the bed is super comfy. There is everything you could think you need while camping. Literally just needing to take your food and drinks of choice. They even provide a little power station that powers the fan and anything you need charged. The portaloo was the cleanest one I've ever seen and had a air freshener in there so there no smells. 10 out 10 stand out glamp spot. Will choose them over hotel holidays away anytime of the year.

Absolutely beautiful site! Eloise provided excellent communication from the beginning, helping us with everything we needed before booking and warmly meeting and greeting us upon arrival.
The site itself was beautiful and cozy, with a comfortable bed and all the basic amenities we needed. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay here again. Would also highly recommend it to friends!

2 nights at Duchess Farm (Cabin + Tents/Vans)
This was the best little get away! With the goats to keep you company and board games to disconnect from technology but still having all your luxury amenities at your fingertips it was amazing!
Damien was accommodating to let us check in early as we had cold meat. Overall this was an amazing stay perfectly close to Toowoomba for a day out but nice and secluded for that relaxation. The cabin was very clean and had all the basics provided for you!

Such a beautiful site! The hosts honestly provided so much more than we expected we definitely didn’t need to bring anything! The views are stunning, topped with the relaxing sounds of the cows. We stopped to feed the horses and have a pat and they were so friendly and gentle. Would definitely recommend for a little get away 🫶🏼

Weekend Trip to Runella
It's hard to believe anywhere can still be this quiet! We really enjoy the simplicity and that feeling of being able to turn back the clock a little. Rose and Dennis offer welcoming hospitality and the Shack has everything you need. The open space goes on forever and delivers beautiful sunsets & rises. With plenty of firewood provided the bush tv (fire) keeps the entertainment going. If you have not ventured in a westerly direction I'd highly recommend the Shack. The night sky will amaze you with more stars and satellites than you can imagine. There are lots of country towns around offering many activities, attractions and good food. Check out the Army Aviation Museum in Oakey, it's even free.

We had an amazing time glaming here. Communication was great, they met us at the road and helped us find our way. Communication was great. The site has pretty much everything we could possibly need, even a fan! We loved bringing our dogs. The tent itself was so luxurious and clean, it felt like a sanctuary. The views are incontestable, particularly for star gazing wow wow wow. Would absolutely come again.

If you're thinking about it, book it! The land is absolutely beautiful, so private and easily the best camping/glamping view we’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing. The animals are so well looked after, free roaming and so so happy. Eloise was such an accommodating host, going above and beyond as well as being so kind. Everything was so clean and homey, every single thing was perfectly thought out, we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The star gazing was phenomenal, no light pollution so you can easily see the Milky Way on a clear night. Our dog loved the open space to play and watch the sunset.
We will definitely be back. The stay completely blew us away. Thank you for allowing us to create a really special memory.

We enjoyed a nice peaceful stay at Duchess Farm, the animals were friendly, the cabin was cosy and the meals at Rudd's Pub were delicious.
We even managed ro catch a fish at the local water hole, and I'd highly recommend the Tbone at the pub, possible the best steak I've ever had in my life!

Weekend Trip to Kincaple Ridge
We had the most amazing stay at Kincaple Ridge Glamping! 🥰 The whole experience was so lovely, and the views were absolutely incredible! It was the perfect little getaway.
Eloise was so accommodating and genuinely lovely, making us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The horses were also so friendly and were definitely a highlight of our stay! 🐴🤍
The bed was super comfy, and the heated blankets were absolutely perfect, especially with how cold it was! It made getting cosy at night so much better.
Our dogs had an absolute ball too, which made the experience even better. 🐶🤍 We honestly couldn’t recommend Kincaple Ridge Glamping enough and would absolutely stay again!

Location is so good for us, less than an hour travel from Toowoomba
-initially worried about the roads as we have a 2wd suv, but managed all the way up beside the tent (likely weather dependent)
- amazing views of rolling hills. Happy to come back and just enjoy this more
- picnic table was very functional and handy beside the sink and bbq.
- glamping tent was cozy, set up was fantastic! Loved the decor but more so the anticipation to guests' needs. Aside from the cutleries, towels and drinking water, there were charging cables, lamps/torch, dog bed and teddy, and electric blanket.
Even when the wind picked up at night, all 4 of us still had a restful night.
- loved sitting by the campfire. Attention to detail definitely noted here, hosts had prepared a container of water to extinguish fire. Our firewood bucket already had fire starter and lighter ready too!
- convenience of portable toilet just few metres away from tent
- lovely hosts met us on check-in and check-out and were patient with our reactive boy 🐾 barking in the car
