Come and experience the beauty of our spacious, grassy campground, dotted with shaded trees and taking in stunning mountain views! This is a shared space with our other onsite campers at the front of the property that is bordered by the crystal clear freshwater creek. We don't designate specific sites, rather you get to choose your campsite - shade vs winter sun, fireplace, mountain vs creek view, close to the amenities or use your self-contained onboard bathroom, camp in a big group or put more space between yourself and the other campers - the choice is yours. If you really want to get away from all the other campers, Click on our other exclusive "Gillies Outlook" or "Saddleback Ridge" campsites which are set well away from the general campground. We provide composting and recycling to make your stay as sustainable as possible. Our amenities are clean, well-maintained, and include hot showers to ensure a comfortable camping experience. Gillies Outlook features a shelter shed for shade and weather protection, a picnic table for shared meals, and a fire ring perfect for evening campfires and stargazing on clear nights. Potable water is available on site for added convenience, and well-behaved dogs are welcome, so no family member gets left behind. This site is perfect for tents, swags, camper trailers and lightweight caravans. For convenience, guests are encouraged to bring their own toilet and shower setup, as shared amenities are located approximately 500 metres away in the main campground (Creekside Campground). The amenities have hot showers and toilets, with a separate wash up area for dishes. The campsite features two spacious, flat grassy levels, making it ideal for tents, swags, or a comfortable outdoor setup. You’ll also have a fire ring for cozy evenings under the stars, a picnic table for relaxed meals, and access to potable drinking water for added convenience. The amenities are a short walk away in the main campground (Creekside Campground), with access to hot showers and toilets, and a separate washup area for dishes. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful escape, a romantic night under the stars, or a base for outdoor adventures, this site offers the perfect blend of comfort, scenery, and serenity. Well mannered dogs are welcome too! This is a dog friendly site.

CTM (short for Camp Trailer Maroon) is to a neat, permanent canvas camper trailer structure. It sits on a level pad with a paved annex area that has an outdoor kitchen. It is perfect for relaxing and hassle-free camping. Enjoy breathtaking mountain views and your own private campfire circle. The site overlooks the crystal-clear Logan River, a freshwater creek with rounded river rocks. CTM has a self-contained kitchen with a 3-burner gas camping stove, plus all the crockery and cutlery you need. The camper itself is an open-plan space with: -A queen bed (accessed via a three-rung step ladder) -Two single stretcher beds -Carpeted flooring, overhead lighting, and a single power outlet You might want to bring camp chairs to sit by the creek or a picnic blanket for lounging outdoors. Additional Details: -BYO linen (or we can provide and make up the beds for $25 per person if arranged in advance). -BYO esky for cold storage, or rent ours. -Amenities block is a short 70m walk away. -Car parking is nearby, but not right next to the tent—so be prepared to carry your gear about 20m. Additional campers can book the adjacent identical CTB (Camper Trailer Barney) or book a campsite for tents nearby. Let us know if you have any questions—we're happy to help!

My group and i loved camping here, its spacious, great views, and the owners are really nice. They had a dog who would play and hang out with us for hours everyday, and was not aggressive at all. They sell firewood and ice for a fair price and the amenities block (which had clean showers with hot water) isnt far from any of the campsites. They also had free drinking water at the campsites. Upon arrival the owners showed us some hiking trails, gave us some useful tips and a map for each of them as well as access to their free wifi. They also encouraged us to walk around and explore the area. Overall, it was a great spot to go to, we will be back here one day, i highly recommend.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this campsite. The scenery is stunning, with wide open fields, beautiful mountain views, and incredible sunsets that made evenings by the campfire extra special. It’s very family-friendly, with plenty of space for kids to run around and explore. The nearby creek was a lovely bonus. It was clean, peaceful and refreshing. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a peaceful and memorable camping experience. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place.

Recently stayed here for two nights camping and had a fantastic experience. The facilities are really good, and the park itself is a great size—small and intimate in parts, very well manicured, and clearly well looked after. The hosts were absolutely lovely and very welcoming. The ice and drink facilities are a great idea; if the office isn’t open, they simply charge it to your credit card, which is super convenient. The bathrooms and showers are older, but they were spotlessly clean and very tidy. The location is a real highlight, with only a 5–10 minute walk to some of the best hiking you’ll ever do. We would happily stay again.

Beautiful spot with a fantastic view camp trailer was clean and had all the equipment needed in the kitchen, whole camp ground was very tidy including toilet and showers, great creek for kids to play ,lots of bush walks for all levels of fitness and some really nice swimming holes. I had a great time and will definitely be going back.

Mt Maroon View Camper Trailer
Sitting at the base of Mt Barney and with a small creek for you to cool off and swim, very safe for kids and little ones, very close access to main hikes of Mt Barney, the hosts were lovely and thoroughly enjoyed our chats with them! Everyone else camping were clean and quiet and made for a relaxing time No cell reception, which is great to switch off Knowledgeable staff Good amenities block with warm shower Our views were looking straight at the mountain. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we have recommended to friends and family since, we will be back :)

Had the most beautiful time here. Stayed at the Creekside camp - wallabies hopping round of an afternoon, ducks and ducklings by the creek, which is beautiful and clear, perfect for a swim and to rest by on the grass. Amenities were super clean; the grounds were kept to a very high standard. Only a 15min drive to the Lower Portals walk too! Would definitely stay here again.

What a beautiful camping spot...just right! So green and natural, no crowd, well managed, great amenities, friendly management. Roos and Aussie wildlife are all around. Logan River, in the form of a beautiful little stream flow through the border. Just beautiful!

We loved loved loved our stay at Mt Barney Lodge (Campgrounds). Bec was welcoming, hilarious and so chill about all the things. We think we had the best spots of the campground and didnt mind the stroll up to the loos when needed. The peace and quiet was just what we needed to wind down and see out 2025. Kids loved the creeks and spotting the wildlife. We were so impressed by the amazing grounds, so beautiful and loved that it wasnt crowded or full of party goers. The forced technology break was much needed too. We will be back!

It was a most pleasant experience: relaxing, quiet, with beautiful views, the facilities were fantastic and very clean and in the campground everything was neat and tidy. The hosts gave us helpful advice about swimming holes and walking tracks.

We loved our stay here! The hosts are amazing and the grounds and amenities are very well maintained. The wallabies roaming the property are an added bonus too! We will most definitely be back for our next hike through the Mount Barney National Park 🙌

Mid week was very quiet. Just what you're looking for when hiking in and around the area. Lower section is more flat which suited our setup. Facilities always clean and hot showers most welcome

Beautiful campground and facility however we booked thinking it was nearly empty due to there being limited “sites” to choose from. Hipcamp only shows a fraction of the sites they have to offer, must have multiple sites that they can be booked through. We turned up thinking it would be nearly empty and peaceful and quiet, it was not. There were around 50+ other campers including what appeared to be high school camps. Beautiful spot but not what we were expecting

This is my second time camping there, and I have loved it just as much as the first time. Such a beautiful space, clean facilities, other campers are always friendly and never have anything negative to say about this place. Stunning views, plenty of walks, and so much fun being near animals

Gillies Outlook- Exclusive campsite
My partner and I absolutely loved camping at Mt Barney Eco Park, and in particular, our spot at Volcano View. This site was away from all the other campers, which allowed our group to feel secluded - something we were hoping for! The addition of the small undercover area and camp tables was awesome, and we were able to have many awesome fires in the huge fire pit. The amenities were a walkable distance away, and also very clean and maintained. Hot water was a huge bonus! Potable water from the tap at the site was also extremely helpful. 10/10

It was great to camp at Mnt Barney Lodge. The camp site was lush and green, and you can hear the creek running as you sleep. It’s easy to get to from Brisbane, the facilities are clean, and generally a pleasure to camp there. We did some biking in the surrounding area's. The scenery was spectacular!!
