Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat is a small family owned and operated campground on the shores of Beautiful lake Moogerah in the heart of the Scenic Rim, SEQLD. We are conveniently located only 2km from the Cunningham Hwy and are set in a quiet bush location surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Scenic Rim. We have a range of accommodation including powered and unpowered camp sites, group camp areas, bunk style cabins and a fully self-contained cabin. There is never a shortage of things to do, you can take a canoe or boat out for a cruise on the lake or try your luck at some fishing. Moogerah is well known for its large Bass & Yellow belly. There is a good bushwalk at the property that takes you out to Striker point and into the gorge waterfall with spectacular views along the way. If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond. We currently don't have a boat ramp however once you have launched your boat at the public boat ramp we have a nice bay in front of the campground where you can anchor your boat.

A few other notes - - be aware you'll have to drive on gravel roads for quite a distance. 2WD vehicles can get here, but a 4WD is preferable. The road is rough in a few places - This is not a 4WD park or a ride park. Great spot on the lake. Very quiet and private but within a short drive to shops and cafes if you need them. Spectacular views and a charming old house. Well maintained garden with plenty of space and a fire pit. House was comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We made the mistake of leaving the windows open as the sun set and then the house was full of insects (despite the fly screens), so once we knew to avoid that mistake the next night we had no dramas.

Rustic camping at its finest ! Myself and my 3 boys had a blast at the shack. The place has everything you need to enjoy a good cook up over the fire pit. Billy coffee followed by baked bean jaffles. Very clean and no insects whatsoever. Denis even arranged a tour of the Cotton Ginery that was very interesting and to top it of a ride in the tractor. Rose was a great host and her chickens may now have anxiety after my boys chasing them. Such a great stay and both Rose and Denis are of the kindest of people. We will be back.

Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat is a small family owned and operated campground on the shores of Beautiful lake Moogerah in the heart of the Scenic Rim, SEQLD. We are conveniently located only 2km from the Cunningham Hwy and are set in a quiet bush location surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Scenic Rim. We have a range of accommodation including powered and unpowered camp sites, group camp areas, bunk style cabins and a fully self-contained cabin. There is never a shortage of things to do, you can take a canoe or boat out for a cruise on the lake or try your luck at some fishing. Moogerah is well known for its large Bass & Yellow belly. There is a good bushwalk at the property that takes you out to Striker point and into the gorge waterfall with spectacular views along the way. If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond. We currently don't have a boat ramp however once you have launched your boat at the public boat ramp we have a nice bay in front of the campground where you can anchor your boat.

There's 2 options to choose from - you can book the campsite only, or the campsite including the cabin. Property features - - Great views - Dogs welcome (just don't let them wander) - Portaloo (flushing) - Shower hut (uses shower bags) - Water available for washing, BYO drinking water - Firewood available - Good phone reception (Telstra) - 2WD accessible via Esk or Crow's Nest, 4WD recommended from Blackbutt - I only accept one group at a time, so you don't need to share with other groups The cabin has 12V lighting and a bunk bed with mattresses (double bottom, single top), you'll need to bring your own bedding. A few other notes - - be aware you'll have to drive on gravel roads for quite a distance. 2WD vehicles can get here, but a 4WD is preferable. The road is rough in a few places - This is not a 4WD park or a ride park.
