Haigslea Haven Bush Camping is located 45 minutes west of Brisbane, just 2.8 km off the Warrego Highway.
Our 45-acre property features a seasonal creek and a large dam. We offer both creekside campsites and more private sites nestled among the trees. With easy access for all vehicles, we can comfortably accommodate even the largest of rigs.
Guests can enjoy a rustic camp kitchen equipped with a BBQ, pizza oven, fridge, and a communal fire pit. Personal fires are permitted but must be contained within designated fire pits. Firewood may be collected from the ground.

We are a very short 900m bicycle ride from the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BRVT) which is one of the must-do cycle treks in the southern hemisphere. If you or your crew need a place to stay while riding the trail then this is perfect for you.
The town of Esk and two major dams are very close by where you can browse the antique shops, waterski, or fish to your heart's content.

I stayed at Platypus Point with my partner and dog and we all had an absolute blast! The campsite felt very secluded and was absolutely breathtaking. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be looking to stay again!

Nothing beats a couple of nights under the stars in a swag and the stars were incredible. It was very easy to find the location and it’s very handy that there is great reception as well. The facilities were lovely and clean and the bottle tree was perfect to set up in the shade with a good book. I was lucky enough to see an Echinda in the paddock as well. The campsite is carpeted with wildflowers that add a splash of colour and looking toward the dam in golden hour was beautiful. Perfect location to do several day trips to nearby national parks. I did Coomba Falls, the Paradise track at the Bunya Mountains and crows nest falls from this location. Watching the young foals frolic around in the nearby paddock was entertaining to watch as well.

After a really hard year my soul needed to go out bush. I spent 3 nights at Somerset Valley Farm and it was exactly what I needed! Site 14 is so secluded and quiet, I only saw people walking past once on my last day.
I couldn't recommend this place more!
There was a beautiful dog that came and checked on me most days which was beautiful. The whole experience was perfect and I feel so much better, more grounded, and generally brighter.
I will be going back again on a regular basis.

Dan laughed at my repeated messages wanting to book "one more night", I didn't want to leave the tranquility of the property (other than to visit the local Butcher for Dog Mince). He works regularly at maintaining the grassy sites, is great with communication & happy to share his space.
We'll definitely be back in the New Year :)

Dan picked the perfect spot for my Dogs & I to spend a few days! We had the place to ourselves, so we roamed the spacious, grassy campgrounds & splashed in the creek that flows throughout the sites ✨
*No Wallabys etc thanks to sheep fencing. Just a paired off Goat & Sheep who keep to themselves.
The Shady Retreat has creek frontage & is only a 50m walk from the Dams for a proper swim! This tucked away site is surrounded & shaded by big beautiful trees with more than enough space for Zoomies & Wedding Ceremonies apparently xx
Thanks to Dan for being such a welcoming & responsive Host, & for sharing your peaceful space with us :)

Platypus Point was such a beautiful campsite, we stayed for a weekend but wish we had the whole week as it was so serene and relaxing. We honestly kept forgetting we were less than an hour from the city.
Lexi and Kieren were also wonderful hosts, we really felt so welcomed and privileged to stay on their property. The directions for arrival were clear, we even got a map from the gate on the way in with some helpful tips and facts about the area. The communication throughout the whole trip was really appreciated as well, they made sure to let us know about a few truck deliveries and noises but we weren’t bothered by it at all.
There was also kayaks left on the campsite which was just another added bonus on our trip as we spent most of our time on the water, which was also beautiful.
Hopefully we’ll come back soon and be able to stay for longer as we had such an amazing time.

Lovely cleared area with easy access to the river bank. Caught plenty of catfish, a couple turtles, a perch and a bass on our one night stay. I am pretty certain I saw a platypus also, a brown wide backed creature popped up and ducked back under the water pretty swiftly around 630am to the right of the point. Very private area and quiet. Saw one boat zoom past while we were fishing. Make sure you bring wood as the campfire ring was great to sit around at night. The lovely owners had freshly mowed the grass just before our arrival and had left a handy page of notes on the property for us at the gateway. We will definitely be back :) thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us.

This was a perfect Hipcamp experience. Everything from the communication, instructions, views, kayaks to use and ammenities were outstanding. We can’t wait to come back for a longer stay and relax with this view. We didn’t get lucky with the platypus this time, but so many birds, turtles and lizards. We had a big downpour in the morning but managed to get out no problem. The hosts, Kieran and Lexi, were so kind. They checked in re weather warnings, offered help in case, early check in to ensure the place was mowed in time, and even refunded me a night because my car wasn’t drivable, no fault of theirs. Thank you both so much, we can’t wait to come back!

Had the most relaxing time staying at platypus point, and will definitely be making it a regular stop! The scenery is to die for, so tranquil with the most spectacular sunset over the river. So much wildlife to spot, and exploring the creek looking for platypus is definitely a core memory. Camp-site is clean and well maintained, with a great firepit and picnic table which is so handy.
Being warmer weather, we did spot one pretty little eastern brown snake, so be sensible and wear decent footwear when exploring. Remember it's their home first, and we are just visiting!
Hosts are super friendly and helpful. Thanks so much once again, we cant wait to come back.

Had such a beautiful stay at Lexi and Kieran’s land. From the moment I arrived, Lexi was absolutely lovely — warm and welcoming. There’s only one campsite on the property, so we had the whole place entirely to ourselves, which made it feel extra peaceful and private.
The view of the river was just stunning. Took the kayak out for a paddle and it was so calm and relaxing on the water. My two dogs had the best time exploring, playing, and just being out in nature — it was perfect for them.
Everything about this spot was serene, clean, and well looked after. Such a great place to camp if you’re looking for quiet, space, and a beautiful natural setting. Highly recommend, and I’d happily come back again.
