Bunya Red Farm is a 160 acre mixed farm in the South Burnett, with awesome 360 degree views looking out to the beautiful Bunya Mountains and over farmland. We have cattle; alpacas; grow capers, peanuts and other seasonal crops.
The farm also enjoys a sky full of stars at night with the lights of Kingaroy and wind farm sparkling in the distance.
Bunya Red Farm is 8 kms off the Bunya Highway, with the last few kilometres of gravel road accessible by 2WD, motorhomes or buses.
TV and mobile reception is excellent.
Pet friendly (see rules). Campers must have own amenities for their chosen site and leave no trace.
Campfires permitted but check with hosts first regarding local fire bans before lighting a fire.
4WD required for some sites only if camping in the wet.

Anduramba Bush Camping is located on a 300 acre property approximately 15 minutes south of Blackbutt, Qld. The campsite is on top of a hill with great views. There’s a small cabin on site, you can book the campsite either with or without this. The cabin is quite basic, it has 12v lighting with a USB port suitable for charging phones etc, and a bunk bed with mattresses (double bottom, single top), but you'll need to bring your own bedding.

Lee Farmstay was born in 2005, when the dairy and beef industries proved challengingand it was decided it would be a good decision to start up a farmstay because it would be a good idea to have a stable income and get city people to experience life on the farm."
There are many ways to spend your time during your stay with us. Go for a stroll or cycle around the farm, try to catch a fish in the dam (you'll need to bring your own fishing supplies), play with and feed the animals or play board games. We have a sauna to sweat out the toxins and stress of city living. We also have a trampoline and swing set for children or the young at heart. Finally, end your day with a mouthwatering BBQ and toasting marshmallows around the fire while you gaze up at the stars!

And of course, we're pet friendly! We offer a large Queenslander home and 4 cottages, all built with comfort and convenience in mind.
Our farm is home to a wide variety of friendly animals. There are goats, alpacas, chooks, sheep, miniature horses, guinea pigs, birds, peacocks, dogs, cats, cows, turkeys and ducks! You're able to join us in feeding the animals at approximately 8am and 4pm; this is a particularly special experience for children of all ages! You're also welcome to take part in other farm activities when they occur, including collecting chicken eggs in the afternoon!

Bottle Tree Farm is 10 acres situated on top of a slightly sloping hill which overlooks the surrounding hills, farming crops and Boat Mountain. We have a very old big bottle tree in the middle of our farm, which is one of the biggest in QLD. The sunsets are absolutely amazing here, so golden. The rural roads are lovely for an early or late evening walk on. We rent out a fully contained studio as well which is seperate and inside the farm fencing only for booked guests. Pets welcome for a small fee.
You will be sharing the paddock with three beautiful friendly horses, roaming at their own pace. In the paddock there is also a little renovated shed turned into a cute outhouse called the Heart Shed. Which is just being finished, soon to be able to be booked.
The farm is within a 7 min drive of two IGAs. Plus very close to all the wineries (10 km approx) and it’s delicious food! It’s also the same distance to nearby Bjelke Peterson Dam for water skiing and water sports. Wondai has some gorgeous shops including a wellness shop with a magnesium float tank, antique shops, and the likes. There is a dairy museum in Murgon. A dinosaur and fossil museum called 55 Million Year Old Museum in Murgon too. Also a visit to the Ration Shed Museum in the Indigenous and alcohol free community of Cherbourg is very educational and really worth a visit and only 10 mins away. It has beautiful indigenous pottery and art too. Boat Mountain is nearby and has spectacular views and is a beautiful walk with lots of Koalas.
The area I believe, is a hidden secret and has a sacred feel. Come and experience it for yourself.

A Magical, Soul-Stirring Off-Grid Sanctuary! ★★★★★
We came home. Arriving here felt like stepping back in time to a simpler, truer reality. Our wonderful host, Rose, was ready for us, but the land dictates its own pace. She was out on the tractor rolling feed for the cows, who watched our arrival with gentle, curious eyes, as if genuinely glad for the company. When she finished, she welcomed us with true warmth.
Rose helped us get the off-grid fire going to heat the water—a beautiful return to the old ways. The stunning 70-year-old shed is a rustic masterpiece. Framed by two ancient bottle trees, the interior decor instantly whispered "home" to my soul, deeply resonating with my roots growing up in the bush in a faraway land. It proves the spirit of the land is universal.
As the sun set, an incredible dusk engulfed the sky, almost showing off for our delight. Once darkness fell, the sky truly danced. With zero electricity and no phone signal, we were forced to disconnect from the world to truly connect with ourselves. The Milky Way was blindingly visible, guiding us home, while inside, the crackling fireplace cuddled us in warmth, whispering you are safe. Rose ensured we could reach her anytime, which was incredibly reassuring.
The morning was pure magic. After a golden sunrise and some beautiful time interacting with the cows and horses, we actually went back to bed. Everything here is completely unhurried, peaceful, and deeply relaxing. We will be back in no time.

My husband and I had the most restful and relaxing time at the shack. No “power” but everything you need to feel comfortable. Rose and Denis were incredibly generous and beautiful people. Denis even took us on a tour of the cotton fields and taught us how it’s farmed, which made the experience even more special. The highlight was the incredible sunsets, especially heating up the donkey for a bath and watching the sun go down through the window. We’d come back in a heartbeat next time we’re in the area!

We had a great stay at The Shack! The cabin is rustic, but excellently set up with everything you need if you are looking to take a break and enjoy the peace and quiet. We travelled with our two young kids and a small dog, and everyone loved being out in the countryside and sitting around the fire as the sun went down. Rose was a great host and I would highly recommend a stay at The Shack.

Weekend Trip to Maison de lavande Farmstay
My wife and I had such a nice time on the farm. We both loved the cabin and how you could get up and close with all the animals. It was a nice touch having the door next to the kitchen set up where you could pat and brush the cows and goats right there! We also were given a jar of chicken feed and some hay for the animals so we could feed them when we wanted - and they were all so used to humans. The Bunya Mountains National Park feels like stepping back in time. Leaving the coast behind for the cool, misty air of the South Burnett is like entering another world.
The ancient Bunya Pines are the stars—towering prehistoric trees that give the rainforest a real Jurassic Park feel. For a day trip, the walking tracks are fantastic. The Barker Creek circuit has beautiful waterfall views, while the shorter rainforest walks are perfect for enjoying the lush greenery and listening to the catbirds.
Wildlife is everywhere, with red-necked wallabies often relaxing on the grass, unfazed by visitors. The drive up is part of the experience too, with winding roads and spectacular views across the Darling Downs.
Bring a light jacket, as it’s much cooler than the lowlands, and take time to simply enjoy the peace. Even a few hours here feels like a reset.

Beautiful, but watch out for GimpyGimpy
Great place for walks, but watch out for the mighty Gimpy-Gimpy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dendrocnide_moroides, a very unpleasant experience for get in contact with. It was a learning experience for the whole family, unfortunately they are everywhere, as well on the designated footpath. My worries would be with small children, but saw adults getting in contact , like me and other that were not aware.
The Forrest themselves are beautiful.
