The "Old Victoria" mine shaft still exists on the Mt Nukka property. (Cannot go down due to safety reasons).
The owners of the property (Cyndi and Peter) bought in 1986 and have built their home from the local stone and timber.

The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve.
We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking.
Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome.
The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping.
The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property.
The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic
Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day.
There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Above, birds of prey ride the thermals of the valley looking for their next meal.

If you are looking to get away, put your feet up, switch off and recharge, then this is your perfect spot to enjoy the serenity of farm life with the added mountain views. We have potable bore water, electricity connection, picnic table and bench and firepit. We have two powered caravan sites that can also double up as tent sites. Ideally you should be self sufficient.
Our bore has a solar pump that is rigged up to the water tank at the camp kitchen. Please turn the tap off once you have finished filling up your containers or caravan tanks. Bore water is potable, so can be used for cooking, cleaning, pets, etc.
Any cooking implements and tools that you might need during your stay can be provided at request. Dogs are welcome, just please be mindful of our neighbours. We have a calf and older cow that you are welcome to help us feed.
We are also providing special deals on yoga, tai chi, breath work and meditation classes and we have access to the creek in the summer. We have a beautiful forest across the road, which is perfect for walks, trekking or meditation.
Please ensure that you are mindful of our neighbours, kindly refrain from loud noises between 9pm and 7am and clean up after yourselves and take your rubbish with you, as we don't have garbage collection at the property. There is a dump point in town, with garbage bins, for your convenience.
Nanango has a lovely vibe. It's Queensland's oldest and friendliest town. There are great playgrounds, swimming pool and cart racing in town, which is only about 10 minutes away from the farm. Kingaroy is about half an hour away. There is a great off roading spot in the forest that is literally up the road from us.

We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here.
This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here.
No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in.
The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type.

The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve.
We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking.
Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome.
The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping.
The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property.
The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic
Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day.
There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Above, birds of prey ride the thermals of the valley looking for their next meal.

If you are looking to get away, put your feet up, switch off and recharge, then this is your perfect spot to enjoy the serenity of farm life with the added mountain views. We have potable bore water, electricity connection, picnic table and bench and firepit. We have two powered caravan sites that can also double up as tent sites. Ideally you should be self sufficient.
Our bore has a solar pump that is rigged up to the water tank at the camp kitchen. Please turn the tap off once you have finished filling up your containers or caravan tanks. Bore water is potable, so can be used for cooking, cleaning, pets, etc.
Any cooking implements and tools that you might need during your stay can be provided at request. Dogs are welcome, just please be mindful of our neighbours. We have a calf and older cow that you are welcome to help us feed.
We are also providing special deals on yoga, tai chi, breath work and meditation classes and we have access to the creek in the summer. We have a beautiful forest across the road, which is perfect for walks, trekking or meditation.
Please ensure that you are mindful of our neighbours, kindly refrain from loud noises between 9pm and 7am and clean up after yourselves and take your rubbish with you, as we don't have garbage collection at the property. There is a dump point in town, with garbage bins, for your convenience.
Nanango has a lovely vibe. It's Queensland's oldest and friendliest town. There are great playgrounds, swimming pool and cart racing in town, which is only about 10 minutes away from the farm. Kingaroy is about half an hour away. There is a great off roading spot in the forest that is literally up the road from us.

There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here.
This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here.
No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in.
The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type.

Weekend Trip to Bellbird Lodge
Paul’s place is a gorgeous escape from the business of life, surrounded by trees and birdsong this little gem makes for a relaxing trip away for those who enjoy the tranquility of being outside. The caravan pad is totally set up with hot showers working oven and stove top, water and a comfy bed to sleep.
The swimming hole is fresh and has many small fish and even a turtle.
Paul is a friendly and attentive host and has thoughtfully created his own version of paradise. Thanks for the rest.

We had a great Stay at Jimna Base Camp. Took my 8 year old boy camping and we both had the best time - mountain biking, kayaking, swimming, tennis and basketball. Great Spot and Great Facilities.

We absolutely love Windmill Hollow. We have been countless times and will continue to come back. Jason is an amazing host and he keeps the sites in pristine condition. Beautiful luscious grass that is always nicely mown. Sites are really private and massive. This is a hipcamp well worth checking out.

Hidden Camp Farm Stay is a mixture of beautiful Aussie bush, wandering horses, donkeys, chickens and geese. Honda the family dog came down for a visit as well. The camels were a little shy while we were there.
Callan, Leah and their helpers are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We had a unpowered site, plenty of room for our vehicle and camper trailer.
Lots of space and privacy to camp whether you are, after sites up near the big barn, down near the dam or up on the grassy hill. There are two Tiny Houses as well, set out in the bush.
Amenities are clean, potable water available.
Highly recommend Hidden Camp Farm Stay, a place to destress, back to basics, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, to just stop and regroup. Listen to the cicadas of a night-time, being welcomed in the morning by the wandering donkeys.
It is exciting to see how much work has been achieved in the 6 months, Callan and Leah have been at there Glenwood property. Cannot wait see what you guys do in the future!

We loved camping at Yabba Creek Farm, even in fairly on and off rainy weather the experience was excellent. The hosts were super friendly and helpful offering us to stay in a different site the "Mountain View" site as it had a built structure we could escape the rain under. This was a blessing we were grateful for and allowed us to stay nice and dry.
We took the opportunity to use the free kayaks that are onsite to borrow and had a nice paddle around and swim in the creek with our dog.
We would certainly come again and I'd certainly recommend any of the sites here as they all looked equally well maintained and spacious.

We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at Yabba Creek Farm, the best Hipcamp we have stayed at.
Our site was Silky Oaks, loads of room for our van and two other smaller set ups. Level, lots of shade, well maintained site and the views are fabulous. Easy access to the creek below for a cool swim in the close by swimming hole and the free use of Kayaks was a real bonus.
Dean is the perfect host and could not have been more friendly and helpful.
We highly recommend Yabba Creek Farm , we’ll be back.

We stayed at the Big Fig site at Hopevale for 4 nights and had a really nice, peaceful stay. Jason is a great host, friendly and easy to deal with and the site itself felt private and quiet which we really appreciated. There was heaps of wildlife around too, lots of wallabies, cows wandering past, plenty of birds and we even spotted a snake on our last night which made things interesting. It was a bit disappointing that we couldn’t swim in the dam but we chose to do the hike out to the hidden cave instead and honestly that ended up being more fun and a great little adventure. Overall it’s a lovely spot if you’re after some time in nature and a quiet place to switch off. We really enjoyed our stay.

My family and I loved camping, we were with our 1-year-old baby. we stayed in the place with energy and that of course facilitated our stay. the fact that we had the kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, kettle and etc. is wonderful. in addition the bathrooms are always clean and there is a shower with hot water. we hope to return soon . Calan is super kind and communicative and tries to understand in the best possible way, we are Brazilians and English is still a barrier for us and he was super kind.

Great spot, not too far off the main road yet lots of peace and quiet. We loved the natural bushland setting and especially the wandering menagerie of friendly animals.
Callan and his team of friendly helpers have done wonders with the place since they've been there and it will only get better.
We've already recommended it to many people and hope to be back.

had a very lovely stay at Mountain View.
hike to the cave was a fair bit harder than expected and reception took a further drive out than we had assumed, other than that the campsite was absolutely beautiful and well maintained, extremely peaceful setting with lots of fun to be had and wonderful sights to see. shame the swimming hole was out of season, but the next one in town was close-by enough and so much fun it wasn’t at all an issue!
