Big Baldy Mountain is a 40 acre hobby cattle farm with spectacular views overlooking the Mary Valley. The campground area is spread out, so you won't be surround by a crowd of people. Once parked and settled in you can go on a small hike up to the top of Big Baldy and enjoy the breathtaking view. Experienced 4x4'ers are welcome to drive up there and camp up there, being cautious if it's raining as the red dirt can get slippery! There are no amenities here, so campers will need to be self-contained and leave no trace. There is toilets just down the road at the Dagun train Station, the girls toilet is usually kept unlocked. Campers are welcome to have campfires. We have some fire pits around which you're welcome to move, or use your own or have a contained fire on the ground. There is firewood available just as you go over the cattle grid for $20 for unlimited amount for the duration of your stay, can put cash in the black letter box or pay ID to Amie 0405858741. Located in the middle of the Mary Valley, you’re not far from what the region has to offer. Just a 20 minute drive into Gympie, you can catch the Mary Valley Rattler all the way through from Gympie to Amamoor. Go for a walk to the Amamoor Cascade. Get a bite to eat at the Kandanga pub which is a short 10 minute drive away. Our black Kelpie X, Shadow, will most likely come and say hello, as she loves everyone! My partner and I just camped in a swag and it was such a beautiful spot! The views were incredible and it was so easy to get to, loved that it was spread out and you weren’t camping on top of one another.

My favourite camping spot!
Camp Pine
By far the best camping trip I’ve ever had. The views were absolutely stunning, and the campsites are perfectly spaced out so you get a real sense of peace and privacy. We had the sweetest cows wandering over to visit each day, and the constant sound of birds made it feel so calm. The highlight, without a doubt, was the neighbour’s dog who basically adopted us for the trip—sticking by our side and even chasing the cattle away when they wandered too close at night. Such a beautiful, relaxing spot, and even better that it’s so affordable. I’d recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat. Scruffy stole our hearts and I will definitely be returning to see him!!

We had a peaceful, relaxing stay. The views are gorgeous over the Mary Valley. Directions are easy to follow and location is not far from Gympie, Kandanga and Imbil. We would definitely recommend.

We had a great night camping with our 4x4 roof tent set up. Made it up to the top up the 4x4 track, fairly steep but worth it. Wonderful views across the valley and a beautiful sunrise.

Camp Pine at Big Baldy mountain had such amazing views of the rolling Mary valley hills. We had a few visits from the dogs, they were so cute and good company. Would definitely recommend this peaceful getaway location.

Was an absolutely amazing stay! The view is amazing and the space is awesome, not over crowded or loud. The dogs were so cute!! They came over every day and let us give them some cuddles and showed us how they work which was amazing. However it’s said firewood is provided but on arrival it’s actually $20 for unlimited for a day which is a good deal but worded in correctly and a wrong impression for other campers, as we didn’t bring any firewood and just had enough to purchase some. But a great stay.

We had a really nice stay here. The owner is super nice, welcoming, and very helpful. The campsite is beautiful and quiet, with a lovely view. There were cows and dogs around, which added to the nice, relaxed atmosphere. A great place to enjoy nature and unwind. Would definitely recommend staying here. 🌿⭐️

Wow! We loved this place. The views of the Mary Valley are spectacular! Such beautiful sunrises, especially from the top of the hill. The host dogs were so friendly and we enjoyed their company. Perfect base to explore the Mary Valley and so peaceful

Absolutely beautiful place. The views are amazing. The cows wander through camp. The dogs come and visit. Only 4 campsites. Very quiet. Will definitely be back.

It was epic ! The view from the top is breath taking , probably one of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve seen in my hole life , the night was full of shooting stars … magical place ! You will need a 4x4 to get to the top of the mountain but if you don’t have one you still can camp at the bottom witch still very nice Thanks Nathan for sharing a bit of your land Was a great experience

What a spot so peace and quiet at night you can hear an old train horn giving the place some character and atmosphere. The bird noises in the morning of course were magical as well as the views. Nathan was a great $20 fire wood at the gate you can pay ID so even if you forget cash you’re all sweet we’ll definitely be coming back!

A chilled stay at Camp Pine! Loved the roaming cattle & visits from clever girl Shadow. Sublime sunsets & sunrises, unlimited (cheap!) firewood & an easy check-in from Nathan. Thank you!! Friendly fellow campers who spaced themselves out. Remember to pack an outdoor mat (rich red dirt). Can highly recommend the Dagun Grower’s Market on a Sat afternoon for your campfire feast. Very happy campers here, thank you Nathan 🔥🪵🐾

My partner and I absolutely loved camping at Camp Pine Big Baldy Mountain. It was our first ever Hipcamp and we had such an amazing time with breathtaking views, nice clear skies and ultimate privacy. We drove to the very top to camp on the mountainside and woke up to the most stunning sunset. There were also COWS!
