"Arcadia"

Our property "Arcadia" is located at Moongan, which was once a bustling Railway Station at the top of the Rack Railway. "Arcadia" is just over 2 acres with a nice flat camping spot beside the seasonal creek. You will be camping right where early settlers once camped and watered their draught horses in bygone days. Teamsters would gather here and collaborate to join their teams together to traverse the steep Razorback bringing supplies to the gold mine and its workers. Behind the homestead the land rises steeply to overlook the valley below and offers nice views for sunset gazers. We are at the very start of a permaculture makeover, with the design phase still in progress. Our business is named Moonrise Organixs and we have a produce stall at the front gate with an ever increasing range of chemical-free products. We have an infant orchard, mandala veggie patch, tea garden, poultry and a small grass arena. We are a kid, dog and horse friendly property! There is an unofficial rail trail nearby and lots of tracks for horse riding, hiking, rock climbing and motor bike riding. The quaint Gold Mining town of Mount Morgan is steeped in history, with a full suite of facilities and is only 5km away. Rockhampton is 25km and Gracemere 15km away. If you are interested in the history of Moongan, just strike up a conversation with Angie and she will be glad to share what she knows. Please note: Mount Morgan is situated at the top of the great Dividing Range. There are two ways to approach Mt Morgan from the east - up the windy range road A3 Burnett Highway or up the straight and steep (17% incline) Razorback Rd. Our property is located at Moongan just at the top of the steep Razorback incline. USE LOW GEAR from the bottom as it gets steeper towards the top. Directions from Bouldecombe: 4km west of Bouldecombe, turn right onto Poison Creek Rd. Follow until the end (4km) then turn left onto Razorback Rd. In another 4 km you will reach the steep incline and our property is at the top. Despite the address being Leydens Hill Rd, the driveway is actually accessed off Razorback Rd. Don't turn down Leydens Hill Rd, especially if you are towing as this is a narrow road and turning around can be difficult. There is a pit dunny outhouse but no shower. We offer a 10amp outlet only. Please come prepared with whatever equipment is needed to convert to 15amp if required. Water is our most precious and limited resource so please arrive with full tanks and adequate drinking water for the duration of your stay. We are in a dry period right now so it is hot and brown. This is a leave no trace site. Please take all your rubbish with you when you leave. If no one is home to greet you please just choose a site in the front driveway paddock which suits you. 😉 We won't be far away. Come in peace, stay in harmony, leave with a full heart.

Our farm is located 55km north of Rockhampton, conveniently, just a short distance off the Bruce highway. Good road access. Note Rates are per vehicle Max 2 adults and accompanied Children free. Additional Adults and Children is $20 per person thru Hipcamp or paid on arrival. Please Book a day in advance if possible. Our campsites are great for a weekend adventure with the family or an overnight stopover for travelers. There are lots of options for bushland settings with good privacy or you may prefer to set up in front of a waterhole or out in the wide paddock. Campsites are 2WD friendly and there's enough space for all types of camping vehicles. Bonfire nights catered for upon request - see conditions. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. There is access to rubbish facilities. As you can tell from the name, this is big sky country. We have views for days and days, great sunrises and amazing sunsets. The land features Ironbark and Gum trees and waterholes throughout with rolling pastures. Paid Tours include Pondage areas with Bird life / Horses / Donkeys and Kid Goats and Cattle Goats / Cattle./ Horses / Donkeys As we run beef cattle, and have horses and donkeys too. Our farm animals are very friendly for those on tour and there are photo opportunities aplenty. Campfires are permitted by arrangement of the farm manager, and if weather permits. Please message us for an update on conditions. We may also be able to offer a farm tour and other activities by arrangement. No pets please. Contact us for enquiries.

Bouldercombe Recreational Grounds

The level grounds are located in the Bouldercombe village area at the base of a mountain range. It is an easy 20 minute drive to Rockhampton and 15 minutes from the historical mining town of Mount Morgan.

A suitable 4WD access is recommended. The property offers 5 private sites approximately 100 meters a part. There are no amenities here, campers will need to be self contained and leave no trace. Pets welcome, please make sure they are under control and cleaned up after. Relax in peace and quiet at your camp site, enjoy your private camp fire with plenty of firewood. Say Gday to the Neighbouring cattle. This is a Quiet, noise free bush camp. It’s for quiet relaxing activities, you may like reading a good book under the shade of the trees, long walks along the peaceful country roads, plenty of space to let your dog run around and play while you plan your itinerary for your next leg of your travels. Australian Bush there is a possibility of wild life wandering into your camp site. Suitable clothing like closed in footwear, jeans/long pants, sun protection. Do not feed any wildlife and please do not throw scraps/food into the bush! Please use your own rubbish/waste disposal set up. Approximately 10 kilometres off the Bruce Highway.

We had an awesome stay at Bridgewater. We had 4 vans on site, All gathered around the supplied fire pit with supplied fire wood. Scotty came down and told us about the land and some history of the area over a couple beers. Top bloke! We all spent a day up at blackdown national park exploring the legendary rainbow falls and the water holes up above it. 100% top place highly recommend And my wife loved talking to the cows around the property 🐄

Such lovely host. Wow so relaxing by the stream with a nice hot fire. 🔥 teenage kids loved having a game of cricket. 100% will be going back and staying longer next time when we are up this way. Highly recommended.

On the banks of the beautiful Fitzroy River is the Rockhampton Water Ski Club. Only ten minutes drive from the Rockhampton CBD is the opportunity to access the only camping location along the fresh water side (upstream) of the Fitzroy River Barrage. This site offers full amenities, including hot water showers, flushing toilets, built in bbq's, and a camp kitchen. You can enjoy getting back to nature with the picturesque river views and enjoy the beautiful landscape or you can sit around the fire and tell some yarns with the family. Other activities that the site provides is direct access to the Fitzroy River via the clubs boat ramp, and doc, water skiing, fishing and of course you're more than welcome to bring your own canoes or kayaks. There are plenty of places for the kids to play and swim, so come for a day or a whole week.

Bridgewater is a working cattle property that borders the Dawson ranges. We are also located an hour from the Blackdown Tablelands. There is an abundance of native wildlife, and wide open skies great for stargazing at night. There is also an abundance of native trees and plenty of wood to collect for your fires at night when the season allows. Plenty of space to have privacy and relax in the bush with beautiful views of the mountains to the south and west. Located at the end of a 21km gravel council road you will be rewarded with beautiful views, sunrises, sunsets and peace and quiet in abundance apart from the wonderful wildlife that is. Pull in to a quiet bush setting, set up your fire pit for the evening and grab a drink and enjoy the birds come to life, perhaps see the wild horses, and cattle or the kangaroos, emus or brolgas go past. Enjoy a day trip to the stunning Blackdown Tablelands or simply relax in the beautiful surroundings. Bring your bikes for a ride on the dirt tracks. For safety though remember to supervise your kids at all times as we have open waterways and dams so there are some hazards. Also remember that eastern brown snakes are in this region so be snake aware. If you bring your pets they need to be on a leash at all times so that they are safe, there are sometimes Dingoes and wild pigs that wander through the property seasonally. There is some mobile phone service at the campsites but not always. We look forward to helping you enjoy your stay on our property. Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided.

12 acres of gently sloping land with views of Gracemere. Very quiet and serene property for a perfect relaxing getaway. We have sheep and cattle on the property. Out next lots of lambs are due around February 2023, so if you kids would like to have some farm experience and feed the sheep, feel free to keep us in mind! We also have two heifers and a bull hopefully they be in calf soon. Farm fresh mangoes are also available around Christmas time, so come in time for them! All sites are mowed and well taken care off. Very secure sites if you wish do leave the site during the day to take a trip around. Can provide water upon request. 3 powered are available, book via powered site listing.
