Our campsites are located in a rural setting with plenty of shady trees, friendly cows and mountain views close to the Fitzroy River. Relax around a campfire on a peaceful dam and listen to the kookaburras. Dip your toes into the cool water whilst sipping watching the sunset.
It is 10km to the upgraded Fitzroy River/Thompson Point boat ramp and pontoon. Enjoy some excellent fishing and crabbing on the river, bird watching and bush walking up the many hills. Only 1/2 hr. drive to the beaches (Emu Park and Yeppoon), National Parks (Mt Etna Caves, Mt Archer Baga, Limestone Creek), and Rockhampton (Kershaw Gardens and Rockhampton Free Zoo).
Campfires in the firepits provided on each site. Pre-cut fire wood for sale on site. Pets are welcome, however the must be kept within your allocated campsite area and supervised at all time. (Dogs are not allowed to chase livestock or native animals). Quiet genset are also allowed.
Definitely no boats to be backed into the dam for washing purposes. Fish cleaning and boat washing facilities at the solar bore near front entrance. Telstra mobile reception. TV reception with antenna. We a setup for fully self contained camping, however there is a basic bush shower/toilet available for our campers.
The dam is a pristine eco area and no soap/detergents/chemicals to used in/around it. The dam is stocked with silver perch and bass – catch and release.

Our property "Arcadia" is located at Moongan, which was once a bustling Railway Station at the top of the Rack Railway. "Arcadia" is just over 2 acres with a nice flat camping spot beside the seasonal creek. You will be camping right where early settlers once camped and watered their draught horses in bygone days. Teamsters would gather here and collaborate to join their teams together to traverse the steep Razorback bringing supplies to the gold mine and its workers.
We are a kid, dog and horse friendly property!
There is an unofficial rail trail nearby, large Dam #7 and lots of tracks for horse riding, hiking, rock climbing and motor bike riding.
The quaint Gold Mining town of Mount Morgan is steeped in history, with a full suite of facilities and is only 5km away. Rockhampton is 25km and Gracemere 15km away.
Please note: Mount Morgan is situated at the top of the great Dividing Range. There are two ways to approach Mt Morgan from the east - up the windy range road A3 Burnett Highway or up the straight and steep (17% incline) Razorback Rd.
Our property is located at Moongan just at the top of the steep Razorback incline. USE LOW GEAR from the bottom as it gets steeper towards the top. Directions from Bouldecombe: 4km west of Bouldecombe, turn right onto Poison Creek Rd. Follow until the end (4km) then turn left onto Razorback Rd. In another 4 km you will reach the steep incline and our property is at the top.
Despite the address being Leydens Hill Rd, the driveway is actually accessed off Razorback Rd. Don't turn down Leydens Hill Rd, especially if you are towing as this is a narrow road and turning around can be difficult.
There is a pit dunny outhouse but no shower. We offer a 10amp outlet only. Please come prepared with whatever equipment is needed to convert to 15amp if required.
Water is our most precious and limited resource so please arrive with full tanks and adequate drinking water for the duration of your stay. We are in a dry period right now so it is hot and brown. This is a leave no trace site. Please take all your rubbish with you when you leave.
If no one is home to greet you please just choose a site in the front driveway paddock which suits you. 😉 We won't be far away.

Mount Morgan is situated on the Dee River, 38 km south of Rockhampton, and is an old gold mining town with lots of history and two museums, a railway and a town history museum. There are plenty of lookouts to see out over the town and the mine site. The Number 7 Dam, has walking and mountain bike tracks for beginners and the more advanced.

Mount Morgan was a mining town. Mining of clay in a nearby hill for the production of furnace bricks continuing until the early 1900s, the resulting man-made caves came to be known as the Fireclay Caverns, which contained large openings that measure between 4–12 metres in height from the cave floor. Dinosaur footprints (preserved as infills) were later found in nine different sections of the Caverns, lining the ceiling dated to the Early Jurassic.
There is also a community swimming pool, skate park and general playground near the Dee River on Butler St. The town has three pubs, an IGA, and a small general store directly across the street from the camp site. The Grand Hotel is the oldest pub, and is still trading in town.

Our property "Arcadia" is located at Moongan, which was once a bustling Railway Station at the top of the Rack Railway. "Arcadia" is just over 2 acres with a nice flat camping spot beside the seasonal creek. You will be camping right where early settlers once camped and watered their draught horses in bygone days. Teamsters would gather here and collaborate to join their teams together to traverse the steep Razorback bringing supplies to the gold mine and its workers.
We are a kid, dog and horse friendly property!
There is an unofficial rail trail nearby, large Dam #7 and lots of tracks for horse riding, hiking, rock climbing and motor bike riding.
The quaint Gold Mining town of Mount Morgan is steeped in history, with a full suite of facilities and is only 5km away. Rockhampton is 25km and Gracemere 15km away.
Please note: Mount Morgan is situated at the top of the great Dividing Range. There are two ways to approach Mt Morgan from the east - up the windy range road A3 Burnett Highway or up the straight and steep (17% incline) Razorback Rd.
Our property is located at Moongan just at the top of the steep Razorback incline. USE LOW GEAR from the bottom as it gets steeper towards the top. Directions from Bouldecombe: 4km west of Bouldecombe, turn right onto Poison Creek Rd. Follow until the end (4km) then turn left onto Razorback Rd. In another 4 km you will reach the steep incline and our property is at the top.
Despite the address being Leydens Hill Rd, the driveway is actually accessed off Razorback Rd. Don't turn down Leydens Hill Rd, especially if you are towing as this is a narrow road and turning around can be difficult.
There is a pit dunny outhouse but no shower. We offer a 10amp outlet only. Please come prepared with whatever equipment is needed to convert to 15amp if required.
Water is our most precious and limited resource so please arrive with full tanks and adequate drinking water for the duration of your stay. We are in a dry period right now so it is hot and brown. This is a leave no trace site. Please take all your rubbish with you when you leave.
If no one is home to greet you please just choose a site in the front driveway paddock which suits you. 😉 We won't be far away.

Mount Morgan is situated on the Dee River, 38 km south of Rockhampton, and is an old gold mining town with lots of history and two museums, a railway and a town history museum. There are plenty of lookouts to see out over the town and the mine site. The Number 7 Dam, has walking and mountain bike tracks for beginners and the more advanced.

Mount Morgan was a mining town. Mining of clay in a nearby hill for the production of furnace bricks continuing until the early 1900s, the resulting man-made caves came to be known as the Fireclay Caverns, which contained large openings that measure between 4–12 metres in height from the cave floor. Dinosaur footprints (preserved as infills) were later found in nine different sections of the Caverns, lining the ceiling dated to the Early Jurassic.
There is also a community swimming pool, skate park and general playground near the Dee River on Butler St. The town has three pubs, an IGA, and a small general store directly across the street from the camp site. The Grand Hotel is the oldest pub, and is still trading in town.

We took a 22” caravan and a camper truck here. Reasonably flat and power available if you request it in advance. Heaps of fruit trees all around and you are actually encouraged to go and explore. Daryl was very knowledgeable about the things he was growing and happy to share the process that he was going through. Who knew mulberries and bananas were so important!
Toilet and shower available. Pretty bush style toilet but flushing etc. Didn’t use the shower on the property but it looked fine.
Chickens, sheep and cattle to have a look at. Chickens were very friendly. All in all a peaceful getaway. Rained most of the time but that was all good. I would definitely recommend for a few nights away.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The owners were very welcoming and friendly, the bathroom and shower facilities were clean and comfortable, and the views were stunning. Being surrounded by adorable cows added such a charming touch to the camping experience.

Cannot fault anything. The camping area is beautifully manicured and catered for swag, tent or caravans of all sizes. A toilet on site, no showers. Fantastic for a quiet stay or an abundance of space for kids to play. Pricing is spot on. 12 minute drive from central Rockhampton. We loved this place. Jo and Dave were very kind and accommodating. Loved the facilities. We are only sad that we arrived late and had to leave early. We saw the sunrise here.. We hope to come back in the near future.

Such a gorgeous spot to camp. We booked this site as we were on a big road trip passing through so we are bummed this isn’t a place we will be able to frequent as its so peaceful and beautiful. Great for pets! Awesome to have an onsite shower too!

We had a really great stay here. Such a beautiful spot up on a hill overlooking the coast. The amenities were modern, clean and well maintained as well as the camp kitchen. We made woodfired pizzas one night using the oven which was a great treat. Thankyou, we'd like to stay again!
