Please note: there are no facilities on-site, so this is suitable only for fully self-contained campers with their own toilet and shower. Whether you're in a caravan, RV, or tent, you'll find ample room to relax and unwind. As a quiet family living at the back of the block, we maintain a no-party policy to preserve the serenity of the space. We totally understand that your furry friend is part of the family, and they're more than welcome to join you. We just kindly ask that you keep your dog close by and on a lead while you're here. Also, we’re surrounded by beautiful bushland, and it’s not uncommon to see kangaroos and other wildlife around. Bridgewater is a working cattle property that borders the Dawson ranges. We are also located an hour from the Blackdown Tablelands. There is an abundance of native wildlife, and wide open skies great for stargazing at night. There is also an abundance of native trees and plenty of wood to collect for your fires at night when the season allows. Plenty of space to have privacy and relax in the bush with beautiful views of the mountains to the south and west. Located at the end of a 21km gravel council road you will be rewarded with beautiful views, sunrises, sunsets and peace and quiet in abundance apart from the wonderful wildlife that is. Pull in to a quiet bush setting, set up your fire pit for the evening and grab a drink and enjoy the birds come to life, perhaps see the wild horses, and cattle or the kangaroos, emus or brolgas go past. Enjoy a day trip to the stunning Blackdown Tablelands or simply relax in the beautiful surroundings. Bring your bikes for a ride on the dirt tracks. For safety though remember to supervise your kids at all times as we have open waterways and dams so there are some hazards. Also remember that eastern brown snakes are in this region so be snake aware. If you bring your pets they need to be on a leash at all times so that they are safe, there are sometimes Dingoes and wild pigs that wander through the property seasonally. There is some mobile phone service at the campsites but not always. We look forward to helping you enjoy your stay on our property. Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided.

Mugul Mountain Retreat is a 300 acre property adjacent to Mt Colosseum (or Mugul as it is called by the local Indigenous peoples). The property borders the national park of Mt Colosseum. Mugul is a site of significance for the Gooreng Gooreng people. Our property is home to a multitude of pretty face wallabies, kangaroos, bandicoots, goannas, possums and over 60 species of birds. A serene and peaceful place Mugul is where you can experience the energy of a sacred Indigenous site. Accessible for all types of vehicles. Dog friendly. The property offers basic camping without facilities. You will need to be self-sufficient. We have a bush toilet but no showers. At the house there are toilets and showers available for an extra charge. Please see us if required. Campfires permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place. You can purchase firewood from us (see Extras). We prefer you to bring your own water, emergency supply can be arranged (we are on tank water). Patchy mobile reception.

Only allowing 6 campers a night. 4kms from Gracemere shopping world. 3kms to Domino's. Plenty of shade, must book. In a cul-de-sac. Out of the hassle and busy town. The Gracemere hotel has a courtesy bus that will pick up and deliver you back. 20 minutes from Rockhampton. Awesome sunsets.

What a cracker of a spot, very secluded and quiet. Tight to get in but worth it. Even get about 5 hours of sunlight as this was just right to charge batteries. Lots of firewood to easily pick up around the site. Camp is about halfway between Noosa and Eumundi so really easy to get to both. Perfect spot!!!!

Weekend Trip to Apple Gum Bush Camp

Great location with a short drive to Agnes Water and 1770. There’s only 2 sites and we were the only people there so it was super private. You can’t see the camping spots from the road. If both spots are booked, you might see each other, but there’s plenty of space between the sites. This would be a great spot for a small group. The fire pit in site 1 would be great on a cool night, and I imagine it would light up the trees beautifully. There’s a small amount of road noise, but it was barely noticeable. On arrival, don’t misinterpret the directions to site 2 like we did. You can see site 1 from the drive way. You need to turn right towards site 1 to go past it to site 2 (rather than passing it and staying on the driveway).

Peaceful spot with secluded sites, a friendly host who introduced us to the gorgeous cows and the stars at night were amazing! Town is only 9 minutes away with a fantastic park for kids and good meals at the local pub (who also serve great coffee at the front cafe in the morning). A great stop over for us with two little kids!

We loved it so much here. Very private, quiet and spacious. Generous and friendly hosts. Lots of free firewood and pits provided for use. Long drive off the highway as advertised - true off the beaten track vibes. Used as our base for Blackdown Tablelands.

We loved the solitude and open space of this camp. The frogs serenaded us each evening. With so little light pollution the stars were spectacular. Fire wood and fire place provided by the excellent hosts Scott and Anita. Be aware it is a 22km dusty dirt road in, but that’s part of creating the solitude. Highly recommend.

Thanks Anita and Scott for having us! We loved our stay - an easy day trip out to Blackdown Tablelands. We loved sharing the paddock with the cows and horses - kids thought it was awesome. The 3 campsites are close to each other but there was no one else there during our stay so we had the entire paddock to ourselves! :) Scott even dropped off a fire pit and delivered wood each arvo for us.

Really enjoyed our 6 nights. Site 1 is very large as seen in photos certainly plenty of room for a large group. Site 2 is slightly smaller but still lots of space. Very easy to find,blue barrel on the drive which you can not miss. See photo of google maps, it send you down a right turn...just carry on the and the driveway is 100 metres past. A small sign indicating site 2 would be good at the hipcamp sign, this will save others looking for site 2 driving onto and setting up on site one. The hosts directions were very clear to us, just read the information. You can hear rd noise but it's not a busy rd and didn't bother us. A 1 min drive to a fantastic coffee house and just a few mins more to Agnes and 1770. We love our yearly trips to Agnes and will certainly stay at this camp again.

This was a great place to camp, and so close to 1770 and Agnes Waters. Michael located our party of two vans in a large open paddock away from other campers and it was very secluded. Michael even dropped off a brand-new fire pit for us to use, great service! We would definitely recommend this hip camp and we would stay there again.

Really nice stay on Anita and Scott’s property. Such terrific hosts and even the cows came over to welcome us. The property is well off the main road and quiet. The camping area is very large with firewood provided. You can even walk along a couple of paths during the day. We had a memorable two night stay with a couple of friends and really enjoyed it. And so many stars at night! Would definitely stay again!

We had a lovely time at Bridgewater Camp. We didn't get to meet Anita, but Scott (husband) was fabulous, very helpful and friendly. Happy to share his knowledge of the land. Directions to get to their location were very clear. They provided fire wood and a fire pit, this was appreciated as it did get cold at night. I would recommend this stay.

Nice isolated camp near a creek on grass - Scott was a great host and brought us free firewood an a few yarns - gotta love farmers !! Track in from dingo was 22 ks of dusty rd so probably wouldn’t suit the mr & mrs clean of this world but they are all Crammed in a caravan park somewhere anyway ! Great stay thanks so much Scott & Anita
