Our property "Arcadia" is located at Moongan, which was once a bustling Railway Station at the top of the Rack Railway. "Arcadia" is just over 2 acres with a nice flat camping spot beside the seasonal creek. You will be camping right where early settlers once camped and watered their draught horses in bygone days. Teamsters would gather here and collaborate to join their teams together to traverse the steep Razorback bringing supplies to the gold mine and its workers.
We are a kid, dog and horse friendly property!
There is an unofficial rail trail nearby, large Dam #7 and lots of tracks for horse riding, hiking, rock climbing and motor bike riding.
The quaint Gold Mining town of Mount Morgan is steeped in history, with a full suite of facilities and is only 5km away. Rockhampton is 25km and Gracemere 15km away.
Please note: Mount Morgan is situated at the top of the great Dividing Range. There are two ways to approach Mt Morgan from the east - up the windy range road A3 Burnett Highway or up the straight and steep (17% incline) Razorback Rd.
Our property is located at Moongan just at the top of the steep Razorback incline. USE LOW GEAR from the bottom as it gets steeper towards the top. Directions from Bouldecombe: 4km west of Bouldecombe, turn right onto Poison Creek Rd. Follow until the end (4km) then turn left onto Razorback Rd. In another 4 km you will reach the steep incline and our property is at the top.
Despite the address being Leydens Hill Rd, the driveway is actually accessed off Razorback Rd. Don't turn down Leydens Hill Rd, especially if you are towing as this is a narrow road and turning around can be difficult.
There is a pit dunny outhouse but no shower. We offer a 10amp outlet only. Please come prepared with whatever equipment is needed to convert to 15amp if required.
Water is our most precious and limited resource so please arrive with full tanks and adequate drinking water for the duration of your stay. We are in a dry period right now so it is hot and brown. This is a leave no trace site. Please take all your rubbish with you when you leave.
If no one is home to greet you please just choose a site in the front driveway paddock which suits you. 😉 We won't be far away.
Come in peace, stay in harmony, leave with a full heart.

We loved the peace and quiet, boat ramp easy walk and great fishing. Sites are level and fire pits set up. Bring the midgie deterent, but wernt too bad. We stayed three days would have stayed more.

Great spot for launching the boat (at high tide, although we were there for the 5m tides). Few mozzies around but usually at dusk and nothing a bit of RID and long clothing can’t fend off. Got into our groove of early morning fishing, afternoon camps showers and fresh mud crab eating early evening.

Peaceful spot with secluded sites, a friendly host who introduced us to the gorgeous cows and the stars at night were amazing! Town is only 9 minutes away with a fantastic park for kids and good meals at the local pub (who also serve great coffee at the front cafe in the morning). A great stop over for us with two little kids!

Very easy to find, we were the only ones there, had Pottable water and an electrical connection there too. The land was good and the lady was nice and had some beautiful horses on site and also had the most amazing dog Domino that came over for cuddles and strokes. Thank you for a great stay'

Awesome spot to stay and fish! Heaps of space to choose from to set up camp, camp fires allowed and walking distance to the boat ramp on Ranglewood Farm property to fish. Kids caught some Bream and Flounder! Midges are about so def bring repellent!

Lots of big open space, you can be away from everyone right down the back of the property. The cows are super cute.

We absolutely loved camping at Kinvara! The hosts were fabulous and so generous with their time showing our girls around the property. We had the place to ourselves and chose the hilltop site which was huge - the other two sites were also a generous size with a cracking view over the property towards the mountain. Probably one of the best Hip Camps we have stayed at.
