Welcome to MT. L Bush Camp, our special slice of paradise! Our land spans 680 beautiful acres of diverse natural beauty! Only 10kms from the highway. Pitch you tent or swag, pull out your camp trailer, park your caravan and enjoy the natural beauty. The camping areas are mainly open paddocks, with some other options to go more remote (a 4WD will be required). You will need to be self-contained as there are no toilets, so campers will need to bring their own setup. But we do have showers! A little comfort for your bush escape. Activities: Stargazing: With minimal light pollution, our location is perfect for stargazing. Lay out a blanket and be one with nature. Campfires: Enjoy a classic campfire experience. Roast marshmallows, share stories, and embrace the warmth of the fire (maybe not so much in summer). Photography: Whether you're a professional photographer or just love snapping pictures with your phone, the ever-changing landscapes and wildlife make for fantastic photo opportunities. Bush walking/ mountain biking: With up to 20kms of bushing walking or mountain biking, enjoy the natural bush land and wildlife. Nearby Attractions: Royal Mount Larcom Hotel: Enjoy an amazing meal at the Royal Mount Larcom Hotel Mount Larcom Climb: 360-degree view of the Gladstone area, rural lands and the harbour. 5 hours should be allowed to complete the climb. Fishing: Only 39 kms away from the Ramsey Crossing boat ramp were you launch you boat an go fishing and crabbing. Come and create unforgettable memories on our land, where nature's beauty and outdoor experiences await you. We can't wait to host you!

Very nice spot to camp with great showers and huge open space providing a great view of the stars. Clear instructions on how to get there. Fast responses from Renee and very pleasant to deal with. Firepit and supply of firewood was well received.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful bush camp. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights was that they provided firewood, which made it easy to enjoy a campfire each evening under the stars. The property was peaceful, well maintained, and surrounded by stunning natural bushland. We loved seeing the cows wander past during our stay – it really added to the authentic country experience. The atmosphere was relaxing, quiet, and perfect for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy nature. We would definitely recommend this camp to anyone looking for a friendly, scenic, and memorable camping experience. We can’t wait to come back!

Mt. Larcom was a great place to stop near Rockhampton. It was easy to get to and quiet. The space was in a nice flat clearing with a lovely tree for shade. The fire pit was an added bonus for the night.

Off the beaten track gem

We stayed mid-week and the night sky was amazing. It’s a little off the beaten track on a well maintained gravel road. We suggested to Renee having a flag or sign to clearly indicate the right gate. Once on the property it was a delight and we enjoyed a pit fire with plenty of firewood provided.

Great little farm stay. The hosts were super accommodating. Provided plenty of wood for the fire pit free of charge. The showers were super easy to use and made the stay all that more enjoyable and comfortable.

This was such an epic campsite for us! We loved the big wide open space and were lucky enough to be the only ones in the paddock that evening. The hosts came and said hi and brought us some logs for the fire pit which we were so grateful for. Would 100% stay again. The hot showers in the rustic barn were soooo cool too!

Extremely private, quiet and well maintained. Chopped firewood ready as well! Absolutely loved this spot under the tree. Was about 10km off the highway (bit of dirt road but easy to drive on). The walks through the property were lovely. Lots of birdlife.

this spot is a perfect little retreat away from home. for the price, you get hot showers, the owner showed us to the camp, and it was so relaxing for the dogs. absolutely perfect bush camp! I had the best night sleep id had in a while. will definitely come back on our travels.

Absolutely loved our time here, had the whole place to ourselves. Renee had a fire going already on our arrival and was very accommodating to our need for a later arrival. Waking up and listening to the birds and the wind was very relaxing, nice walks around the area too.

Recharged Weekend Retreat!

This camp-site is incredible. Hubby and I feel recharged after our amazingly relaxing weekend at ML Open Paddock Camping. Renee was so flexible with our undetermined arrival time and as it was a little late they had a fire started for us. We got maps sent to us with how to get to our site, and even walking tracks around the area. We had the whole place to ourselves too. Hubby and I was just blown away with the hospitality and price. Seriously this is a place you should not drive past. We will definitely be back to explore more. Thank you 😊

Great spot, would recommend cooler weather for the next person. Bring heaps of insect spray and fly spray due to the March Flies. Beautiful place, nice and quiet.

Really quiet spot camping in a huge paddock. There were fire pits and fire wood could be collected off the ground. Possibly a bit expensive when compared to other Hipcamps and what they offer.

Absolutely beautiful property with plenty of night time wildlife! Pretty sure we saw a bandicoot! First paddock is accessible with a 2wd van with plenty of flat ground. Host is a delight and checked everything was ok ☺️ secluded and great for a few nights. Would stay again in a heartbeat ❤️

Absolutely a fantastic place to camp up for a couple of days. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Had the entire campground to ourselves, beautiful scenery, serenity at its best. Will definitely be back, thanks Renee for having us.

What an exceptional long weekend, the most impressive property with miles of cleared walking tracks in the most pristine bush! We love camping out under the stars with no one else in sight, such a magical place. We made the most enormous fire with all the free firewood available, Renee freely offered as much water as we needed. We camp a lot, and this spot is a keeper, our city dog loved free-ranging off leash all weekend! Thank you!
