It is 10km to the upgraded Fitzroy River/Thompson Point boat ramp and pontoon. Enjoy some excellent fishing and crabbing on the river, bird watching and bush walking up the many hills. Only 1/2 hr. drive to the beaches (Emu Park and Yeppoon), National Parks (Mt Etna Caves, Mt Archer Baga, Limestone Creek), and Rockhampton (Kershaw Gardens and Rockhampton Free Zoo).
Campfires in the firepits provided on each site. Pre-cut fire wood for sale on site. Pets are welcome, however the must be kept within your allocated campsite area and supervised at all time. (Dogs are not allowed to chase livestock or native animals). Quiet genset are also allowed.
Definitely no boats to be backed into the dam for washing purposes. Fish cleaning and boat washing facilities at the solar bore near front entrance. Telstra mobile reception. TV reception with antenna. We a setup for fully self contained camping, however there is a basic bush shower/toilet available for our campers.
The dam is a pristine eco area and no soap/detergents/chemicals to used in/around it. The dam is stocked with silver perch and bass – catch and release.
Camp site caters for 2 Adults and up to 4 kids per site.

We are 10klm from the beaches of Emu Park on main highways - 14klm to Yeppoon, 30klm to Rockhampton and only 4klm to the outdoor Tree House Tavern in Cawarral where you can have lunch in the beer garden with a drink or 2.
A 15 minute drive will get you to the marina where you can catch the ferry to Great Keppel Island where you swim and snorkel with the dolphins and turtles or just marvel at the abundance of fish and marine life.
On our property, fire pits are provided free of charge for quiet nights under the stars. Bags of split fire wood can be purchased from the office.
3 covered camp kitchens, with free gas BBQ, are located within easy access to wherever you camp.
Different varieties of chickens are located around the property, within their own yards, and hens free range after 2 pm ( our 1 remaining rooster is caged ) with gentle Clydesdale and Percheron heavy horses, Australian Lowline (miniature cows), Pygmy, and Nigerian Dwarf goats to pat.
Self shedding sheep spot the property. Permanent shower block with 2 separate gas hot water showers - with further basic shower units dotted about should you not wish to walk to the central showers, but with good pressure and gas hot water. Permanent flushing toilets. Portaloos are also dotted around the property.
Pet friendly, but must be on a lead due to livestock. Potable water, but no hook ups to vans due to high pressure pumps.
We a still a work in progress - adding further environmentally friendly amenities, more fruit trees, purchased with the recycled bottles and cans, and a playground to come.
Having only opened to the public in April 2024.
NO electricity available.
Office is located at the far end of the driveway into the property.

A wide variety of native wild life may be seen – wallabies, bandicoots, bush turkeys and reptiles.
THE FARM – “MIDDLE EARTH” Originally a citrus orchard, Beth and Chris (previous owners) decided to diversify. They planted Quandong and Byfield Pine trees for timber, and we now have many varieties of fruit trees including sapotes, sapodillas, grumachumas, jaboticabas, jackfruit, avocadoes and bananas.

For safety though remember to supervise your kids at all times as we have open waterways and dams so there are some hazards. Also remember that eastern brown snakes are in this region so be snake aware.
If you bring your pets they need to be on a leash at all times so that they are safe, there are sometimes Dingoes and wild pigs that wander through the property seasonally.
There is some mobile phone service at the campsites but not always. We look forward to helping you enjoy your stay on our property.
Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure.

We are 10klm from the beaches of Emu Park on main highways - 14klm to Yeppoon, 30klm to Rockhampton and only 4klm to the outdoor Tree House Tavern in Cawarral where you can have lunch in the beer garden with a drink or 2.
A 15 minute drive will get you to the marina where you can catch the ferry to Great Keppel Island where you swim and snorkel with the dolphins and turtles or just marvel at the abundance of fish and marine life.
On our property, fire pits are provided free of charge for quiet nights under the stars. Bags of split fire wood can be purchased from the office.
3 covered camp kitchens, with free gas BBQ, are located within easy access to wherever you camp.
Different varieties of chickens are located around the property, within their own yards, and hens free range after 2 pm ( our 1 remaining rooster is caged ) with gentle Clydesdale and Percheron heavy horses, Australian Lowline (miniature cows), Pygmy, and Nigerian Dwarf goats to pat.
Self shedding sheep spot the property. Permanent shower block with 2 separate gas hot water showers - with further basic shower units dotted about should you not wish to walk to the central showers, but with good pressure and gas hot water. Permanent flushing toilets. Portaloos are also dotted around the property.
Pet friendly, but must be on a lead due to livestock. Potable water, but no hook ups to vans due to high pressure pumps.
We a still a work in progress - adding further environmentally friendly amenities, more fruit trees, purchased with the recycled bottles and cans, and a playground to come.
Having only opened to the public in April 2024.

Casuarina Park is a 640 acre working property situated 10.3km off the Bruce Highway in Central Queensland between Gladstone and Rockhampton. Camping is a self-sufficient affair with 2 long drop toilets. For small groups of campers we have available a hot shower and septic toilets.There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen as well as a 7km walking/bicycle track available to stretch out weary muscles. For fishing/crabbing enthusiasts it is a 15km 4 wheel drive access to Sandfly boat ramp for fishing and crabbing or 26km for a 2 wheel drive and larger boat to Ramsey's boat ramp located at The Narrows. Excellent fishing!Campfires are permitted with wood included (when restrictions aren't in place). Dogs allowed and must be on leash at all times.SPECIAL EVENTS: During the weekends only of QLD school holidays, we are open for motorbike trail rides. You need to have an MQ license and be part of a motorcycle club (we have our insurance with Motorcycling Queensland). If unsure please ask. This means things are a bit noisier on the weekends of school holidays. :)

Our 4.2 ha property has lovely cleared, grassy camping areas under the trees providing peaceful and quiet surrounds for you and your family to enjoy. Relax around the fire and roast marshmallows, enjoy the sunset and uninterrupted star gazing. Kooyalee Homestead is also available for groups, with air conditioned dormitory.
Kooyalee is located 20 minutes from the coastal town of Yeppoon and Rockhampton CBD.
If you love adventure, Kooyalee sits on the doorstep of excellent hiking and mountain biking trails. Set up camp and use the property as your base to explore the area.
Friendly wallabies and occasional kangaroos also like to share this delightful property with our guests.
Guests can use the outdoor toilet/shower facilities. Fire is allowed only within existing firepits NOT during the fire season when bans in place (usually summer). Please bring ample drinking /washing up water. Existing on-site facilities are available to campers (excludes water). Please take all rubbish with you upon departure.
The property is pet friendly however pets must always be on a leash and are not to be left alone as we do share the property with local wildlife.

One of the best Hip Camps I’ve been too, the camp sites are huge and well spread apart, fire pits on every site, the dam is great to swim in, the owner’s came down once, they were nice, 1 tip is to buy the firewood when you get there, not through a 3rd party.

Met the caretaker on arrival who was friendly and directed me where to go. Nice quiet little spot. Great big kitchen and bathroom/showers were adequate and clean. Nice little shelter to sit down by the river to watch the world go by. And Whistling Kites were around too which I quite enjoy hearing. Would be happy to go back.

The camping was very peaceful and the hosts offered us a swim up at green trees in the magnesium pool which was a beautiful view!
The clamping site looked incredible and some of the higher camp spots did too but we had our furry friends so we were on the other side of the hill . Recommended as a nice spot to camp . Great amenities as well .

Cannot fault anything. The camping area is beautifully manicured and catered for swag, tent or caravans of all sizes. A toilet on site, no showers. Fantastic for a quiet stay or an abundance of space for kids to play. Pricing is spot on. 12 minute drive from central Rockhampton.
