Bridgewater is a working cattle property that borders the Dawson ranges. We are also located an hour from the Blackdown Tablelands. There is an abundance of native wildlife, and wide open skies great for stargazing at night. There is also an abundance of native trees and plenty of wood to collect for your fires at night when the season allows. Plenty of space to have privacy and relax in the bush with beautiful views of the mountains to the south and west. Located at the end of a 21km gravel council road you will be rewarded with beautiful views, sunrises, sunsets and peace and quiet in abundance apart from the wonderful wildlife that is. Pull in to a quiet bush setting, set up your fire pit for the evening and grab a drink and enjoy the birds come to life, perhaps see the wild horses, and cattle or the kangaroos, emus or brolgas go past. Enjoy a day trip to the stunning Blackdown Tablelands or simply relax in the beautiful surroundings. Bring your bikes for a ride on the dirt tracks. For safety though remember to supervise your kids at all times as we have open waterways and dams so there are some hazards. Also remember that eastern brown snakes are in this region so be snake aware. If you bring your pets they need to be on a leash at all times so that they are safe, there are sometimes Dingoes and wild pigs that wander through the property seasonally. There is some mobile phone service at the campsites but not always. We look forward to helping you enjoy your stay on our property. Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided.

We loved it so much here. Very private, quiet and spacious. Generous and friendly hosts. Lots of free firewood and pits provided for use. Long drive off the highway as advertised - true off the beaten track vibes. Used as our base for Blackdown Tablelands.

We didn’t end up staying to camp. We did know this was a working cattle farm, but there was a herd of cattle and manure everywhere in the camping area. None of the photos on the Hipcamp listing show this. They show a clean area and not a cow in sight. Also no-one was there to meet us as stated in the listing. Apparently there was an email sent to me but this was not through the Hipcamp app.

Site 1 Creekside Camp
We loved the solitude and open space of this camp. The frogs serenaded us each evening. With so little light pollution the stars were spectacular. Fire wood and fire place provided by the excellent hosts Scott and Anita. Be aware it is a 22km dusty dirt road in, but that’s part of creating the solitude. Highly recommend.

Thanks Anita and Scott for having us! We loved our stay - an easy day trip out to Blackdown Tablelands. We loved sharing the paddock with the cows and horses - kids thought it was awesome. The 3 campsites are close to each other but there was no one else there during our stay so we had the entire paddock to ourselves! :) Scott even dropped off a fire pit and delivered wood each arvo for us.

A very spacious and peaceful farm stay. Not a soul in site only sound of cows and crackling fire. Amazing views of the dark starry sky .

We had a lovely time at Bridgewater Camp. We didn't get to meet Anita, but Scott (husband) was fabulous, very helpful and friendly. Happy to share his knowledge of the land. Directions to get to their location were very clear. They provided fire wood and a fire pit, this was appreciated as it did get cold at night. I would recommend this stay.

Really nice stay on Anita and Scott’s property. Such terrific hosts and even the cows came over to welcome us. The property is well off the main road and quiet. The camping area is very large with firewood provided. You can even walk along a couple of paths during the day. We had a memorable two night stay with a couple of friends and really enjoyed it. And so many stars at night! Would definitely stay again!

Nice isolated camp near a creek on grass - Scott was a great host and brought us free firewood an a few yarns - gotta love farmers !! Track in from dingo was 22 ks of dusty rd so probably wouldn’t suit the mr & mrs clean of this world but they are all Crammed in a caravan park somewhere anyway ! Great stay thanks so much Scott & Anita

Good directions, easy to find, accessible and private! The firewood comes in large pieces, so bring an axe. We loved the provided fire pits, especially the BBQ grate! We switched to site 3 which was the most level, perfect for tents and campervans.

This is a beautiful and honest campsite, with plenty of space and well kept mowed grass. The site included plenty of firewood which we put to a good use since it was very cold at the time of our stay. Our plan was to use the site as a base camp to explore Blackdown Tablelands, but unfortunately the road to the NP was closed for roadwork. We planned the trip a few months ago and nothing was showing as incoming closures at the time, so if this is your plan, I'd suggest to check the NP webpage before you head up, which we did but too far in advance.

Spacious camping area. Plenty of room for each camp. Fire pits and wood supplied. Great to see green paddocks and fat cattle. Didn't meet Anita but hubby Scott was very friendly.

We had an awesome stay at Bridgewater. We had 4 vans on site, All gathered around the supplied fire pit with supplied fire wood. Scotty came down and told us about the land and some history of the area over a couple beers. Top bloke! We all spent a day up at blackdown national park exploring the legendary rainbow falls and the water holes up above it. 100% top place highly recommend And my wife loved talking to the cows around the property 🐄

Such lovely host. Wow so relaxing by the stream with a nice hot fire. 🔥 teenage kids loved having a game of cricket. 100% will be going back and staying longer next time when we are up this way. Highly recommended.

Anita and Scott are absolutely the greatest hosts! Not only that, it’s so lovely they share their property with us! We had the best time and can’t wait to come back! The cows would wonder around us, and such a big open space! And Scott was lovely enough to take us to a couple of spots on their property and to watch the sunset, and have a drink with the cows getting curious! Honestly highly recommend! Thank you so much Anita, Scott and family!

This little gem of a place is off the beaten track away from the hassle and bussel. Great location for the day trip to blackdowns national park. We attend the property in a fire ban but all is ok bring back family old board games and back yard cricket.

Beautiful spot for an easy day trip to Blackdown Tablelands. The camp-site was huge and extremely peaceful, even when the other two sites had campers.

Thank you Anita and family for being so welcoming. (And we hope your son had a fantastic 18th.) It was so peaceful. The morning bird songs were superb. We’d can’t wait for a chance to come back next time we at up this way.
