Camping here was pretty awesome, the views of the lake are really nice and grounds were all very well kept. Amenities were tidy and clean. There is a work site near by but conveniently early mornings and nights are when they dont work so we got plenty of good rest.

Refund / Discount Please!!
I booked a powered site and contacted the caretaker to advise that I might be a little late arriving, he responded that he didn't have a booking and offered no solutions to help with this. I stated that I could send my booking confirmation Via email but he doesn't do email. OK well do you have any available sites? If so, I can show you my payment receipt and booking confirmation email when I arrive.... OK he responded.
When I arrived and confirmed my booking, he showed me where I could camp, and I asked about powered sites, he asked why do I need power, we have a common use kitchen.... Well because I booked and payed for a powered site.
The website states that fires are allowed, so I brought my own firepit to enjoy without leaving a mess behind. It is one I use at home and the bottom that heats up is well off the ground, which does not damage the surface below. To my surprise the caretaker came over and was upset that I didn't personally ask him permission to do so. When I stated that the website clearly says fires are allowed, his rather aggressive response was "I don't give a fuck what the website says, people always ask me for permission".
This is not, from my experience, a common practice to ask permission for something that is clearly stated on the website that is allowed.
Otherwise, the place is very nice. Great spot on the river, great amenities including a fully furnished kitchen and one of the best camp showers I've seen in my time. Well looked after.

A very pretty camp site on the river. We like be out of town so this suited us perfectly. Toilets and showers are a bonus.

Lovely river spot
This is a lovely spot. Host is very helpful and great communication. Plenty of space, nice and quiet. Facilities very clean.
