Hedlow Retreat is set amongst 14 hectares of lush hinterland scenery, perfectly placed on the banks of Hedlow Creek just 25 minutes drive from Rockhampton and Yeppoon. With its spectacular backdrop of towering volcanic plugs and expansive grounds, it’s a visual feast for the senses. We have unpowered and some powered sites available as well as hot showers and flushing toilets. Those keen to indulge their creature comforts will love our onsite accommodation at Hedlow Lodge or self-contained cabins. Do as much or as little as you please at [xxxxxxxx] around the fire pit, paddle one of our canoes, pushbike or explore our walking trails. One of the most beautiful and well maintained places we have ever stayed. The kids didn't want to leave and the sunset was divine. The owner provided fire wood for us for the night so we could roast some marshmallows, the kids went out paddling on the canoe and loved exploring the property. Would definitely go back again but stay for a few days.

The venue was lovely. Right on the creek. Beautiful big skies, stars and sunsets. Loved the open fire with wood supplied. The undercover area would benefit from a sink to compliment the tables and rubbish bins and save rinsing under tap and making a mess. Our biggest issue was the grass needed to be watered. It was very dry and crunchy underfoot and got into everything. Not at all like the photos on the website. Also there was no door on the single male shower only a shower curtain and therefore no privacy if someone came into the amenities to use the toilets at the sane time. This could lead to safety concerns due to the lack of privacy when showering.

Loved the stay, amenities - the location, sunsets by the river, large sites - great atmosphere - hosts were amazing and do a fantastic job. We are so happy to discover a hidden gem right at our door step ( we live in Rocky) We will be back for regular visits

We stayed in one of the cabins when they were built many moons ago, it was a special place back then and having gone full circle now close to retirement and stayed in our van on an unpowered site for 2 nights with our family was just as special, great for the grandkids with swimming, canoeing and kayaks on the creek able to have a fire as long as its contained or use of fire pits already in place was great, would be nice just to have more area for unpowered sites but still had an enjoyable weekend break, All the best Jaclyn 👌

Second time at Hedlow Retreat as it’s such a nice spot! It’s close enough to Yeppoon or Rocky if you need anything. Amenities are clean and close by. We camped down the far end with my brother and the kids and were far enough away from the other campers that you couldn’t hear anything. The river is right there and there are kayaks and canoes supplied to use as you wish. The mosquitos are thick but we had citronella candles and coils so it wasn’t too bad but you do need to be prepared.

What a spot! We enjoyed two nights at Hedlow Creek on our journey south, with a small baby and 4 year old. Tidy facilities, beautiful creek, great to have option of canoes, and lovely pontoons to enjoy a picnic / happy hour with the family by the creek. Peaceful location, we loved looking out onto the paddocks watching the sunset, with kangaroos and cows grazing. Wide open space to see stars and even got lucky seeing the starlink train satellites!! Close to Caves if visiting the tourist attractions, and an easy drive into Rocky if needed. We’d love to stay again. In summer we appreciated the powered site option too, to keep the kiddies cool for nap times!

Stunning! I camped right beside the single windmill, with breathtaking views over the mountain and river. The peaceful sounds of the birds lulled me into a deep sleep, and I woke to the songs of birds and the sight of kangaroos at dawn. Such a beautiful, serene spot, the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. Jackie was quick to respond, extremely helpful and very friendly.

This was a brilliant family camping trip. It is set on nice quiet land with plenty of room. The yards are well kept, the amenities make everything easy with toilets, showers, eating areas and proper areas for a real campfire. The hosts couldn’t have been any friendlier or more helpful. Communication was excellent and facilities were great. Our family will definitely return here! Thank you so much.

We had a lovely stay at Hedlow Retreat. Plenty of room for our large caravan on a grassy, level site. On site staff were very helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much, we extended for an extra night.

Beautiful spot by the creek. Very well maintained but still natural surroundings with lots of birds. Dining area, showers and toilets nearby are a bonus. Jaclyn & Matt are very welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts. We will return!
