Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Imagine having access to a 4-acre campsite all to yourself, with views of the mountain ranges and kangaroos and birdlife to greet you in the mornings—all just minutes from the beach! And yes, it’s dog-friendly! Escape at Agnes is a 4-acre property featuring beautiful gum trees, a dam, and plenty of space for a boat, large caravan, or camper. The site has no amenities, so you’ll need to be fully self-contained/off-grid, and remember to take all waste with you—leaving without a trace. There are several areas to set up camp, though we think the best spots are on the topside of the block overlooking the dam. Please also be aware there are kangaroos and wildlife on the site, you may need to keep your dog on a lead if they like to chase things to prevent them from going bush or onto the road. The property and dam is not fenced. Off leash. Please ensure you clean up after your dog for the enjoyment of all campers (no one wants to step in dog poo!). Please also be aware there are wild kangaroos and wildlife on the property; if your dog is a chaser, you might want to consider keeping them on the lead so they don't run onto the road or the bush

Quiet, cozy and peaceful

We loved camping on Sarah’s land and wished we had time to stay longer than the one night. We loved that we could search for great firewood in the bush and enjoy a wonderful night around the fire together. A walk to the dam was lovely as well. The bird life put on quite the show. Thank you Sarah for having us.

Quiet piece of land. Great place to stop for a bit and rest. Perfect for a fire and to star gaze and watch the kangaroos and birds. It was a little unclear to find as it’s not marked but we figured it out quickly. Great pizza and gelato nearby!

Misleading Listing Experience

Overall, we had a good experience initially, however after the first night there appeared to be an issue with us being on the property. At approximately 7:00am we were woken by a male who questioned whether we had permission to stay there. I advised that we did, as the booking had been made and paid for through Hipcamp. He then stated that he was the owner and explained they had stopped operating through Hipcamp several weeks earlier due to planned building works on the property. Although he allowed us to remain because payment had already been made, the situation left us feeling unwelcome, particularly as he was also camping on the property during our stay. This was contrary to the advertisement describing the site as a private, single-site camping experience with four acres exclusively to yourself. We were disappointed and frustrated to be placed in this situation through no fault of our own, and believe both the owner and Hipcamp should have ensured the listing and booking arrangements were accurate before accepting reservations.

An absolutely amazing location in a beautiful, peaceful neighbourhood. The surroundings are well cared for, with immaculately maintained ground. Everything felt welcoming and relaxing, truly an awesome stay from start to finish.

Very close proximity to Agnes Water and 1770, a great property to base yourself at in order to explore the area. It was nice and quiet with lots of birds and kangaroos. It's also nice knowing that only one group can camp at the property at a time.
