Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉 Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. Whether you choose a campsite closer to the amenities or opt for the tranquility of Camp 4, rest assured that you'll have access to electricity. Only 10 mins away from K’gari(Fraser Island) barge that leaves from River Heads, and you can leave your van here for a small fee. It is an 8 min drive to the local food works, BP servo, chemist and a 12 min drive for takeaway options. Campfires are allowed in the fire pit provided. Families are welcome although children must be fully supervised at all times as we do have a very large dam on the property with ducks and turtles. We do not provide water so please make sure you have some before arrival.

Just a kilometer up the road from our site, you'll find a charming Dog Motel. Please keep in mind that the noise from the dog motel isn't a nightly occurrence, making it difficult to predict specific nights when it may be more active. However I've noticed that campers in caravans generally have a more insulated experience and are less affected by any early morning barking. If you prefer a quieter spot, I make it a priority to assign campers the farthest firepit, Camp 4, nestled deep in the bush, providing you with a peaceful retreat away from any noise. Additionally I'm delighted to offer electricity to all camps, ensuring your comfort and convenience during your stay. Whether you choose a campsite closer to the amenities or opt for the tranquility of Camp 4, rest assured that you'll have access to electricity. While the dog motel may occasionally add a touch of canine charm to the soundscape, I'm confident that the overall experience at my Hipcamp will be an enjoyable one. Come join me amidst the beauty of nature and let the peaceful surroundings outweigh any sporadic noises from our furry friends. Campsites can be 30m from amenities (toilet & shower). Dog friendly. Chrissy and Duane were extremely hospitable and generous to my boyfriend and I on our one night stay on their farm. The land is beautiful and animals were so gentle. We had the opportunity to feed the highland cows and lambs, made a campfire amongst the beautiful scenery, and indulged in the gift shop too. I would highly recommend this site to families, couples, and single travellers. Anyone would be able to find beauty here and I am sure we will revisit again!

We had a fantastic time at gumtree dam highlands. Chrissy and Duane were so helpful and friendly, and great to have a chat with. The animals were so cute, and the farm itself was beautiful. The little shop is really handy for firewood and ice, as well as souvenirs and knick knacks. This is a great place to go to get away for a while, and well worth a drive!! I would go again any day of the week, 100/10

Quiet relaxing time overnight, views of the kolan river are great . The lawns so well maintained for camping in a caravan no need for any mats to be layed down , powered & water (soft not hard) toilets & showers were great . A walk to the river with my dog for a swim so relaxing.

Beautiful spot, great fishing. Caught cod, brim, grunter, some other unknown thing and a catty. Amenities there for your convenience big well maintained areas to camp. Wood $10 a bag. Hot shower, and lovely people. Midgees are and were terrible this time of year.... but thats most places with mangroves.....

Absolutely beautiful little modern cabin looking over the Kolan River. Just down the road from the Bucca Hotel. Clean and tidy. Comfortable bed. Nice shower and toilet. Kitchenette with the essentials. Excellent outdoor area with BBQ, sink and bench space. Comfortable seating. Nice fire pit. Sarah and Ronnie were amazing hosts and we will be back again.

We loved our stay. The beach was so close and beautiful. Listening to the waves crash in. It is amazing to see the turtle tracks during the day along the beach after our night at the turtle centre and it was only a short walk to the centre. A very peaceful and restful stay. Unfortunately, not all areas are vape/smoke free, this was the only let down for us.
