Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property.
There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river.
We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area.
All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken with you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

We are dedicated to creating a more sustainable lifestyle and sharing our beautiful farm with others. As a permaculture farm recycling is a huge part of our culture so please read our detailed guidelines to waste management for campers.
The farm features extensive food gardens , a beautiful Yoga Barn, and a farm and forest walks. Our campground is close to town, bush walks and cycle trails. Enjoy eco-friendly amenities and a great vibe, a place to retreat in a beautiful part of the world. Visit the animals, discover our veggie garden and observe the many birds part of our ecosystem.

Fair Harvest Retreat Rules
1 - CHECK IN is between 2 and 6 pm, for late arrivals let us know your ETA. CHECK OUT by 10 am
2 - ON ARRIVAL, stop at the self check-in area. Register your details.
Find your name and camp site number on the whiteboard. Grab a map and set up your camp.
3 - KIDS should always be accompanied beyond the immediate campground.
4 - Enjoy a SHORT WALK around the gardens.
We kindly ask you to keep the gates closed and not to pick the food.
FARM WALK, follow the walk trail sign around our forest about 30/40 min..
5 - DOGS should be on a lead at all time, we do have 1 designated paddock (not fenced)
where you can have your dog off leads, please ask us.
Our 2 farm dogs are free to walk around the farm and are really friendly.

Please make sure your bins and food are out of reach.
6 - FIRE - you are welcome to light the communal fire (firewood provided)

We are doing our best to provide a great recycling model. PLEASE help us ….
All food even meat should be given to the chickens (bin in the kitchen)

We do not accept mixed rubbish in our bin, so if you don't separate take them away with you.

The peace and tranquillity and spectacular scenery make this the ideal place to relax and unwind or the perfect spot to base yourself while you explore everything the Tweed Shire and the Northern Rivers Region has to offer.
On arrival you get to choose your own unpowered spot. You then set up camp. The caretaker will check you in at the spot you have chosen towards the end of the day.

However we do allow generators, but they can only operate strictly between 9am-6pm.
Turn down all music and please lower your voices at 10pm, we don't mind if you still have fun, but take other campers into consideration please.

Whispering Gums Colo River Camping
Beautiful property, nestled in the Colo Valley, next to the pristine Colo River. We have cleared grassy paddocks, some shady areas, and access to the Colo River, one of the most pristine rivers in NSW.
Our river access is normally shallow, well-suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks.
We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space.
Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m.
IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking.

There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred.

Relax in this peaceful, family friendly campground, nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and nearby Mount Elliot. Enjoy the 70 Acres of shady grounds with plenty of wildlife, including pretty faced wallabies and abundant birdlife.
Located conveniently 45kms south of Townsville and Magnetic Island ferry terminal,45km north of Ayr and 8km north of Giru.
The 20-acre dam is very low at the moment (September, October '26) and grass is dry. We are dependent on rain for filling the dam. At the moment it is too low for kayaking or SUP. Kayaks x3 on bank for public use. Plenty of weed for the birds!
On arrival, phone our on-site caretaker Danni, and she can assist you to find a spot that suits you and your group.
We do have internet reception. Occasionally reception can be weak depending on what the network is doing. Generally, it is not a problem.
Bring Mosquito/sandfly spray or coils, especially if camping by the lake.
Campfires allowed. Wood for sale, $15 cash per milk crate, from caretaker. Please return crates to camp kitchen for re-filling.
Fire rings are available at the sites. Please leave them where they are as moving them is destroying the surrounding areas. Thankyou.
Pet friendly as long as you respect our rules.
Due to our wildlife and respect for other campers, all dogs must be on a lead or tethered by a rope under owners' control AT ALL TIMES.
Dog poo must be picked up. No one wants to step in your dog's poo.
Do not wash your dog in our showers. They can be washed outside under a tap.
Separate men and women's toilets and hot showers.
Camp kitchen with shared fridges, gas rings x2, large gas BBQ, toaster, kettle, microwave and picnic tables.
BYO cooking gear, plates, cups, utensils.
Washing up sinks x2 -cold water only. Laundry tubs have hot water that can be used in kitchen sink.
Coin washing machines available. $5 a wash ($1 and $2 coins, BYO coins)

Riverside King Valley is set on 16 acres on the banks of the King river featuring 10 spacious campsite spread along the property. Just a half an hour drive from Wangaratta, 45 minutes from Benalla and an hour from Mansfield. Each site offers something a little different whether it is a spacious site for a large group or party or a smaller site for a family weekend away.
Our site is accessible for all vehicle types and is dog-friendly as long as pets are well-controlled. Campfires are allowed when restrictions aren’t in place, and firewood and kindling is available for purchase (see Extras).
Please keep in mind that the property is a working farm and there will be cars and machinery onsite nearby to some of the sites. Each powered site has only 1 power supply. Generators can be used but must be used with others in mind.

We loved this camp, quiet and spacious. Great for the whole family. We loved borrowing the kayaks to go for a fish as well as the little hidden gem bush walk where we spotted some slippery dips, and a lemon tree. The 'beach' at the dam is a great touch for the kids also. We wished we had spent longer here.

Thank you Richard and Roslyn, for your hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our kids loved feeding the goats, and chatting to the horses and cows. The facilities were great, we enjoyed a family soccer game and went kayaking along the river. The camp sites are spacious and well kept.

We absolutely loved our time at Yeppoon Farmstay! The view was gorgeous! Sites were nice and private and the rustic showers were a lovely treat - right up there with Bullara Station (if you know, you know!)
The Farmstay was incredibly family friendly with loads of room for our toddler to roam. We hope to be back one day!

This campsite was ideal for introducing my 10-year-old to camping. It really has it all: clean, well-maintained facilities, a strong sense of safety, and a quiet, peaceful atmosphere.
We loved having a private fire pit for roasting marshmallows in the evening! The location is super easy to get to and surrounded by plenty of great activities to keep everyone entertained. Highly recommended for families!

Mostly well done. The non powered gums area requires another toilet block. Thebtoilets had issues too, but I would put that down to the long weekend volume. I dont think there should be a 2 hr use limit for generators in the gumms area. Those caravan peeps should shell out for a powered site. The generators used really impact on the tranquillity of the gums area. We were also not given the opportunity to be on the first boat out for the Everglades canoe trip, in which alot more birdlife is visible. Other than that, well run for such a large camp ground.
