Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits only and may be subject to fire bans. Firewood and ice are available for purchase (cash preferred). Recycling bins are provided, otherwise campers are required to take their rubbish with them. Wi-Fi and Telstra coverage are available. Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away. Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. We can still be reached on Gradys Creek Road off Summerland Way, ignore Google maps if it directs you to Lynches Creek Rd. Check in is strictly between 2 - 5pm. CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends. CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home. Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.) Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties. This property is in Northangera with the Mongarlowe River running along the boundary. It's covered in trees and provides a pristine environment amongst the "Scribbly Gums". It has flat areas with plenty of free timber for the designated fire pits. I have tried to create a haven for wildlife including Kangaroos, wombats, echidnas and platypus. I cherish the cleanliness of the river and surrounds and wish to be able to share this special environment with others who care to preserve all it offers. You can explore the property along the tracks, paddle, swim or fish in the river, enjoy the fauna, wildlife and birdlife. Located not far from Braidwood, a town steeped in history, with good shopping, coffee shops and great food. Sloping to flat land amongst the Scribbly Gum trees offering a number of sites and walks through the property. It provides both sun and shade. Access is good for vans of any size along a track through the bushland. Lovely swimming spots in the Mongalowe River, beautiful clear water, and several lovely bushwalks around the property. There is only Telstra reception available in this area. We offer 7 different sites and the maximum stay is 7 nights.

Weekend Trip to Clarence River Wilderness Lodge

We love CRWL and have camped and paddled a few times before. This time we booked the two cabins together for a family Mother’s Day gathering and really loved the rustic cabins in the private space with wonderful river views where we have seen quolls and rock wallabies before. Sharon and Stephen went above and beyond to ensure our comfort with masses of firewood for the huge shared outdoor fireplace with seating, and for the two small indoor fireplaces, as well as providing a tree to plant for our Mum and access to starlink. We will be back!

Weekend Trip to Clarence River Wilderness Lodge

We had a most peaceful and connecting stay in the cabins at Clarence River Wilderness Lodge. We were nine, with three doing their own camping, so we booked the two cabins for the other 6 of us, which worked perfectly. The hours spent around the well set-out campfire! Cooking, chatting, some arts and crafts, walks up and down the river, swims (yes! in May - chilly and very refreshing but not too cold), canoeing up and down the creek. We saw t least ten different bird species, and two goannas leisurely strolled past our camp. Sharon came by for a friendly drop by one evening and we heard a good bit of the history of the area from her. Altogether and relaxing and refreshing trip.

I spent a beautiful and peaceful few days at the River Shack. The Shack was super tidy and well organised, right on the banks of the river. I had a family of wombats, amazing birdlife and 2 platypus for company! It was totally serene - a fantastic place to escape and recharge.

The photos show it exactly as it is. And for us oldies, it was perfect. Everything you love about camping, with absolutely none of the negatives. It's peaceful, picturesque, and serenely private, with the added bonus of having a ready made bed and a flushing toilet. It was, in a nutshell, perfect.

Weekend Trip to Wattle Valley Farm

It was one of the decent camping i ever have. All facilities are convenient, nice hosts(includes host’s daughter lol), genuinely clean and neat. I checked in a bit late but still kindly instruct me everything I need to know. Great milk, cave walk, bush walk. Everything was perfectly fit for camping beginner to expert. I would recommend and 100% coming back for exploring more :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Helen & Steve’s Shack last weekend. We were very impressed by The Shack being built against a rock wall face and the artful repurposing of all sorts of materials to create a most interesting and spacious hideaway. We had a fantastic stay at Scribbly Gum Shack! The shack is in a beautiful location overlooking the river. Equip with all the basics, we had a perfect weekend ‘camping’ without having to worry about bringing any gear other than linen, food and drinks. Phil’s communication and hospitality were awesome throughout the whole experience. We can’t wait to visit again soon!

Phil’s place by the Mongarlowe River is a great place to relax and enjoy some tranquility. The river is really beautiful and the tracks around the property provide for a nice walk if you want to stretch your legs. Definitely recommend.

Stayed a few nights in a cabin, the bird and running water sounds of the river made it so peaceful. Sat by a fire and enjoyed the stars, swam in the rapids, just a Great place to get away from it all! BACK TO NATURE!! What a wonderful, restorative escape! Such a top spot by the river. Amazing swimming hole for hot days. Saw platypuses, a wombat and water dragons. Simple, rustic, perfect shack. We loved the River Shack at Phils! The water had the perfect little swimming and fishing holeright in front of the shack. The resident platypus visited every day which was SO cool. Spent our evenings by the fire outside. The outdoor sink and cooking set up meant we barely had to use our own kit which was super convenient. Thanks Phil I think we'll be back!

Weekend Trip to Watton Airstrip

Camping at Watton Airstrip was great. Tammie and Damien were very accommodating. We had option of staying in the cabin, and loved that it was dog friendly. The river was close by and lots of friendly horses and llamas around. Great way to spend a weekend!
