Matinicus is an island of lobstermen. Millie, Mary, Darlene, and Wanda, are the first cows to live here in many decades. In fact,  Darlene and Wanda, named after island residents at their request, were born here in June of 2016 after months of suspense and islanders waiting to see the new calves. We have been welcomed with open arms. This is our new start after years of my being a landless farmer. We are home at last and have become part of this island community. This is a fifteen acre farm with a small garden and mixed woods/weeds/grass pastures. We practice better-than-organic gardening methods, and pasture all of the poultry in and out of their fenced in area. The cows do tend to bellow for treats when people walk past their fence out at the road.
