Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

It's like having your own private summer camp! The unfurnished cabin is dry and clean. A huge upgrade from a tent (feel free to pitch your tents if you like)! The bathhouse offers Hot showers, a flush toilet, and sink. (shower not available in winter months) The open pole barn has a deluxe camping kitchen set up with pots and pans, a propane stove, a coffee maker, and a dishwashing sink. There is also a dining table and chairs. While the property is close and convenient to Chattanooga, once you are enjoying the serene woods, shady trees, starry nights, and quality time with family and friends you will forget all about the city! While there are no full-time residents on the property, there is a small functioning horse farm about 100 yards from the camping area. On most days the owner will stop by to care for the horses, and teach riding lessons.

As this property was in full demand, another property became available to buy. As interest began to increase, the family decided open up the options for their visitors. At this current date, they have four cabins and a yurt, as well as, tent sites. We are excited about the yurt that was completed in August 2019. Ms. Helen's cabin is so adorable. You have all the lovely essentials. She even surprised me with little snacks to eat when I arrived. She installed the 2nd window AC in the main area. Once that was installed, the place was an icebox. Do I want it freezing cold, nope, but I have a dog and she gets hot quicker. Once that 2nd AC unit was in, my fur baby was more calm and relaxed. My dogs overly enjoyed all that land to walk and roam free. I personally, since I like nature, I like looking out the window and seeing just that. The kitchen window, faces the woods, the main living room area, when sitting at the table, I enjoyed watching the bird eat at its bird eater. I can say then, now, I am a fan of bird watching. 🤣 and the bedroom window, faces the trees and entry way to cabin. The bed is so comfortable. She does have chickens and a rooster but they are caged in. Unfortunately, we didn't get to experience the finished outside landscaping for the cabin but she was so kind to build a little platform for us to walk on, to keep them from walking in the dirt and bringing it inside. Once that is done, it will be a nice outside private seating area. It is off of the main road (her home is not on a side street so be mindful when arriving). You are close to Forsyth (way bigger than I thought it was). Depending on the direction you go, it is about 25 mins away from the home. Really enjoyed my stay. She is so sweet and so accomodaating. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at this rustic cabin this weekend! It was the perfect little getaway for our family. The cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed being able to fish and relax right there at the property. The peaceful setting was exactly what we were looking for, and it was great having the convenience of running water, AC, and a nearby bathhouse while still getting that fun camping/cabin experience. We had a great time and would definitely come back again! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly getaway!

Weekend Trip to Kennedy Creek Resort and Campground

The view was spectacular. The pictures don’t give it justice. The cabin I was in had a map of the area, Ga and Tn. It was just the right size for my dogs and I and the bed was very comfortable. I believe it was a tin roof and it rained that night. The sound was beautiful to me, not so good to my dog. The people were extra friendly. I felt very secure. I received a flash flood warning and was very concerned but heard the cart driving by ever so often. I had my dogs with me and I believe the camp dog came and took my dog on a walk😂😂. It was the cutest thing. I purchased so many mosquito items and never had to use them. I had to leave earlier than I wanted because my dog was so stressed and he is an elder dog. One last thing I don’t know what the heck I was thinking but driving up the mountain was extra scary for me. I was panicked about having to drive down. Guess what? There is a service for that. I wish I had known before coming. It’s called Stat Ride. I absolutely loved everything about this resort.

I traveled from California to take my grandkids camping. George was an amazing host!!! He was communicative and flexible. when plans had to change due to medical stuff. The site was well designed and surprisingly well equipped. The camp kitchen had all the basics plus. I have a trailer with all my gear so I was grateful to have all the items forgot readily available. The cabin was bigger than expected. We spent a rainy afternoon playing games and napping. Great combination of convenience and real comping!! We will be back!!!

It was a lovely secluded private off grid small cabin. We loved boating on the pond. We also enjoyed cooking outside on the propane stove. The barrel of water and foot pump at the outhouse and sink worked well supplying the water we needed. The overhang roof next to the cabin and kitchen was also nice to sit outside and also cook under. The solar power worked well as well. We reccomend booking this cabin.

Horses, running water, a fully stocked kitchen, secure and private bath/shower, creeks and trails, multiple fire pits, cute fluffy kitty, electricity. We were so impressed with the custom touches and clever functionality of the kitchen and cabin. Perfect for a group. Oh… and bonus points for the tether ball.

Very convenient to Lula Lake Land Trust. Having the bathroom/shower was great, and the electricity & “kitchen” at the barn was nice. I’d suggest that you still bring some of your own cookware, rather than assume everything you may want to use will be available. Also maybe bring something large enough to warm up some water, so you can effectively use it to wash dishes; the sink in the barn has only cold water.
