Lizardsniffer is a working horse farm with a variety of rental cabins and RV slips. We DO allow tent camping. Each RV slip has water, septic, 50 amp service and Wifi. An Amenities Cabin is provided for use by all RV site guests. The cabin includes a full-sized washer/dryer, a full bathroom with bidet, and an oversized jacuzzi tub. Guests must sign-up for a 4-hour timeslot. The cabin is available for use between the hours of 8am-8pm. Many of our RV sites feature private fenced paddocks for people bringing their horses or dogs. This means we don't have many frills, but we are by far the closest RV site to central Atlanta, and the only one on MARTA public transit (right outside the gate). We are a rare gem in this city. One of the last areas that have been allowed to return to nature after being farmed until the 1960s. We are surrounded by 100s of acres of parkland, and yet are only 5 minutes drive from almost everything you will need. You will see the hand cut terraces put in by the farm workers and then the forest has spent the last 50 years taking it back. Still lots of old growth trees around though. The county just purchased/swapped 50 more acres to go with the hundreds more under it's watch. There is a 14 mile concrete trail that runs behind the property and all the way out along the south river. Quite the hike or bike if you fancy a good walk. There is a 18 hole golf course, sports fields, public pool and YMCA type community center all along the trail and walking distance from the campsite. We are a 501c3 non-profit church that is still in the early days of it's mission. Your donation to our site helps fund our mission and keeps the lights on. We are massively focussed on permaculture as the only sustainable way of life and rapidly moving towards being totally carbon neutral. You will be up close on our early days and see our Solar Roof Cabin (a total of 300 panels and 70kW output when completed). We make a lot of our infrastructure from windfallen and site development trees that are cut and shaped on our own electric sawmill. Much of the rest of the renovations are done using upcycled and donated materials. We are working towards: Total energy and water independence Total structural material independence Food independence via aquaponic farming Providing solar powered refrigerated space to local food distros Providing local kids (and adults) access to training on permaculture and living with minimal impact on the planet. It is quiet and was the perfect spot to be near family during the holiday. This is a simple, no bells and whistle campground. Spots were level and roomy. We did not know to request a fire pit but we were able to use one anyways- you can also bring your own. My boys loved the pond, and watching the small aircraft take off. We look forward to utilizing it more when we come down to visit family. My only suggestion would be hooks or a spare bench in bathhouse for belongings when showering etc.

Wonderful, quiet, peaceful getaway with a fun fishing opportunity. The campsite had great amenities (grill, fire ring, table and chairs, and canoe/kayaks with PFDs), too. We are excited to visit again!

Great little campground. No frills just the essentials you needed, water, sewer and electricity. Great 5G UW cell service. Only complaint is the idiot campers that have enough lights on outside to light up a half the campground all night long. Like trying to sleep under a street light. We do not not want to see your lights all night long. Other than that highly recommend the place.

Super peaceful spot! The big open field was great for stargazing at night, and there was a set of trees near the pond that worked for my camping hammock. Loved seeing the ducks as I walked around the pond. This is a very well kept bit of land, and I felt like I had plenty of space to enjoy and it was nicely secluded. The most I heard was dogs barking in the distance and the ducks splashing a bit at night. I'll have to come back!

I really enjoyed my stay here. It was quiet and picturesque. The only problem i had was the site sloped from the middle down making the step down out of my RV little high, but I will definitely be back. I just have to remember my step next time.

Weekend Trip to Brooks Lake, A Peace of Heaven

Bill & Laura's hospitality was amazing! They made every effort to help us find a great spot right on the lake! Moved and leveled the picnic table while we enjoyed conversation. Communication details were very detail and a great help. The views were beautiful and serene, we even had access to a gazebo next to our camp. We slept in our tent and felt very safe. We caught two nice size catfish just before leaving which was great! I can't say enough about this private camp site, except we will be back again soon.

Lovely city park. Not an RV park or a campground but a nice stop over while visiting Fitzgerald friends. Great food at Coastal Plain BBQ!
