We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. The place is amazing! Me my wife and our fur baby loved everything about the place. It has a rustic vibe surrounded by farm animals and wild life! The only thing I would have changed was we didn’t stay long enough! The fresh eggs were amazing to have for breakfast, wish I would have got more than just a dozen. And Rodney, the host was such great guy. You have your own little private spot to just sit back and enjoy. We will definitely be coming back in the short future to see the horses, goats, and other animals again.

The barn apartment sits tucked into the woods overlooking the main garden and farm store area.

This location is pretty amazing. Right in the Blue Ridge Mountains you are surrounded. The camp is easy to find with a beautiful drive in and out with restaurants and eateries near by. Lots to do and I'll be back soon.

We loved camping at the Harmon Homestead! Extremely quiet and relaxing. Friendly hosts that go the extra mile to make your stay amazing. When you go ask to meet the animals. They have goats, pigs, chickens, emu, and the friendliest pup who may come to say hello. Highly recommended.

I loved the time I spent in this lovely little cabin! A great and beautiful place to stay if you are looking for some relaxing alone time. The area is beautiful in autumn, and the cabin porch is lovely. Good for solo traveling!

Arrived after dark. The signage was not clear but quickly found a spot (open field) and set up camp. Didn’t download directions to Old Rag but found it quickly with directions from the lodge. Dinner buffet style at the lodge was fantastic. Overall a great camping adventure!!!

Fantastic views! Loved the peacefulness as well as the ability to enjoy food and drinks at the winery. Didn’t need to cook at all! Thank you Chris and family for being so hospitable. We especially thank you for allowing us to bring our dog inside the vineyard. Bruno had a great time meeting patrons. This is one of the coolest campground I’ve ever visited in virginia. First time boondocking too. Great to see all kinds of horses on the campground and the bathrooms are well kept. The hot water showers are a ++. Will definitely come back!
