    The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! Note that we are always working to improve our slice of heaven, thus we do have tools, vehicles, and equipment stored around the farm that if not used now will be one day. We appreciate your understanding that some areas are used for our personal / farm storage. If you're not into looking at our farmware, there are a few nearby campgrounds. The hot tub is located next to the owner's home. Guests are welcome to use this at any time but must reserve and pay for a time slot. * Book this through the Extras * We are within walking distance of Swatara State Park and close to the Appalachian Trail.     The rustic, off grid, camping experience is located at the highest point on our 66-acre property. Highly recommended for people who love nature and aren’t afraid to rough it. You are paying for the view and peace of nature on private property - not the structure or amenities! The shared camp bathroom is about a 1/4 mile away. You’ll have to drive to it or enjoy a nice walk. Gaze southwest through the massive bay window to enjoy incredible panoramic views of the Blue Mountain and Swatara Creek Park, beautiful sunsets, stary nights, and the warmth of a crackling wood stove from your bed and table! The tent is 12'x16' and sleeps 6. There is a small table, three chairs, a queen bed, bunk bed, and two folding cots. Outside you will find a very large stone-lined fire pit and a picnic table. Bring your own sleeping bags or bedding sets (please don't sleep on the mattress protectors), camp gear, and cookware. *MINIMAL* amenities are provided including *LIMITED* solar / marine battery - inverter electricity (for charging your laptop, cellphone, etc.), lighting, and a fan via solar power. *If the battery gets drained, you will NOT have electric. *  A small cookware set is available (use your own or clean ours very thoroughly). Axe and hatchet. Campfire cooking grate. Firewood is available under extras at 6$ per bundle. We highly recommend the unlimited package to stay cozy. The wood stove will burn a lot of wood and there is no insulation! The hot tub is located next to the owner's home. Guests are welcome to use this at any time but must add it under extras. Similarly, our splash-down zipline over our pond, kayaks, and bikes are all available. * Book these through the Extras * For longer stays book a night in one of our cabins for full amenities including a shower.     Treehouse

    The Treehouse experience is in a central location on part of the 66-acre property. It is in close proximity to the bathroom, hot tub, as well as, our flock of chickens. The treehouse has 3 large windows and a sliding door. There is a wrap-around deck where you can enjoy your coffee and favorite adult beverage on during golden hour. The treehouse measures 8'x8' plus a 5'x8' loft for a total of 104 square feet of living area. It includes a queen bed, a table with a chair, and a futon that folds into a full-size mattress. Ideal for up to 4 people. You may pay for guests beyond 4 but you must also bring your own tent to set up near the treehouse. It's important to note that you must be able to climb a ladder to enter/exit the loft (queen bed). Amenities included: electricity, smart TV with WiFi, bedding with pillows, light string (both indoor and outdoor ambiance), ceiling fan, minimal cookware (you clean), a campfire cooking grate, and a Blackstone griddle with utensils in the outdoor kitchen. A Big Buddy portable heater will be provided during the winter months. You’ll be cozy on the coldest nights!     Tent Site - Cherokee Six Plane

    Our repurposed 1968 seven-passenger Cherokee Six plane sits high on a ridge overlooking PS20 runway 34-16. Gaze southwest to enjoy incredible panoramic views of Blue Mountain and Swatara Creek Park, beautiful sunsets, starry nights, and the warmth of a crackling smokeless Solo stove! The wing doubles as a picnic table! **Full disclosure: we’ve had multiple guests with allergies and or asthma react to the smell and or possible mold / mildew. The plane is not water tight and it’s suffered years of weathering. We highly recommend photo shoots, however we do not recommend sleeping in the plane. Bring your own tent, RV, etc! At your own risk and after our warning, the plane will accommodate two people on a twin mattress. As you see in the photos it’s tight, so be ready to snuggle! If you are creative a small dog or young child could join you in the front seats. We are allowing up to four additional people if you bring your own tent. It is a rustic experience. Think of a plane crash survival situation. We have recently added a marine battery, solar panel, 12 volt power outlet, a Bluetooth speaker and a fan, as well as cockpit lighting. Up next exterior navigation lights! Bring your own sleeping bags or bedding sets (please don't sleep directly on the mattress), camp gear, and cookware. Enjoy the private grill & fire pit area or your favorite beverage during golden hour on the raised bank barn ramp. It is near the pond (zipline splashdown), hot tub, and rock climbing wall, as well as, our flock of chickens. The barn measures about 30 by 35 feet or about 1000 sqft of living area. It includes a queen bed, a rustic twin xl over a full bunk bed, a table with 4 chairs, and a large living room with 4 couches. Ideal for up to 6 people. You may pay for guests beyond 6 but you must put some bedding on the couches. Amenities included: electricity, 75 inch smart tv, surround sound, WiFi, bedding with pillows, lighting, a ceiling fan, a fully stocked kitchen, and a lighted private campfire area down below the barn. The basement of the barn is our private storage (please stay out). You may also have RV guests in the front yard area of the barn from time to time. Treats are available! This site features good shade. It is also adjacent to another long-term campsite guest so you'll have a neighbor during your stay.     We absolutely loved our stay at Fairview! We stayed for 4 nights over Memorial Day weekend. The site we chose was on a hill with a beautiful view of the hills and sky. It was very quiet where we were and we were not near any other campers, which we loved. The bathroom was cute and clean and not too far away. The farm was adorable with goats, cows, chickens etc and the wildlife was great too! So many birds, and also deer, bunnies and turkeys. Bill was very kind and helpful. We can’t wait to go back!

    This was our second time staying at Fairview Farm Airfield. My wife and I love it. Very quiet and relaxing. Bill and Erin are outstanding hosts, make you feel like part of the family. Always concerned about their guests enjoying themselves. They take a lot of pride in there property and it shows. There are some truly unique options at the farm from a finished barn, a small tree house, an old airplane, a few full hook up sites, and a bunch of rustic campsites, pretty much something for everyone. The stars are amazing at night. There is great walking and mountain biking trails nearby. Bill says that the airfield is not used very often but my wife and I are patiently waiting to see some one land on the runway. We traveled with our dog, Gracie. She absolutely loves her time there. We highly recommend using any of the rental options that Bill and Erin provide, you won't be disappointed!

    We absolutely loved camping on Bill's farm. We chose an area close to the animals and the bathroom, and had complete privacy in a beautiful field. Bill was so helpful and responsive. The shared bathroom was very clean! The surrounding area is lovely although not many amenities besides a diner and tractor supply. We went rock climbing at Boxcar Rocks (a worthwhile hike) and saw a movie at a cute local movie theater. We bought eggs from Bill and veggies from Oak Nut Farm. Would highly recommend. Next time we'll fly in 😉

    Gorgeous views, quiet and acres of grass airstrip! This layover was absolutely perfect for pups and yrs truly. We had lovely walks and I could train too. FYI, the road sign was missing so I was a tad nervous turning into the gravel road as I saw a 'No Trespassing ' posted sign. But it worked out and the hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive.

    I never wanted to leave the Treehouse! I was actually surprised at how comfortable and cozy it was! I booked this weekend getaway to decompress and refill my cup. I certainly chose the right place to do those things! The property is absolutely gorgeous and very well cared for! As are all of the incredible animals! The views are spectacular, no matter where you look! The farm is in close proximity to gas stations, stores, restuarants and many different activities, but you really don't even need to leave the farm to have a great time! Thank you for a magnificent stay! Can't wait to return!

    Erin and Bill were super nice and welcoming! The spot was beautiful and it had everything we needed. Loved seeing the animals on the farm. Would definitely stay here again!

    Loft bed; not just for kids!

    The loft bed was a little tricky to get in and out of as an adult, but it was comfortable once up there and I was able to sit up without hitting my head on the roof. The twinkle lights were a nice touch! Warm with the afternoon sun but cooled off nicely for sleeping (end of April). Very cool property!

    I showed up to 42 degrees and thunderstorms and Bill let me pay to switch into the treehouse. It was amazing!!! I would absolutely stop here again

    Great experience at Fairfield Farm!

    We had a great weekend camping at the unique setting of Fairfield Farm. Bill and Erin were wonderful hosts. The farm fresh eggs they offer are great and the option of unlimited firewood takes the guesswork out of the equation. The grass airstrip with an old plane at the edge of the field with the mountains in the background make for great photos. We definitely recommend staying here, it’s peaceful and serene.

    We loved our stay in the treehouse. It was a pretty cold night and we stayed plenty warm. The farm is beautiful, Erin and Bill were so sweet and helpful and super responsive. We felt very welcome and hope to come back soon!

    Tent Site - Cherokee Six Plane
    The area was beautiful. Swatara Park has great hiking trails. Bathroom was very clean and heated (just a short walk down a hill). Plane definitely just for photos. Owners were very kind and accommodating to requests.

    Fantastic ! My partner and I just did a little 1 night stay here to get out of the city and it was so perfect. Beautiful property and Erin and will are incredibly helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend the unlimited package if it’s a cold night - we got a crap ton of firewood and used almost all of it as it was around 20 degrees. The hot tub was great, the views even better! Perfect for a peaceful little getaway. Will absolutely be coming back. Thanks Erin and Will!
