Green Mantis Farm is a small family farm on a hillside meadow with picturesque scenes of pastures, valleys, forests and mountains. We raise predominantly Border Leicester sheep on 40-acres of grass pasture using organic, sustainable methods. On our farm we also raise chickens and geese for eggs and meat. Vegetables crops are for ourselves aside from large porcelain garlic bulbs for seed. Sustainability is important to us. The farm is completely solar powered. Water comes from our well and heating is from wood sourced locally.Experience life on a working sheep farm! You will be staying in a spacious yurt that comfortably fits a family or group of 4. It has a full kitchen, half bathroom, dining area, queen size bed, sofa, desk, and a wood burning stove. Right outside your doorstep is a private sauna and shower where you can relax after enjoying the great outdoors! Our 40-acre property is located on a hillside with picturesque scenes of pastures, valleys, forests and mountains. You can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the sunset from the property. We raise sheep, chickens, and geese on our farm, all of which are free-range, so you might find them roaming outside your front door. Sustainability is important to us. The farm, including the yurt, is completely solar powered. Water comes from our well and heating is from wood sourced locally.

Ann and her husband were a highlight of our trip. A delightful yurt, surrounded by barn cats, herb gardens and views. We enjoyed the sauna, the hospitality, farm fresh eggs from the hens. Book it.

Inspirational and Rejuvenating

This vacation to the yurt was one of the most inspiring experiences I've ever had. My partner and I were greeted warmly, shown around the area so we could gather our bearings. Kevin gave us a tour of the garden that I will never forget. The yurt was gorgeous, very zen-like. Many good books - I could have read those for hours. Good tunes too - the girlfriend enjoyed the Jethro Tull lol. The kitchen is perfect for short or long stays. Looking up through the skylight at the stars was perfect to fall asleep to. Ann and Kevin keep the place impeccably clean, and the sounds of animals are wonderful to wake up to. We loved the sheep, rams, chicken, chicks and those cute geese! We plan on coming back soon so that we might be able to glean more gardening/herb knowledge from these two amazing people and their hidden gem: Green Mantis Farm. Thank you both and we hope to return soon!

Staying in the yurt was wonderful. Ann and Kevin we’re lovely, helpful and kind. We loved every minute and were able to rest deeply. The yurt is stunning and the adjacent sauna is incredible. Highly recommend the blue yurt to anyone!

BEST GET AWAY EXPERIENCE!!!

The hosts Ann and Kevin were some of the coolest people I’ve met. I highly recommend staying in their yurt! It will be like an experience you don’t get in the city. We loved the outside shower and fun garden tour. We will definitely be making a trip back!

The yurt was such a pleasant getaway! Ann and Kevin were great hosts, their farm is a true reflection of their care for the land and their gentle personalities. The yurt was clean and comfortable! Be sure to take advantage of a good sweat in the sauna! We will be back for sure!

Ann and her husband were excellent hosts; warm, welcoming, helpful. They greeted us immediately as we arrived, gave us a fun and informative tour of the farm-- including yummy samples as we wandered the garden-- the strawberries were out of this world! They were also respectful of our privacy. The yurt was fabulous, the bed comfortable, the wood stove stocked, everything very clean and in good condition. We give the Big Blue Yurt a hardy thumbs Up!

Our night in the big blue yurt was nothing short of awesome! Kevin and Ann are fabulous hosts! When we arrived, we got a tour of the beautiful farm and gardens (we also got to try some of their fresh veggies), then we settled into the very comfortable and relaxing yurt for the evening. The yurt was very clean and extremely relaxing. It has a full kitchen so we were able to cook dinner, Kevin even brought us fresh spring mix from the garden for our salad. We’ve been road tripping across the country for months and this was one of our favorite stops. thank you Kevin and Ann!

My boyfriend and I were on a road trip across the country, and when I saw the pictures of this place, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to stay there. I was not disappointed. It was beautiful! Host Ann got us settled in to the yurt and made sure we has accent sink in the yurt, and access to a regular toilet within a stones throw. The bed is cozy and we had a view of the moon through the dome at the top of the yurt. It felt pretty magical. As a bonus, we spent some time in the sauna and shower right outside. It was so wonderful. Hosts Ann and Kevin were generous with their time. They also make a killer salad and everything on their farm is tended to with care. I've never had eggs fresh from the chicken before, and I'm nit sure how I will ever go back to store bought eggs... We loved our night in the Big Blue Yurt. I wish we could have stayed longer.

I absolutely loved my stay here! This beautiful farmhouse has a lot of modern touches, and yet kept a beautiful authentic farmhouse vibe too. I loved the wood burning stove and all the wood details throughout the house. It's a two story house so there's a lot of space to stretch, do yoga/tai chi. And then there's the view! The living room windows all open to a fantastic view of the meadow, mountains, and sunset. It was such a gorgeous sight to watch the sunset in the evening right on the porch or cozy up on the couch by the fire and enjoy the sunset in the warmth of the house. This space is really amazing and a gem!
