My family and I absolutely loved staying at Jonathan's cabin. We felt right at home and loved how you are literally in the middle of nowhere! The cabin was stocked with so much stuff that you might need such as extra bedding, coffee, bug spray and so much more! The wood-fire jacuzzi was so much fun! Getting to the property was simple and directions were easy to follow. Will keep the cabin in my mind for future getaways.

This family obviously loves this ranch. Their cabins reflect careful planning, craftsmanship, and hard work. If you use the wood-fired hot tub, I recommend filling it just above the second port so you donât have to heat more than is needed and so you donât lose hot water by displacement when you first get in. I also recommend putting the cover back on to retain heat while getting it up to temperature. Also start early as it can take a while. Itâs a fun amenity though. Also be prepared to face bees if you eat outside in the summer (I mean, itâs the woods). We did bring some bug spray and sting relief cream and there was some bug spray and such at the cabin (overall pretty well stocked). The kids enjoyed sleeping up in the lofts and exploring the creeks and ponds and trees and rocks and it was nice to get away for a couple nights and let the capacitors drain so to speak. That said, my friendâs daughter had an online class at 5am and was able to participate thanks to the wifi! I was also surprised to get cell service up there, which was comforting as my wife stayed home with our youngest and we were able to keep in touch. Host was graciously responsive to text messages. Totally recommend to others and really grateful for the host family.

We loved the quiet of the area, and the cabin is very well laid out. There are two sleeping lofts! I have to say the bathroom is also very nice, not really rustic at all. Thanks!

Jonathanâs cabin was beyond my expectations! Very clean, and cozy cabin had all the amenities- the ranch was the perfect place for our boys to explore. We loved fishing in the trout pond, mountain biking the trails, and hiking. We would definitely recommend staying at black horse canyon ranch!

Welcoming, comforting, relaxing. The first words of their âWelcome Bookletâ are âMake yourselves at homeâ. This is very easy to do here. Theyâve thought of everything! We OVERpacked ourselves not knowing what all would be available at the cabin due to current pandemic protocols and rules. There is still EVERYTHING one needs and then some. The genius that went into making this cabin green powered (using solar, water, generator, etc.) was tremendously well done! We will be coming back and certainly will recommend this treasure in the woods to others. Thank you Jon (and your family and crew) for a truly ârockstar like treatmentâ camping getaway.

An amazing location that feels totally secluded. We only got to stay the one night because of our travel schedule but I can already tell it will be one that we remember fondly. The cabin is very well maintained and real thought has been put into the layout and function of the space. It definitely gave us a few ideas for our future dream cabin :)

The cabin was wonderful! Super private, super stocked with everything you need and super relaxing! We explored the property around the cabin by catching frogs, exploring the cliffs and enjoying nature. Our son spent hours in the jacuzzi tub. Great getaway for families. We will be back!

This was everything I have ever wanted in a vacation and it was perfect for my birthday trip especially during these times. We hiked around for days just exploring the property and enjoying being unplugged. I would never hesitate to stay here if you're looking for a nice escape even if it's only for a couple of days. Oh and the host was great! We even had firewood brought to us!

Amazing area for a getaway!! We loved how private it was and the cabin was awesome! Our two boys loved the loft especially ;). The hammock, fire pit area, and the beautiful outdoors made it so relaxing! We thoroughly enjoyed the creek and exploring! Hanging out inside the cabin as well was relaxing! Jonathan went above and beyond to ensure our visit was incredible. We will definitely be staying here again!

Jonathanâs cabin is the real deal. Amazing location that gives you the true wilderness experience. The silence was sublime and the surroundings are gorgeous. The cabin itself has been crafefully crafted to a high quality standard with everything youâd need for a comfortable stay. We slept up in the mezzanine and on the pull out sofa both options are super comfortable.. The only downside for us was our 1 year old was a little restless and we ended up driving out to find places for him to crawl that weâre a little less wild. A place for adventure and seclusion you really are in the middle of it, Iâd love to come back with friends or as a couple! We saw lots of wild Turkeys and deer but (thankfully?) no bears :) ..

Black Horse Ranch is an unbelievably secluded and well kept secret getaway. The cabin is nestled in a wooded valley 30 minutes outside any town, and the closest neighbors are miles away. The cabin is equipped with everything you could need: a wood fireplace, fridge, hot plates, coffee machine, fold out couch, loft-style bedrooms, WiFi, fully working bathroom & shower, and cookware. There are tons of blankets and pillows, as well as towels for bathing. The back yard has a fire pit, wooden patio loungechairs, a BBQ, and a swing set. There is tons of wood already chopped for fires. The back patio also has a wood-fire jacuzzi, so bring a bathing suit! There is even a hammock and picnic table nestled in the trees. Jonathan was so easy to communicate with and made us feel so welcome. He even let us stay late the next morning as he didn't have someone checking in that evening, which allowed us extra time at the cabin. I suggest bringing music and games, and a book. This is the perfect place to unwind, unplug, and relax. We would totally recommend staying here!
