We had a wonderful stay with Stacy and Brian on their mountain property. Super convenient to Grayson Highlands SP and areas along the New River. The sheltered area is handy for inclement weather and conversing with the hosts.
Mountain meadow serene
Better than I imagined...incredibly serene huge meadow campsite with mountain views, fireplace and picnic table! Awesome hosts, including friendly pups! Super helpful and generous, toting gear down to secluded site, offering a warm outdoor shower and use of outdoor kitchen if desired. I enjoyed a quiet fire and a beautiful full moon after an amazing day at Grayson Highlands only 15 minutes away. One of the best Hipcamp sites I've been to, and look forward to my next stay with them!
The site was a beautiful spot with great views of Mt. Rogers and the surrounding mountains. The outhouse was very nice, a pleasant perk. We loved how close it was to Grayson Highland's State Park to hike Wilburn Ridge and also to Whitetop Station to ride the Creeper Trail. Great location and great hosts!
Beautiful campsite/wonderful hosts
Highly recommend this campsite and hosts!!! The site we camped at was in a big, private field with a lovely view of the mountains. One of the best, if not the best site I have ever camped at … and I’ve done quite a bit of camping over the years. The hosts went above and beyond! So friendly, kind and hospitable. They even took us on a hike around their beautiful property. Pit toilet was clean and nicer than most flush toilet bathrooms I’ve camped at. They also had running water for hand washing and even an outdoor hot water shower. Our kids (age 14 & 16) were asking to come back and camp there again, before we even left. Also, very close to Grayson Highlands … 15 min drive at the most.
Best campsite for grayson highlands
The hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating and the location is perfect! Amazing views from the campsite looking into Grayson Highlands, which is only a 15 minute drive away.
Wonderful campsite, welcoming hosts
We had a great stay! Our campsite was beautiful. We enjoyed the company of a sweet hound from a neighboring property who adopted us for a day. We got to enjoy delicious apples growing on the property. It was a short drive from Grayson Highlands state park, which was a big draw for us. The driveway was steep but doable. The leaves were gorgeous!
Our hosts provided us firewood and even a blowtorch for lighting it. (It was a damp weekend.) They helped us tote our gear down to the site in their gator, loaned us a tarp and even moved a picnic table nearer our spot for us. They also invited us to join them for a short hike up the hill to a gorgeous view on our last day. Would definitely stay here again!
