For the short time we were at Blackwater Birds and Bees, we loved every minute—especially the fishing for our son. Campsite 3 was perfect for our little fishing lover since he could fish from the shore and we could see him.
The solar-powered bathroom is a brilliant set up. We purchased eggs and glad we did! My husband and I walked to Cypress Landing and loved seeing those trees in the water. As promised in the listing, we saw wildlife (a crane, a black rat snack, a turtle) and unique plants. This place is flourishing with nature and wildlife! The peacock on our way out was a beauty too.
We were only at Blackwater Birds and Bees about 4 hours when a heavy storm rolled through. We spent the rest of our evening in our tent. We hit the road pretty early, but not before our son caught a gorgeous bass!
We drove onward to Virginia Beach from Zuni, which was a little over an hour away, to watch the Stihl Timbersports competition.

Had a blast loved everything about the place perfect place to take your kids plenty of things to do bring fishing poles. 10 out of 10
My friend and I went tent camping for a long weekend and stayed in site 5! We where right next to the goats and couldn’t be more excited about that! We signed up for bee keeping, we learned lots and had a blast! James and his family where super friendly and welcoming; they even got us vegan marshmallows! The camp shop was convenient and super cute! Definitely a quiet, peaceful, fun weekend! Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful setting! We especially enjoyed the goats, chickens, and resident peacock as well as the plant life. Site 4 was the perfect fit for us: back from the road and overlooking the river.
First impressions are everything. When we pulled up, we were greeted with dilapidated buildings, unkept lawns, and no clear indication of where to go or how to get there; nee better signage.
